191 The next level of the dungeon

Don took the first watch while the others slept and then Knight took the watch. After a long dark night, the daylight appeared with the chirping of the birds.

"Let's go"

Knight said and although there was no light beam appeared that would take them to the next level, he decided to roam around the place for a bit in case they had missed some treasures or something interesting before.

Don buried the campfire and everything they used in the ground and followed Knight as Arrora, the tigress, and the cubs followed the two behind.

"I have to warn you, traveling with us is no pleasant journey, we have a tendency to find trouble or create one"

Knight warned the tigress but she had already expected because she knew that they couldn't have reached their cultivation level and battle technique without undergoing a lot of real battles.

"So if you want to put them in the ring, you can do that"

However, the tigress laughed hearing Knight

"No need, they are little and cute but that doesn't mean they are weak, the three of them are mid-level great masters"

The three cubs raised their heads and walked with a swagger which made Arrora giggle.

"How old are they? Are they geniuses or something?"

Knight was really surprised because even in the divine continent standard, these cubs would be considered prodigies or blessed children.

"You have already seen their superpower, their appetite"

Knight had indeed noticed their appetites as each cub ate a potion for a full-grown man like Don and him with their little bellies.

"They ate my precious and rare herbs in a few days and absorbed their energies in a godly speed, I lost count of how many herbs and pills I brought them, and if they hadn't reached their level they in now, I would have had a heart attack"

If the three cubs were in the outside world, it would cause a war among the kingdoms to get them considering they could reach and cross the heavenly realm in the future. However, Knight wasn't sure that they could have provided herbs and pills in the outside world like the tigress did here.

Yet, how much they could eat and absorb with their little bodies was still a shock to Knight.

"What do you know about the next level?"

Don asked the tigress to get some information since she was born and raised here.

"All I know is up to this level, the portal would only appear once in 19 years, so I didn't get a chance to go and check what on the other side of the portal but I always wanted to go there"

"Then we can go together and rob the place, hehe"

Knight chuckled

"Hold your horses, I didn't go there but I didn't say I don't know anything about that place"

Knight and Don stopped walking and turned back to look at the tigress

They were in layer two so that meant they have three more layers to explore and loot but looking at the tigress's face, they realized that it's not going to be an easy task to accomplish.

"According to his notes which was pretty detailed, the next layer contains armors, weapons, and ancient blueprints"

"Why can't we rob the place?"

"Because they won't be in a physical space that you can barge in and rob, on the other side, there are arenas, at least that's what my uncle called them, if you want the treasures the only way to do so is to step into the arena and face the challenge"

"What kind of challenges?"

"My uncle mentioned that each contender have to face waves of various life forms, powerful ones, each level you complete, a treasure will appear from nowhere"

"Since the portal suppressed the cultivation level, isn't it obvious that all of them will be stuck after a certain wave? "

Knight asked as Arrora and Don looked at the tigress for her answer

"That's where it gets tricky, according to my uncle, the arena's challenges are intended to test someone's battle techniques? So according to him, someone with much battle experience and superior techniques should be able to pass more waves than someone who lacks in those"

"How many levels are there in the arena?"

"No one knows, my uncle reached wave six and he was damn good in fighting"

"It seems we may not be able to keep our heads low in there, Viper"

If one thing they had more than the wealth in their rings, it was the battle experience. The two of them honed their skills by facing countless battles and near-death encounters, so if the arena favored those who had more battle experience, Don and Knight wouldn't have a hard time in the arena.

"Change your faces and robes"

Knight said and pointed out a big tree near them as Arrora and Don nodded

"Where are you going?"

The tigress and the cubs followed the three of them behind the tree.

"Oh we forgot"

When they reached behind the tree where nobody could see them, Knight turned to see Arrora is standing there uncomfortably as Don removed his shirt.

"We won't look at you"

Knight and Don turned their heads to the other side

"Why are you acting shy? Aren't you all men here? If anyone should be shy, it's me"

The tigress rolled her eyes as Don changed his robes in a flash and after a few seconds, Arrora also wore new robes.

"What's the point in changing your robes?"

The tigress asked but her eyes went wide in surprise and shock when she saw Don's face transform into a new face as Knight transformed into a bear from the wolf.

With the same surprised look on her face, she turned to see Arrora also changed her face.

"What kind of magic is this? How ?"

Although she heard of spells that would change someone's face to hide their identity, the spells won't fool someone who crossed the mid-level great master and those spells were lost in time. However, she couldn't see through their new faces as it didn't let out any magical signatures of a spell or item. If she didn't see them changing their faces before her, she wouldn't have believed them as the ones that she met last night.

"Come with us and we'll show you the things that you would have never even dreamed of"

"That means you won't tell me if I ask now"

"Yep"

After changing her face, the cubs frowned and growled at Arrora when she went to pet them but after they caught her familiar scent, they quickly jumped into her hand and started licking her face.

"Fine"

The tigress growled and the next moment, they heard a clap of thunder and saw a light beam appear in the distance.

"Come on, let's go"

The three of them didn't waste any moments as they moved like lightning.

When they got closer, they saw a horde of magical beasts walking towards the light beam and on the other side, the youths came running as fast as they could.

No one spent any time quarreling with the beasts or looking at others, they went straight into the light beam to reach the next layer. After they stepped into the light beam, they appeared before a huge tube-shaped building.

Every floor in the building had their own projections showing the inside and at this moment, the floors seemed empty.

There were no entrances to the building as beasts and the youths stood before the building forming a crowd.

"If they are here, I will find those bastards"

Don heard an angry shout from the crowd and recognized the one who was shouting, a youth who lost his restoration pills to them.

"They must be here somewhere, look for a white wolf"

When the tigress heard this, she realized that they were searching for her companions but when she looked at Knight, he was whistling and Don and Arrora stood there like they didn't know anything.

"Do you guys are searching for someone?"

Don noticed a girl from the herbal garden asking the youths who were searching for them.

"Yes, three bloody bandits, they stole the rings from some of my friends, and I'm planning to get their rings back"

Knight chuckled inside hearing the youth talking so bravely because he remembered that this youth was the one who cried not to take his ring.

"Sister Aster"

The girl shouted when she heard the youth and in a few moments, they saw Aster joining the youth and his group. The usual smile she had on her face was nowhere to be found as now she looked enraged. By stealing their rings, the three of them ended their adventure in the dungeon because even if they could find treasures, they could only carry a handful of them without their space ring.

"Sister Aster, the thieves who stole from us and the thieves they are searching must be the same people"

"They stole from you too?"

The youths from the first group who got robbed first asked the girls.

"Yes, they stole from us"

Unlike the lying youth, Aster spoke the truth with the gritted teeth.

"Aster, what happened?"

The group turned to see Rosaline walking towards them and when Aster saw her, tears started to flow out of Aster's eyes.
