Chapter 263 - IT WAS BLEEDING

Name:SORCERESS 101 Author:WolfsBane
"What d-do you mean??? O-of course.... none. Why? do you have a problem with me?"

Yun Xue said as he tried to feign ignorance.

But he was not a good liar though, because he cannot keep his cool while he was saying that.

He can't help but stutter and his eyes were darting in all places as he answered Mu Lingxi's question.

"Well, it is just that I can't shake the feeling that you were trying to avoid me and whenever you talk to me, you seemed to be awkward about it. Why is that?"

Mu Lingxi fired up another question without holding back herself. She just wanted to make everything clear.

Since she can't recall anything that she might have done to make Yun Xue that way.

If there is something that needs to be resolved, she believed that it would be best if they could talk about it and settle it already.

Since they already have a chance to do it right now

Before anything would turn even more awry and awkward between them.

"Oh c'mon. It was just all inside your head. We're good. Really, maybe it was just because we've been busy these past few days that is why you thought that I was avoiding you."

Of course, Yun Xue will never admit to it.

There is no way he will going to tell the other party that he was acting weird because he was starting to feel a strange affection towards his friend.

Since Yun Xue was adamant about denying the matter altogether and it does not look like he has any plan in coming clean, Mu Lingxi has no other choice but to set it aside.

They went on looking for the ancient chalice without talking with one another.

After a while of searching, they heard Chan Gu's voice calling for their attention. It seemed that he and Fan Lei was already back at their meeting point even before the two-hour time mark.

"Guys! Come over here! I think I already found it!"

Before Mu Lingxi and Yun Xue could even continue going deeper to the eastern part of the old mansion, they heard Chan Gu's shout.

Since Chan Gu already found what they needed, then there is no point in searching aimlessly anymore. So they decided to head back to their meeting point.

There they saw Chan Gu waving at them.

One of his hands was holding a chalice and it was golden in color. There was a cover placed above it to seal the chalice.

It is a good thing that the cover of the chalice seemed tight.

It does not look like the cover will going come off easily if they will not purposely open it.

"It's actually easier than I expected..'

Chan Gu said to his friends as he gave another look at the ancient chalice that he was holding in his hand.

Indeed, finding the ancient chalice had been too easy for him.

They have already prepared themselves for the worst. In fact, they already expected that they would at least meet some trap or trial before they could find the ancient chalice.

But it looks like they were just overthinking things. Because apparently, locating for the ancient chalice is not a problem at all.

When Chan Gu and Fan Lei was looking for the chalice at the western part of the old mansion. They arrived at what seemed like a long dining table.

Along with that long dining table, they found the ancient chalice that was left unattended at its very center

As such when they reached the place, Chan Gu was able to easily obtained it.

Of course, at first, they also held some doubts about the authenticity of the item.

They even thought that they got the wrong chalice.

But after looking for a few more minutes, they soon realized that it does not seem like they got the wrong item

Because when he and Fan Lei tried looking around the area, there is no other chalice aside from the one that they got.

Aside from that, the fact that the chalice was tightly shut only further cemented their belief.

"Here. Take it, Yun Xue. It would be best if you will be the one to keep it. To make sure that it won't get open."

Since Yun Xue was known to be the most meticulous among the group, they believed that it would be best if he will be the one to keep the chalice that should not be opened.

"Sure, ill be keeping it then."

Yun Xue said as he stretched out his hand to receive the ancient chalice from Chan Gu.

When he finally had his hand over the chalice, he stowed it inside his storage ring right away.

"Come on guys. We have to go. Let's head back now and leave this place."

Long Yue beckoned as he started walking ahead of the group.

He was definitely looking forward to returning to Magus Academia and gave the ancient chalice to Schoolmaster Yin.

Hopefully, that ancient chalice is the key that would be able to help them to finally awakened Luna.

The rest of the group also felt the same way so they all went out of the old mansion with Long Yue on their lead.

So far, everything seemed to go on smoothly and Mu Lingxi can't help but feel that everything was going way too smooth sailing that she was starting to feel unnerved.

It was unsure whether she was just being apprehensive for no reason but the fact that everything went on smoothly in this quest is really suspecting by itself.

It did not take long for the group to reach the same massive wooden door where they came in. It was still left wide open and a gust of wind was still coming from it.

It was Long Yue who first stepped out of the old mansion followed by his other friends. The last one to step out of the old mansion was naturally, Yun Xue.

But as soon as Yun Xue stepped out of the house, the sanguine ambient light of the place started to show some visible changes.

The reddish-brown color of the place that looks like dried blood started to look fresh. It was as if the whole place was coming alive and it was bleeding!!!!

When Mu Lingxi and others noticed these changes, they immediately took out each of their wands to prepare themselves.

They anticipated as much as this so they were not surprised to see these kinds of changes before they could leave the place.

But although they were already prepared for this, they still can't help but feel goosebumps as the witnessed how the entire place looks as if it was bleeding.
