Chapter 173 - She Selected The Riskiest Boat!!

"Good morning." Brina greeted her teammates. The previous day, she had spent her whole day with them, trying to know them better.

And, today is the first event!

"Woke up faster than we expected! Seems like yesterday your favorite person hasn't come." Charlotte teases Brina.

Louis didn't come yesterday because of his grandmother Greta who again asked him to accompany her.

"Yep." Brina said, pursing her lips.

The servants served breakfast to four of them, while they chatted.

"Brina, the event starts little in the afternoon. So, we have to get you ready by noon itself.. and we must reach there by evening seven." Calvin told her.

Brina nodded her head and continued eating.

"Moreover Brina, you have to be careful. As you are totally a new person and sponsored by House of Landon, the paparazzi might concentrate more on you." Charlotte said.

"It's a good thing that she has a mask to hide her face." Hailey said.

"Yes. But, Brina.. are you sure that you don't want to have a basic sailing class? We still have four hours before the event." Calvin asked.

Hailey isn't familiar with sailing while Charlotte is just above average.

Only he has good skills but sailing is about teamwork. At least three out of four people should be good at it to win.

"I am good. Don't worry." Brina said.

….

In the afternoon

Brina got dressed in a violet dress which just reached a little above her knees. Her black hair is left free as it bundled up on both of her shoulders.

A sailing hat was covering her face from the scorching sun of noon. As it's a masquerade theme, she is equipped with her mask, hiding her face features.

She was looking beautiful and elegant. Unlike her masquerade dress which emanated alluring vibes, this dress gave her a versatile look.

"Ahh.. the air is so intense here." Hailey commented, fixing her mask properly.

"It will be more intense during sailing, Hailey. The competitors here are given no mercy as they have to be the powerful Queen." Calvin said.

In the history of their Kingdom, the Queens has equal glory as of the Kings. They need to be seen as strong as Kings.

"I could feel my chills already. See that Katherine and Olivia. Their teams look formidable." Hailey told them again.

"They are indeed. They are pro in most of the things.. they are trained for all the most aspects." Charlotte said.

However, Brina was looking at Olivia's parents. More like glaring daggers at them.

It's really been many years, she saw their disgusting faces.

Covering her face properly with her mask, Brina fixed her hat.

It's good that Olivia's parents aren't still becoming the court members of the Royal Society. Her grandfather and grandmother still hold that place.

Olivia's father just visits the court for the ordinary meetings. Though he is next in line, his father still hasn't given up his position yet.

It's because he doesn't trust Olivia's father yet.

"Brina? Brina?" Charlotte shook her shoulders, bringing her back from her reverie.

"Hmm?" Brina looked at Charlotte and instantly stiffened.

It's the King, Queen and the Queen mother.

They are looking at their team.

"Your Highness." Brina instantly greeted and bowed in a ladylike style.

King hummed in approval. Though she is new to this life, she is indeed getting accustomed to the rules here.

"All the best on your first adventure, House of Landon." he wished them with a smile.

Brina smiled politely. "May the best team wins, Your Highness." she said.

"Hmm.. may the best team win." he smiled approvingly and then walked to the next team which was Amelia's.

Queen Elora gave her a friendly smile in secret and followed her husband.

"I hope you learned the basics, Lady Brina. Better don't humiliate House of Landon for selecting you." Queen Mother Greta sarcastically 'wished' before going away.

Meanwhile, Brina didn't take it to her heart.

This isn't the first time she is facing this type of person.

Meanwhile, Louis who just entered the arena with Daniel, Eliina and some of his cousins, while the people who were waiting outside cheered on them.

As they weren't allowed to be near to the shore, they could only occupy the place designed for them.

Louis smiled at all of them and gave answers to the press before he entered the arena together with everyone who came with him.

His eyes instantly met with Brina's and they broke the eye contact instantly. However, that split second was enough for them to transfer their love.

Later at night, they can love each other as much as they want.

Soon, the Royal Guards took their own place and the trumpet sounded, indicating that the competitors have to go inside the tent to meet with the Cultural Minister, Sir Martin who will explain more further about the rules and also explain to them briefly about the weather.

Later they had to select their boats and the special guest would be also allotted for them.

….

"So, which one did you select, Brina?" Calvin anxiously asked.

She just returned after fifteen minutes of her time in the tent.

"Boat number six." Brina said.

Just now, everyone got to see the boats which would be used to sailing later.

They are numbered from one to eight. One each for Seven Houses and the other one is for the Princess of the Kingdom of Sophene.

"What?!" Calvin asked, almost feeling like his heart about to stop.

"It's Ketch?! One of the toughest one to handle?" he deadpanned.

"But, it's the best choice for today's wind direct and water current." Brina said.

"How? We are now having crosswind, Brina? Ketch is good for downwind." he asked, angrily.

"Ketch is good for downwind and also efficient for upwinds.. though it's not that efficient.. on par, it's considerably okay." Brina said.

"What's your tactic again girl? I am sure others will be laughing at you." Calvin sighed.
