205 LIKE MASTER LIKE PE

The sun already departed when Mu Lingxi and her friends were done cleaning themselves and having their rest. Just like before, after draining all their brain cells out for that activity, the group decided to unwind.

This time, Mu Lingxi also thought of having some fun for herself. Just like her friends, she also went out and head straight to Majika to enjoy the nightlife in the school's trading center.

It was her first time doing it by her own free will. Even Janus was surprised when Mu Lingxi invited him out.

He wonders what had come to Mu Lingxi that night to decide to went out even without him nagging her to do so.

Usually, his master was so adamant in staying at their dorm and spending the night at her bed doing nothing.

Janus even has to think of various plans sometimes just to get her to agree in having fun outside.

A starry night sky welcomed the master and cat duo as they stood outside. It felt as if someone had used a needle to pierce through the night sky. Leaving behind innumerable holes for light to pass through.

The road leading to Majika was still bustling with activities and students from different magic realms can be seen roaming the area despite the time being a  bit late.

Cutting their way towards the busy crowd, Janus can't help but ask his master.

"MEOW"

[By any chance, are you an alien who was pretending to be my master? Could it be that the real Mu Lingxi was abducted????]

"Shut up Janus, or I will lock you up inside our room."

"MEOW"

[It was her. It was definitely her. No one aside from her will have the heart to speak to a cute cat like me in such a harsh way..]

"Okay. Alright. You are the cutest cat alive in the entire universe. You're the best, Janus. Everyone should speak sweetly whenever talking to you. I am wrong. Sorry. Please forgive this lowly human."

Mu Lingxi replied subserviently as she tried her best to hide the sarcasm in her voice as she said that.

Knowing that his master was getting sarcastic to him, Janus decided to went along the script and pretended that he was truly feeling troubled about his acquiescent all of a sudden.

Janus even walked ahead of Mu Lingxi and stops in front of his master before standing up with his hind legs. His two paws were positioned in front of his mouth, as he covered his false gasp.

"MEOW"

[Oh my gosh! You are even agreeing to me now?! We are not arguing?? First, you decided to went out and have fun on your own free will, and now you are actually not even picking a fight with me! Oh my poor little lass, you must be sick!]

"You're the one who is sick!!!! Forget it! I guess you were not hungry enough since you still have the energy to tease me. Sure, let us just stay inside our dorm room like we usually do. Come on..."

Mu Lingxi shrugged her shoulder and turn away, ready to walk back to the boy's dormitory.

"MEOW"

[Aye! W-wai-wait! Wait right there! C' mon. I was just kidding you. Don't take it to the heart. Let's go and have some fun. The weather is so good tonight. I am craving for some chicken and beer.]

"Tss... You wish?? Can a cat even drink a beer?"

"MEOW"

[Why do you always love to counter every word that I say???]

"You were also doing the same thing to me, Janus."

"MEOW"

[Well I guess, it is just like what an old saying says. Like master, like pet.]

"I think you recall it wrong. There is no such saying as that. If I am not mistaken, what you are trying to say is 'Like mother, like daughter'.

"MEOW"

[Haixt. Whatever! It was just the same! They both mean the same thing... Tsss... Why do you always have to go against me?!!]

" You know what??? I really find it hard to understand you. Just a while ago you were nagging me because I was agreeing to your words and not picking a fight with you. Now you were acting like that because you were saying I'm going against your words. Why did I even own a cat more fickle-headed than I am???"

The master and cat duo incessantly throw sarcastic remarks towards one another. They continued bickering with one another as they made their way to Majika.

Several celestial pearls were embedded in the pavement providing them a brilliant glow that lights the road ahead of them

Mu Lingxi was not good at directions to begin with. Plus, she rarely visited Majika during the night. As such after walking a few more meters and taking a couple of turns, they arrived at a less busy and not crowded part of the Majika.

The customers were getting increasingly sparse in that place. The bustling street from the moment ago had become a little cold with nary a person in sight.

"MEOW"

[Did we just lost our way???]

"Shut up! Just find our way out of here."

"MEOW"

'Just how exactly do you expect me to do that, little lass?]

"I don't know???? Just do something. Smell for it or anything... Keep on trying"

"MEOW"

[Seriously?? Do you take me for a dog???? I'm a cat, do you know that??? I came from the feline species. The cat's sense of smell is designed for only one thing, and that is finding mice. It was the smell of a mouse or other rodents that has its marking scents that trigger reactions from our olfactory receptors. Most everything else is 'just another smell']

Janus replied in a lecturing tone. His answer was of considerable length. Mu Lingxi knew that if she would not stop her cat right now, Janus will start talking about science later on.

"Okay. That's enough. I get your point."

Knowing that they won't be getting any result by just remaining on one spot, the mater and cat duo started walking further ahead.

"MEOW"

[How long do you plan us to keep on going straight?]

"What are we supposed to do then??? It is not like we knew our way out of here...'

"MOEW"

[Sure, sure. Keep going straight, then. We will certainly get there, one day, I guess. Since the world is round.]

"Stop it!"

Her cat's taunting was really getting the getting the nerves out of her. But as if, Janus was still not satisfied in teasing her, he half said, half sang his next comment.

"MEOW"

[ just keep going straight. We will end up meeting all the children of this world before we get back.]

"Hmph!"

Mu Lingxi harrumphed as Janus continued to pissed her off.

'MEOW"

'Hold on, what was that?"

Janus suddenly jumps out of the way and his fur stand on its end. Due to his keen sense of the surrounding, he can easily detect if something was off around them.

Just a while ago, he could clearly sense that someone was eyeing them. But when he tried to sense it one more time, the feeling was already gone without a trace.

"MEOW'

[That's strange. Why do I feel like, we are being watched?]
