Anderson nodded and sent for Donnell "please take a seat" he offered and Veronica made herself comfortable.

They shared small talks while waiting for Donnell and after some minutes, he entered the office "you sent for me?"

"Yes, you know this young woman don't you?" He gestured to Veronica and Donnell nodded "good. She asked to speak in your presence."

Donnell felt his heart missed a beat and he swallowed "I'm here now."

"Good" Veronica said "I will like to know why my son was kicked out of prom."

Anderson looked startled at that "I don't understand, is Jason kicked out of prom?"

"Yes and also out of gym class" she answered.

Anderson looked at Donnell and sighed "I'm truly sorry for that but I believe there must be a reason for that."

"Oh yes there is, because he refused to apologize to the boy he had a fight with two days ago."

Anderson looked at Donnell "care to explain?"

"From what I witnessed that day, Jason attacked Cash for no reason. I am only trying to settle the animosity between them by asking the one at fault to apologize, but he was a strong head and I was left with no choice but to do what I have to do."

"Is that so? Can I please know where Jason is at fault? He rushed out of class to see his sister being bullied and you expect him to stand aside and do nothing? If Anna was having issue with a fellow girl and he had intervened, then I will say his wrong but he saw his sister being bullied by a guy his age and also in his class, and you called that being at fault?"

"I never knew Anna was in this case. I had always known that Jason won't pick a fight for no reason but he refused to say anything when I asked him" Anderson replied.

"Mr Anderson, what I am saying is that my son has the right to be in prom, you can't just kick him out because he had a fight with a fellow boy in which you still detained them and punished them. So tell me, why should he be the only to apologize? If Mr Donnell was really trying to settle the animosity as he said, why didn't he get the two of them to apologize, why only my son? Why should he be the only one kicked put of prom because he didn't apologize, did he fight himself?"

"Please calm down Mrs Macaulay, let's settle this amicably."

"Don't tell me to calm down!" She slapped the desk and Anderson jumped "my son was judged unfairly, why? Simply because he is the uncle to the other boy?" She pointed at Donnell.

Anderson sighed and judging by her action and voice, he knew she was really angry "please Mrs Macaulay, please calm down. I will sort this issue. Will you believe me if I say I had no idea things escalated to this point?"

"I might if you do the necessary thing" she folded her arms on her chest while staring at him with a raised eyebrow.

Anderson chuckled at her expression before looking at Donnell "Jason is back in your class and he is allowed to attend prom. Is that clear?"

"Yes" Donnell nodded, he never wanted to kick Jason out, he only wanted to scare him to make him do what he say.

Veronica sighed at that before nodding "good, it's good that you sort this things out and please, my son should not be forced to apologize when they were two who committed the offense and the other has to go free because his uncle happens to be the gym teacher."

Anderson smiled and shook his head "I assure you I will do my best to keep that from repeating itself."

"Good" Veronica stood up "then I shall bid you goodbye now" she turned to look at Donnell "you too Mr Donnell."

"Yes, goodbye" Anderson and Donnell replied and Veronica walked out of the office.

Anderson let out a long sigh "why in the world do you have to send that woman to my office?"

"I didn't send her, I didn't know she will visit actually. Besides, I was already planning to let Jason know he is back in class and prom, I never really wanted him out, I just wanted to scare him."

"Hmm, well, we both know his mother. What's her work again?"

"She works with women affair, she fights for women rights in the society."

"Of course, with the way she is talking, you will know she is a fighter, it's written in every part of her body."

Donnell chuckled at that "I will always choose her husband to settle a matter with."

Of course, everybody will choose gentle Sam over his fiery wife, I sometimes wonder how they managed to live together all this years."

"Hot and cold goes well together, when she is hot, he will keep her cold, thereby making her warm" Donnell analyzed and Anderson laughed before waving him out of his office.

Jason and Anna had already been tipped that their mother is in the school, they were surprised because she told them she will be back today indeed but just that they thought it was just one of her wrong dates. Jason was still surprised how she came to know about the issue and figured it might be their father who let the cat out of the bag.

Veronica saw her kids waiting outside for her and smiled to them, she walked up to them and gave them each a hug and a kiss "how are you my lovelies?"

They both nodded and Anna hugged her waist, she really has missed her "why are you here?" Jason asked.

"To get justice for you of course."

"How did you know about it mom?" He pressed.

"Why, your father called me of course, you know he aren't so good in settling issues like this and I can't sit back and watch you not attend prom simply because you defended your sister."

Jason scratched his head awkwardly and Anna smiled, that's why her mother is her role model, she doesn't take shit from anybody "so did you win?" He asked and Veronica smiled and ruffled his hair, Jason felt awkward for they were a lot of students watching them, what will they say if they find out she still ruffles his hair "stop mom."

"Have you ever seen me loose a fight?" She asked and Jason smiled "you are going to prom boy."

The students present who were able to hear her words gasped, really?

"Thanks mom" Jason smiled. Anna wasn't entirely happy, she had already imagine herself camping with him alone, and now there is no no more camping.

"You shouldn't have mom, Jason and I had already planned to go camping on the day" she pouted.

"Don't worry love, we can always go camping anytime you want. You have my word" he smiled to her and she nodded, good that has not been ruined, she thought.

"Okay kids, I have to rush over to a meeting. I will see you at home okay? I love you, I love you both so much" she kissed their heads again and they both waved her goodbye.

Donnell walked up to them then and cleared his throat "Jason you can start your gym class again and you are welcome to prom."

"Thank you Mr Donnell" he replied and walked away with Anna. Donnell stared after them and shook his head, all thanks to their mother, he thought.

Samuel picked them later in the day "so how did it go with your mom?"

"I told you not tell her" Jason accused.

"I didn't promise I won't" Samuel grinned "she won didn't she?"

"Of course" Anna answered with pride.

"That's why I love her" Samuel smiled proudly and Jason smiled too, he is happy she is his mom but also sad because she had to give birth to the love of his life, making her his sister. He sighed and wish there will come a day when he will proudly say he love her just like their dad did just now to his mom but he knows it's only a wish that will never come to pass.

"Anna, can you come down here?" Veronica called from downstairs. Anna sighed and got up from her bed, the day has been boring, absolutely nothing to do. She had slept almost the whole day and couldn't get herself to sleep again. She went downstairs to see her mother talking to a woman, it's her first time seeing her, well, obviously it has to be one of her women affairs people, she thought.

"Yes mom?" she said and Veronica turned to face her, she greeted the woman who smiled to her.

"Sweety, are you up for it? I need you to run to the store and get something's for me. I would have gone but Anita here have something important to discuss with me. It's about our new conference meeting so I can't afford to miss it" she smiled.

Anna nodded, of course, she is planning another travel already, it's only been four days she came back "what is that?"

"Some grocery, or we are going to go hungry tonight, you don't want that do you?"
