Chapter 190 - Noble Sacrifice (3) END

“Jonnan?”

I turned my head to see Jonnan there. Jonnan who seemed to be unbelievably young and healthy for being 50 was holding a longsword and attacking Heros.

How did Jonnan get in here?

Now wasn’t the time to think about that.

Jonnan was level 400, but his sword skills weren’t too great. They weren’t lacking compared to his level, but it wasn’t enough to take on Demon Lord Heros.

Heros quickly realized that after fighting against him for a bit. He was attacking much rougher than when he had been fighting against me.

“You insolent fool. You dare to get in my way without knowing your place!”

Clang!

I quickly picked my blade up and blocked Heros’s attack. Jonnan would have lost his neck if I was even a bit late.

But Heros would not stop there.

I didn’t know how Jonnan got in here, but Heros was now suddenly fighting two on one.

It would naturally put him at a disadvantage. The situation would become even worse if I recovered my stamina.

He increased the power and frequency of his attacks as if he wanted to avoid that situation. It was more dominating and stronger than before.

Clang. Claaaaaaang!

Most of the attacks were focused on Jonnan. He realized that Jonnan could not counterattack after checking his skills.

On the other hand, he probably thinks that I may be completely worn out but I could still land a final blow.

That was why I couldn’t rest either. Jonnan used his longsword to defend, but I had to block Heros’s attack that aimed for his openings.

I counterattacked here and there, but I was too tired for it to do anything. Heros blocked all attacks.

“Ugh!”

Shit! Heros’s attack had gone through. Jonnan seemed to have a pretty big injury on his side.

Injuries didn’t easily heal even in the Resting Place of the Dead. It only seemed to give unlimited stamina.

Jonnan’s movement became significantly slower.

Heros became confident again. He was quietly swinging his sword but he could speak again.

“Did you sacrifice yourself for this fool? How touching! But you will pay dearly for the price of your actions. I will rip your soul into pieces so that you disappear for all eternity.”

Sacrificed himself?

I could predict how Jonnan got in here thanks to Heros’s comments.

“Did you commit suicide?”

“That seemed to be the only way to get in here.”

Crazy. He’s crazy. He committed suicide?

“Shut up. Just die!”

Heros’s attacks became even rougher. It was clear he wasn’t going to give me any time to recover.

But a bright light suddenly flashed at that moment. It was an extremely hot flash of light.

FLASH!

“Ahhh!”

Heros screamed right after the light exploded.

‘Now what?’

The person who created the flash answered my question.

“Master!”

“Eruni?”

I didn’t even need to raise my head. This was definitely Eruni’s voice. There was also only one woman who would call me master.

I wanted to turn my head to check. It would be even better if I gave her a hug.

But there was something to take care of first. Opportunities needed to be grabbed when they appeared.

Eruni must have cast a lightning spell.

The strength of her spell probably became much stronger than normal. Everybody’s abilities became equal here.

Thanks to that, Demon Lord Heros has received a strong shock and had fallen over.

I tried to quickly focus and raise my body but my movements were not very natural.

But I just ran toward Heros. My hands and feet were shaking because I had no strength left. I had used all of my strength and could not use any more, but I was still able to draw out enough power to land one last attack.

But I still had to shout to energize me, even though it wasn’t something I would normally do.

“Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”

Heros’s eyes were full of fear.

I turned that fear into reality. My sword fell right onto Heros’s head.

Heros had quickly raised his sword to block, but I broke the sword and struck Heros’s head with my sword.

His head was so strong that the sword did not go in very deep.

But it was enough to give him a shock. It also gave me an opening to land a second and third attack.

I aimed for his neck next. I chose to stab instead of slash to use less stamina while causing a lot of damage.

I used everything I had with each attack.

“Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”

Puuk!

My sword stabbed into Heros’s neck. The feeling moved through my tired hands and throughout my entire body.

Heros could not close his eyes. He then fell sideways.

I heard a voice in my head at the same time.

<Amazing! I didn’t think you could do it!>

It was god’s voice.

<I can’t believe the secret of this place was noble sacrifices. I thought it was just a game where strength mattered most. I learned something thanks to you.>

What is he talking about? I guess the god didn’t know the secret of this place either based on what he is saying.

Did the god not create this area? Or maybe a higher-ranked god than the one talking right now had created this special place?

But the god did not give me any time to ask questions. He just kept saying what he had to say without giving me any time to ask anything.

<I will give you a reward as promised. And there is no need for you to come to this place any longer. I will gift eternal rest for you as well.>

Wait, what does that mean? Eternal rest?

I don’t think that means I’m going to die. It just sounds like I can’t come to Royal Roader any longer.

That’s not cool.

I worked my ass off to fix the foundation of this world. Now I could go back and live the life of an Emperor.

Most importantly, what would happen to my Legendary Blacksmith quest? It said that I would get the Jewel Create skill for completing the final quest.

Do I have to give up on all of that?

I can’t lose out like that.

“Wait. That……”

However, the god’s conversation was one-sided.

<I will give a new life to the people who helped you out as well. I guess I should at least give you some time to say goodbye to them?>

That was the end. I did not hear the god’s voice anymore.

“There’s no need to do that. I wish to keep coming here.”

I started to speak into thin air.

But I didn’t hear the god’s voice any longer.

I heard Jonnan and Eruni’s voices instead.

“What are you doing? Who are you talking to?”

“Master. Are you okay? It’s me, Eruni.”

Damn it, is it really ending like this? They say that life is like a dream, but this is too much.

On the one hand, I guess it is a relief.

I should be thankful that I kept my life. I never expected that I would successfully complete this mission.

“Hey. Hwi Ram!”

It was all thanks to Jonnan and Eruni.

It was really unexpected. I didn’t expect them to find a way to come in here by committing suicide. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to make such a decision.

That showed how much they cared for me.

“Thank you very much. Senior. Thank you, Eruni.”

I tightly hugged Jonnan and Eruni.

Jonnan and Eruni finally let out sighs of relief and shared in the joy as well.

* * *

I opened my eyes.

I saw a white ceiling. I could feel a rocking movement as well.

I was on a ship on the East Sea.

‘I guess that really is it. I can’t go back.’

It had been close to 20 days. I went to sleep every night after returning to the real world and looked around every morning when I woke up.

And I reconfirmed it every morning.

I couldn’t go into Royal Roader any longer. I received eternal rest as the god had told me.

‘Damn it, it’s not rest in my point of view.’

But I wasn’t disappointed. Not everything had completely disappeared.

I opened my smartphone.

The Royal Roader homepage was still there. My information was there and the jewel box under it was there as well.

My jewel box was full of jewels.

[Jewel of Creation: 532]

[Jewel of Luck: 4,560]

[Chaos Jewel: 252]

[Jewel of Fortification: 489]

[Jewel of the Mind’s Eye: 1]

My virtual account had close to two trillion won as well.

Of course, the money was meaningless. My wealth here was already much higher than twenty trillion won. I also had a significant amount of money coming in every day as well.

I should be able to live however I want without having to worry about money for the rest of my life.

“Son, are you still not up?”

It was my mother’s voice.

It seems like the sun was about to rise.

“I’m up. I’ll be right out.”

I opened the door and stepped out. The cold air brushed past me.

“It’s cold. Why don’t you wear some more clothes?”

“I guess I should.”

I put on some warm clothes and stepped onto the deck.

A lot of people were already on the deck. My sister, Lee Man Bok’s family, Kang Sung Ho and others I cherished were all here.

“Your timing really is amazing. The sun is right about to rise.”

Was it because of my experience in Royal Roader?

My feelings for Kang Sung Ho and the rest of my people felt slightly different than before.

They were just my people in the past. They were people who worked for me. In return, I gave them sufficient compensation.

I thought that that was the best relationship for us.

But it was different now. I guess they’re just people that I feel pulled to?

People who would be willing to sacrifice themselves even when I couldn’t do anything for them. I hoped they could be like that.

Of course, that was just my being greedy.

But at least I felt that way. I wanted to have a relationship with them that was not about money nor wealth but friendship.

I guess it all depends on how I act.

Just like how Jonnan and Eruni had done in Royal Roader.

“Oh, it’s coming up!”

“I’m going to go deaf, you punk.”

“Haha, I’m sorry.”

We all looked out to the east.

It really was a beautiful sunrise. The weather was perfect and there wasn’t even the smallest amount of fog. We watched the sun rise above the horizon.

I heard it was really hard to see a sunrise like this.

I guess today is a really lucky day. We were able to see a sunrise like this without even using a Jewel of Luck.

It felt like a feeling as beautiful as the sunrise was filling my heart.

One week later.

“Did you understand the movements?”

“Yes.”

I confidently nodded my head.

The martial arts director looked at me with a bit of concern.

I guess it makes sense. The movements were quite complicated. But I nodded my head too easily after just one explanation.

Anybody would think that I just half-listened and nonchalantly responded.

“A small mistake can lead to serious injuries. Are you sure you got it?”

“Please don’t worry about me.”

I responded with confidence again.

The martial arts director nodded his head. He then nodded his head toward Director Wachowski.

“Director. Let’s give it a go.”

“Okay. Everybody ready? Ready, action!”

The stuntmen started to move once the director called action.

They were coming at me from the left, right, front and back.

My body moved in fancy ways each time. I jumped into the air, twisted my body and even kicked toward the stuntmen.

Of course, the kicks stopped right before it hit them. There might really be serious injuries as the Martial arts director mentioned if I hit them for real.

It was a pretty long scene for it being the first take. The director seemed to have started with a difficult scene in order to show me the challenges of acting.

She probably wanted to make me modest with this scene before filming for real.

However, the director’s plan didn’t play out. These kinds of movements were too easy for me.

I would say something if the director could understand what I was saying.

‘Do you know the world of Royal Roader?’

I moved in much more eloquent ways in Royal Roader. Their eyes would probably fall out if I used Drake’s TBSA in the real world.

The 10 seconds of action ended like that.

People shouted in amazement all around.

“Wow! What was that?”

“Mr. Kang Hwi Ram, you were that skilled in martial arts? That was amazing.”

Clap clap clap-

It wasn’t just my martial arts. I’m confident that my acting skills were at the same level of famous Hollywood actors. I confirmed the acting skill I created with the Jewel of Creation before coming here.

But this is really fun.

I should just leave the business to the businessmen and enjoy my life like this.

The start of act 2 of my life.

“Shall we start the next scene then?”

Translator’s Final Comments: Well… that was a rushed car accident of an ending… author’s final words indicate that the novel’s poor performance must mean that he did not meet the reader’s expectations. He wants to pat himself on the back that he did not let this affect the novel too much as he clenched his teeth and finished the novel.

This novel was 1,087,828 characters in Korean. I have no idea how many words it is in English, but dang, I’ve now translated over 6 million Korean characters among all my novels. Time sure does fly since I started this novel in…2017. It took much longer than I expected to finish but phew, it’s done! Thank you for keeping up with this novel and I’m disappointed in the ending but glad that we concluded this journey. Stay safe everyone!
