Chapter 304 THE MORNING BEFORE HE 'DIED'

Name:SORCERESS 101 Author:WolfsBane
The day Aiden Jones died began like any other.

Err... not exactly die

As in die totally...

But let us say he was not far from it.

Because before this day ends, he will be soooooo dead!

Anyways!

So he woke up in that morning just like what he always does and starts his day with the same old routine.

So just like how he always start his superordinary life, he crawls out of his bed and went straight to the bathroom to prepare himself and face another ordinary day.

Standing in front of the mirror, he ignores the bird's nest on top of his head and began his morning pep talk

"Alright, you hottie. You'll gonna rock this day and hit your daily quota."

He said to his reflection before he winked.

Good thing that he does not need to share this bathroom with anyone right now. Because if his roommates see him talking to himself like that, they might think that he is a lunatic.

To call yourself hottie despite that hot mess on your reflection.

Which part of you speaks hottie???

Really?? Just where do you buy your confidence??

You must have a lot of stocks!

Then with another big smile he continued talking to himself.

"Okay, Aiden I know that you are handsome, and someday you'll get a beautiful wife to marry and start a family. So as early as now, you must have to start working really hard to earn a lot of money. And always remember that there are lots of readers waiting for your update. So, Ajah! Fighting!!!"

That is how he likes to start his mornings, every day.

Because whenever his alarm goes off at ; 7 o clock in the morning and he has no choice but to drag his sorry butt out of his bed, he will start wondering why does he always have to keep doing all of this.

He can't help but wish that his mother is still here. That he was back down to his hometown with his friends somewhere in the countryside province

Because up here, in the city, all he has is his reflection to talk to.

He must be lonely, you think??

Well, apparently he chose not to. He wants to face life with a smile. Go with the flow. Life must go on.

That is why he had that mantra.

This is to remind himself that there is always a reason to live life as happy as he could be.

That everything is gonna be alright.

He is important and he exists for a reason.

He always wants to start the day with a positive note, like that.

After saying his morning mantra in front of the mirror, Aiden tamed the hot mess in his hair and throw on some decent clothes to hit the cafe a few blocks away from the bed spacer that he was currently renting.

Apparently he was working as a part-time barista in a cafe. Well, so far that is the best job that he could get in the city considering that he does not have any college degree.

Besides, he also had this other source of income. He was a web novelist. He is an author wannabe. Just like any other aspiring authors out there, he also wants his books to be published somewhere in the future.

In fact, that is one of his childhood dreams. If he just had a chance to go to college, he might have chosen a course related to this passion of his as well.

But since his mom died from a car accident a couple of years ago, he had no choice but to stop attending school and focus on working his ass off to earn for a living and support himself.

Now, why is he at the city???

Well, he had no choice but to sell their small property in the province to pay all of their bills. Especially the funeral service for his mom.

Then an old fortune-teller in their hometown told him that bad luck will keep following him if he will continue to live in that place.

She even advised him to start his new life in the city and told him that he will be going to meet someone here and that someone will going to change his life.

She also added that a black shadow was trailing after him and it will just keep on bringing misfortune upon him so he must find that someone who will change his life.

Because apparently that special someone, whoever he or she is, he bet it was a 'she' is also the only one capable of protecting him from that black shadow.

Well, of course, he knows that all of that sound absurd and cliche.

But hell yeah!

What's wrong from being a little bit superstitious and careful.

Just follow her advice!

There is no harm believing the words of a fortune teller every now and then, right?

So here he is!

Braving the bustling city life.

One more good thing about this job that he got, is he has a very understanding and supportive superior.

Even though his shift is only four a hours a day, he is allowed to stay in the cafe for as long as he wants---and that is what he always do!

Of course!

Free WIFI!!!

With that, he was able ; survive being a web novelist without worrying the bills for internet connection.

He always stays inside the cafe until it closes and within those times he write his novel and upload to an online reading site that also pays well.

That is his life. He do the work, go home, eat, sleep and repeat. There is no parties, no fun and most of all... NO GIRLS!

Aiden started his brisk walking as he made his way towards Star Barracks, the cafe where he was currently employed.

The cafe is located somewhere in the corner of the city where people rarely visit. That is why customers in Star Barracks is really sparse.

Maybe this is also the same reason why Aiden was allowed to stay for as long as he wants.

So that, there will be at least someone to use those abandoned tables and chairs.

Since they rarely had a customer to occupy them, to begin with.

The business was almost dying. In fact, it was a great wonder how Star Barracks can still continue to operate and continue the business despite its status.

It was also located somewhere that literally looked like the place where things went to die.

It was a great gloomy concrete cube that stuck out of the beautiful stores in the city like a giant sore thumb.

Aiden once heard from one of his workmates before that Star Barracks was considered a top notch cafe 50 years ago.

But now, it looked nothing like a dilapidated mess. A business that was on the brink of bankruptcy.

The inside of the cafe ; was not much better either. Gray walls, gray carpet, and even gray plastic tables and chairs that only added to dreariness of the place.

It was not the most stimulating place to go and relax but that is all they had. The business can no longer afford having renovation considering that the business is not doing well.
