Chapter 425: Fifth World: Confessions 2

"Huh?" asked Wen Qinxi having lost his soul to the man in front of him. He was barely paying attention to the man's words as his sole attention was on the man's handsome face.

"Xieling's mother. Where is she and who is she to you? You obviously remember everything so I will give you a chance to come clean," he asked again with no hint of impatience.

'Oh boy,' thought Wen Qinxi as a layer of cold sweat formed on his forehead. How on earth was he supposed to explain this? 'Hey, sorry but there is no woman and you slept with a guy. Sorry mate?'

Wouldn't that have his junior brother cut off and left to hang in the sun like a piece of dried meat? Wen Qinxi swallowed hard while peering at him with shifty eyes. For the sake of getting laid in the future, he decided to bite the bullet and come clean.

Like ripping off a band-aid he said, "Ahem... sect leader Qie. There, there is no woman."

Qie Ranzhe's gaze remained locked on him like a heat-seeking missile. He was trying to find signs that Zhao Zhi was lying but to his surprise, the man was actually speaking the truth.

Qie Ranzhe settled the porcelain cup on the table and placed his sheathed sword alongside it before saying, "Okay, then why don't you tell me exactly what happened two decades ago. Where you or where you not there inside that monstrous realm?"

Wen Qinxi felt the hairs on his back stand on end when he saw black calamity on the tea table shimmering like it was ready to draw blood. There was no way in hell he was going to talk with that sword eyeing him like it was looking at a dead man.

"Sect leader Qie, I will tell you everything you want to know only if you put a muzzle on yourself otherwise I am not saying shit," he said moving a little further from black calamity. That sword had so much ill will towards him that he could feel it despite it being an object.

Qie Ranzhe naturally didn't miss Zhao Zhi's actions. In fact, his sword always sensed his feelings both positive and negative which is why it had a strong reaction to Zhao Zhi. It seemed whatever this disciple had to say wasn't anything good so he agreed to his request.

The two simultaneously sealed off their spiritual power before talking it out like men but this somewhat calm atmosphere didn't last long.

Wen Qinxi deliberately spoke in a roundabout manner like an unskilled storyteller. He mentioned what he was and how he rescued Qie Ranzhe from the jaws of the beast making sure to mention every tiny detail. All except how Qie Xieling came about stalling for time.

Qie Ranzhe honestly didn't see this coming but he received it well because that's not what he was mainly interested in. He wanted to know how on earth Qie Xieling came about. It's not like the kid just suddenly appeared out of thin air like a diety so he asked, "How about Qie Xieling?"

Wen Qinxi felt his scalp go numb as he downed the entire cup of tea burning his tongue in the process. Qie Ranzhe poured him some water sincerely hoping this man would still be able to speak after burning his tongue.

"I think I need something stronger to give me the courage. In fact, you will need it too after I am done speaking," explained Wen Qinxi but Qie Ranzhe felt like he was making excuses. Feeling rather impatient he banged the table with his fist expressing his position. This had Wen Qinxi squeaking like a mouse telling him everything.

"He's mine.... he's mine. I gave birth to him," hurriedly confessed Wen Qinxi with a helpless look on his face.

Qie Ranzhe didn't say anything for a while, his face changing colours from red to pale to red again in mere seconds. He couldn't believe it. Thinking that Zhao Zhi was screwing with him again, he chuckled like he had heard the funniest joke of the year. But Zhao Zhi's expression remained resolute like he hadn't said something funny at all. Qie Ranzhe's smile vanished replaced with an ice-cold expression making the room a few degrees colder.

Wen Qinxi felt an overbearing pressure surround him but he didn't cower like a scared pup explaining everything in detail. They were both victims of a calculative person so why should they draw swords in a violent way? The only drawing of swords that would be acceptable would be when rolling in between the sheets.

Once Wen Qinxi was done explaining everything that happened that day, he patiently waited for Qie Ranzhe's response. The man wasn't looking pretty good right now which had Wen Qinxi worried but he had to say it. He had to speak the truth for the sake of their future more especially their future sexcapades.

"How, how about the cloaked man, do you know him?" asked Qie Ranzhe feeling flustered. For eighteen years he had held a grudge against the woman who took advantage of him. He had vowed to give the woman a good beating before letting her go but not only was Qie Xieling born from a man but that man was also not human. Staring at Zhao Zhi at this moment he found his limbs were tired and he couldn't do anything to the man in front of him.

Having not fully processed this information, Qie Ranzhe decided to shift to another subject matter. He was curious to know why the cloaked man whispered plenty of sweet words to Zhao Zhi when they fought. Okay, it wasn't exactly a fight. More like Zhao Zhi getting his ass kicked. He couldn't help but wonder what sort of relationship they had and if that man was a yao too. He couldn't seem to understand where the cloaked man fitted in the somewhat chaotic story.

Sensing Qie Ranzhe's strange thoughts, Wen Qinxi hurriedly explained. He didn't want to be misunderstood so he said, "No, I didn't have that sort of relationship with that man. Just the thought of him calling me darling makes my skin crawl," as a visible amount of goosebumps appeared on his arm.

"My father wanted to get rid of me so he.... promised the demon king to hand me over and I was meant to be a gift to his follower, Qie Anzhie," he explained dropping a major piece of the puzzle without warning.

Soon after, there was the sound of porcelain shuttering into pieces which frightened Wen Qinxi. As soon as he heard that name, Qie Ranzhe's hand clenched into a fist breaking the porcelain cup in his hand.

His hand was bleeding but he didn't seem to feel it stuck in a daze. He was truly blindsided. This so-called brother of his annihilated his entire family overnight so how could he let him live? It was about time he avenged the lives of his loved ones.
