Chapter 32 - Mountain Temple [2]

"I demand you to get out of the pavilion and meet me. I need an explanation right now! Who are you, and why are you in the Mountain Temple that is owned by my friend's family, the Lou Family?!" Felicity roared, her eyes flickering with fury as if she had been shooting daggers at an unknown individual.

It was a moment of silence. No sounds resounded in the area as Felicity slowly approached the pavilion.

A few steps before setting foot on the platform of the building, a dagger made of light shot towards her. Instinctively, Felicity dodged it, resulting in the daggers hitting the floor instead.

She glared at the source of the dagger, but she did not see one. Her opponent, or the perpetrator, appears to be good at what he was doing.

'Tsk. This bastard appears to have a unique cultivation technique that hides his presence that almost rivals my senses. This is a problem,' she hissed inwardly while still glaring at the pavilion.

More steps and daggers started flying at her. She majestically dodges every dagger that almost results in her having to dance instead of dodging.

Before she could enter the pavilion, a fast dagger flew towards her, making her move backward and dodge another dagger. She was dodging everything and for her, it was like jeering her identity.

How could a place in lower heaven give her a challenge like this? This isn't acceptable.

Thus, because of her fury, she activates a technique that makes her speed rise drastically. However, this wasn't in her options in the first place, since her techniques cost plenty of spiritual energy.

Furthermore, because she was a previous strong cultivator from the upper heavens, the techniques she can use are worse for her available spiritual energy since they can drain her.

But because of her desperation, she took the risk and reached the top room of the pavilion in the blink of an eye.

She violently opened the room and entered with her feet stomping in anger.

"Who are you?" she asked the silhouette who was before her.

The silhouette was just the same height as Lucas. It has a male figure, and his height and physique also describe that he was a man.

But when the silhouette didn't reply, she hissed once more before forming a Spiritual Sword from her hands.

The spiritual sword was created from her own spiritual energy, but it was condensed to have a form. It also takes a large amount of Qi, but she didn't pay heed to it as she was more concerned about the place and the person behind the silhouette.

"I am… No one," the silhouette said in a hoarse voice.

Felicity raised her eyebrow and looked at the silhouette once more, inspecting it using her Celestial Senses.

"You… who are you really?" Felicity asked with her voice in an authoritative manner.

Felicity couldn't take the play of patience. She pointed her Spiritual Sword to him.

"I am…"

"The master of this mountain," he said before his figure started to become less human.

Felicity staggered backward, seeing the silhouette become a beast figure in her eyes. The figure appeared to be similar to a tiger, and as it got near to her, the light coming from her spiritual energy showed the appearance of the figure.

She was baffled. She couldn't manage to build up the words to describe what she saw.

"You are not a human…" she said when she finally realized that the creature in front of her was a magical beast who was at the peak of Emperor Spirit Realm.

"No way…" she mumbled as she felt inferior in front of it.

Felicity waited for an attack, but no attack flew towards her. Instead, she noticed that the magical beast's iris became larger as if it was depressing.

"Grooh…" the magical beast roared in a low tone before turning his back from her.

Felicity was left pondering why the magical beast didn't attack her. Thus, she created a light and followed the magical beast instead.

They entered a room that was filled with an unpleasant smell. However, that smell didn't hurt her nose; instead, it was more unpleasant because of the strong scent of herbs.

When the light created by Felicity lit up the darkroom, it reflected in a display glass. She looked at the display glass and was surprised when she saw a person lying inside of the display glass as if it was her bed.

It was peacefully laying down, could have even been mistaken that she was just sleeping. But the scent of the herbs only proves that the person inside was already dead and the herbs were the only thing preserving her body.

"Mary Lou…" she mumbled between her quivering lips. An urge of tears started to emerge in her eyes, flowing uncontrollably.

She looked at the beast. "What's the meaning of this?"

But she could not understand the reply as it was merely a roar from the magical beast.

"Is this really Mary? I thought… I thought she was already dead. Does this mean that she lied to me?" she mumbled as tears flowed nonstop.

She felt betrayed once again. But it wasn't the same as the previous one. Instead, the piercing pain became more noticeable as it was deeply rooted in her heart.

Mary Lou, the only friend she had in the Mortal Realm in the past who was also a mortal, died before she could even return to the upper heavens. And right now, she just realized that her friend's body was still preserved, almost thousands of years.

"What really is happening? Why are the heavens letting me witness your eternal slumber?"

"What happened? Why… are you still there? It makes me sad to see you in this state. How can I look at you right now?"

Felicity looked at the magical beast once again and ordered it to turn back to human form. The magical beast just followed her command and tried to build up the words.

"What happened? Answer me!"

"I… am sorry… But… my sister… didn't explain it to me…"

Felicity's expression became unexplainable as she heard the words coming from the magical beast.

"Sister? Who's your sister?" she asked, still in an authoritative tone.

The magical beast pointed at Mary Lou, who was lying inside.

"She's your sister?"

The magical beast nods. "A sister… in blood."

Felicity was left frozen after hearing the revelation of the magical beast. It said that this magical beast was her sibling?

She was left with confusion. The sadness brought on by the pain of seeing her friend in her eternal slumber was fueled by another confusion about the magical beast's revelation.

What is this supposed to mean? If she was this magical beast's sibling, does it mean that she was also a magical beast?

"But… Mary said… their bloodline was only cursed…" Felicity tried to resist the sobs and hiccups of her cry.

"But it doesn't mean that she… hasn't had the blood of a magical beast…" Felicity mumbled.

"Our mother… was… like me… but only sister… became a human… making her human bloodline cursed… So… she can't cultivate…" The magical beast said.
