Book 9: Epilogue – Wedding

Afterwards.

Apparently, there was a bit of a riot in the Parliament.

The scandals of the minister, who was the head of the majority faction, were taken very seriously, and his power was greatly diminished.

Added with Blossom being recognized as a city and Queen Isabelle revealing herself, it seems that the appearance discrimination has begun to calm down a bit.

Of course, the discrimination isn’t completely gone yet.

Still, discrimination and similar acts being done in the past are now less likely to happen, and it will only get better in the future.

“Master?”

“Ah, yes.”

Edith called out to me, and I replied in a hurry.

I didn’t realize I was already walking in circles around the room.

This chapter is made by neorecormon of stabbing with a syringe translations.

“Why don’t you calm down here for a bit?”

“Yeah, I guess so.”

Nervously, I nodded.

Now that Blossom is officially recognized as a city, some things have changed.

For example, the government now provides a proper budget for the maintenance of roads and facilities, leading to Blossom.

And with discrimination now discouraged, the city has now been able to have a proper relationship with its neighboring towns and merchants.

And finally, the City Hall is now fully established and formalized.

In other words, Irene and I could officially get married.

And today, Blossom’s city hall is formally up and running.

“Tomo?”

“Y-YES!”

Irene appeared in the room and called out to me.

I took a deep breath once and then walked towards her.

“Shall we go now?”

In her hand is a paper that certifies our marriage, already filled out.

And in the other, it is already open, ready to be held out by me.

I took her hand in mine, and Irene’s soft palms squeezes it back with force.

“Take care, master, Lady Irene. We’ll see you later.”

“Yeah, I’ll see you later, Edith.”

Irene smiled back at Edith as she sent us off.

We headed straight to the city hall.

As soon as Blossom was finally recognized as a city, we were able to submit a notification to the city hall at the central.

As I was a person from another world who’s used to filling up a lot of documents, I had done my paperwork without a hitch. This is also thanks to Edith’s tutoring. If not for her, I wouldn’t be able to write my name in the marriage certificate like this.

However, rather than submitting it to the city hall in the central, I decided to do it in the city of Blossom.

As for the reason? Well, it’s because this is the city that Irene created, and has now become a symbol of liberation from the discrimination against people for their appearance.

But above all, it was the city where Irene and I met.

So, even though it’s a little late, we decided to file our marriage certificate as the first formal document in this city.

I look at Irene’s face as she walks next to me.

I’m going to marry this beautiful person.

When I think of this, I feel a surge of happiness.

“What’s the matter, Tomo?”

She notices my gaze and tilts her head towards me.

It’s still too early to say my overflowing thoughts at this moment, so I responded short.

“It’s nothing.”

But no matter how hard it is to endure, I still couldn’t help but make a loose face.

“You’re really weird.”

Irene’s cheeks have been loosened since a while ago, despite saying it.

We arrived at the town hall with a fluffy feeling.

We were the first to pass through the door and enter the city hall.

It was a beautiful, newly built city hall. We went straight into one of the counters.

“Together, shall we?”

“With pleasure.”

The two of us took the certification and submitted it to one of the tellers at the city hall.

The official at the counter checked all the items on the spot and stamped the government seal of approval.

“Your submission is now fully accepted. Congratulations.”

She told us with a smile.

We were now officially husband and wife.

“Tomo.”

“Irene.”

We stare at each other and gulp down the attempt to hug each other as it is. This isn’t the only event of the day.

We hold hands and move towards the church.

Now we were going to have our wedding ceremony.

“That’s why, master……”

“Yesh?”

When Edith, who had changed into a party dress, approached me, I hurriedly replied.

As expected of a royalty, the way she wears her flashy dress is really a sight to behold.

When I was about to mention this to Edith when I saw her dressed, she chided me, “You should save that word for today.”

“You are too restless, aren’t you? You need to sit up straighter. We have already gone this far, so it’s already unnecessary to worry about anything.”

‘Y-yeah, you’re right.”

I nodded vaguely and looked down at my outfit.

It’s a wedding tuxedo. The familiar outfit makes me even more nervous.

Then there’s a knock at the door. A maid has come to call us.

I went with Edith to the room where Irene was waiting for me. Soon as I knocked, the door quickly opened from the other side.

“……………”

I couldn’t speak, as I couldn’t help but stop and look at the beauty in front of me.

Ever since I first saw her, I’d always thought Irene is beautiful.

Yet, she looked even more stunning in her wedding dress.

“What do you think?”

“Very, very beautiful.”

Those words were asked shyly, perhaps because I was staring at her hard. I couldn’t think of anything else to say, so I just said what was on my mind.

“I see. Thank goodness.”

With that, Irene smiled, her cheeks coloring red.

It was a good thing I had seen her before the ceremony.

If I had seen this figure without any preparation at the ceremony, I would have frozen over from her beauty.

“You’re as lovely as ever, Lady Irene.”

“Thank you, Edith.”

Edith, like me, looks at her in a mesmerized way.

Yet it was also her who had come to her senses a step earlier. Upon noticing me staring still, she poked me with her elbow.

“Come on, master, it’s time to move on. Your ogling can wait a bit later.”

“Ah, yeah. It’s time to go. Haha.”

But even as I answered, my mind remained trapped in Irene’s.

“Master! Now!”

“Ah, yes! I’m coming!”

Finally, arriving at my senses, I went together with Edith.

Finally, it’s our long-awaited wedding, Irene and I.

As the groom, I enter before the bride, and I nervously paced to the front of the altar.

Everyone has rushed to the ceremony to congratulate us on our marriage.

Edith, of course, and Julie and Nina, who has spent time in the same city as us, as well as Annette and Clarice.

Even Suzette, who must have been busy in the central, and Isabelle, the queen, joined us.

Mio also flew in from Kyou just for this day.

And it was Sister Marietta who performed the ceremony at the altar.

Dressed in her ceremonial dress for weddings, Marietta was filled with a different kind of dignity than usual. Her tight figure made me nervous as she reminded me once again that today was a special day.

Then Irene enters the church.

All eyes in the hall turn to her.

I watch as she walks slowly towards us. She’s as beautiful as ever in her wedding dress.

Everyone is also marveling at her.

Irene came up to me and took my arm and wrapped it around her own.

I felt her warmth, and my face tensed over.

Marietta’s voice then echoes, and the ceremony begins.

***

The ceremony went on without a hitch, and we were asked to exchange rings.

I take the ring, trembling with nervousness, and lift Irene’s left hand in mine. Touching her smooth, warm skin, I feel my nerves ease a little.

Smiling in front of me is Irene, the woman who has always guided me since the first time we were together.

I put a silver ring through her thin ring finger.

“Tomo.”

She murmured, entranced. I nodded strong.

Next, Irene’s small hand lifted my left hand. I felt assured as her hand wrapped around me.

With her delicate hands, she put the ring on me.

“Then, the kiss to seal your vows.”

At Marietta’s urging, we stared at each other.

Irene’s eyes were looking straight at me.

Until today, a lot of things have happened.

I’m really glad that Irene was the first person I met when I came to this other world.

Just as we promised in the beginning, we are finally going to become husband and wife.

I put my hand on her cheek. Then I whisper to her.

In the church of Blossom, now recognized as a city, with everyone looking up to us.

I kissed my beloved’s lips softly.
