Chapter 189: The Generous Lord

In a fancy restaurant inside the ship, every passenger, and even every crew of the restaurant were all staring at one table. Their whispers, even louder than the waves outside.

Almost all of the waiters were on the side, their hands filled with different kinds of dishes, but for some reason, none of them were placing the meal on the table they are supposed to go to. The clanging of the plates from their tray masked the sound of their trembling jaw.

"What are you guys doing!?", it was then that a waitress grabbed a tray from one of the petrified waiters, "Give me that!", she bellowed as she started walking towards the table that all of the people were staring at.

"We're sorry for the delay", she politely said in a soft tone as she placed the dishes on the table one by one, "We hope you like the food"

Seeing their Head Waitress placing the plates on the table, the others followed through and also approached the notorious table. Their movements were swift and quick, only bowing after they were done and leaving as soon as everything was placed on the table.

The Head Waitress could not help but look at the golden-haired kid that all of the people seemed to be wary of. Unlike the rest of her team, she did not leave the restaurant when all the commotion was happening earlier. She was slightly regretting it now, as all of them were mentioning that the Spirit of the Ocean has shown itself.

There was also another thing that caught her ear-- that a golden-haired boy cleared a dungeon within a minute and managed to calm down the Ocean Spirit. And right now, her eyes were fixated on that golden-haired boy.

She was about to open her mouth to say something, but one of the other waiters pulled her away.

"Ah, finally!", Viel clapped his hands as soon as all of the dishes they ordered were finally on the table. There were only 6 of them, but the food they had on their table was good enough to feed an entire small village.

"This…", Diao Chan could not help but lower her eyebrows and sigh. Viel shamelessly asked earlier if she could treat them to a meal. Of course, since she was the only mother in the group, not to mention she was the one who requested Viel and the other's help, she agreed without any hesitation. But to think… it was going to be this many.

This was also their first day, no, their first meal on the ship. If it was going to be like this for 2 more weeks, then Diao Chan was afraid that the money she brought wouldn't be enough.

"Thank you for treating us, Miss Diao", Sofia slightly bowed her head towards Diao Chan, who could only chuckle in response, "I will shoulder the next meal", Sofia then said as she looked at Diao Chan's complicated expression.

It was not that obvious, but Sofia was somewhat excited about the meal. A large steamed crab with soy sauce and chili on the side, shrimp that were covered in butter and garlic, oyster with what seemed to be melted cheese on top of it, there were more dishes, but Sofia could not make them out anymore.

Aside from the crab, Sofia had not tasted any of these dishes before since their kingdom was far from the sea, so she was, in a word, excited. And so, she started eating.

The rest of the group have also gotten their plates full, all except for Lu Xun, who couldn't eat because he still could not believe what he saw earlier. Are they really going to eat like this as nothing happened earlier? He thought as he looked at his group.

Add the fact that almost all of the people in the restaurant were looking at them, Lu Xun could barely even breathe.

"Sofi, look…", Viel suddenly stopped eating as he picked up something from his plate, "It's the Ocean Spirit"

He then started waving around a fish, placing the shell of a crab on top of it and using its claw as a beak, "Thank you for healing me, little one", Viel said in a feminine voice as he continued to wave the fish.

"Vi!", Sofia quickly retrieved the abomination that Viel assembled and placed it back on his plate, "How old are you to still be playing with your food!?"

And Viel, as if not hearing anything, just started eating again as he awkwardly glanced towards Yinji.

After a few more minutes, a group of men entered the restaurant, all wearing a white uniform. The one in front of the group, an old man with a red beard, quickly scanned the room as they entered, his eyes then settled towards Viel and the other's table and slowly approached it.

"Good day to all of you", the man with the red beard spoke, "I am Captain Redbeard", the man calling himself Captain Redbeard slightly bowed as he took off his hat.

"Greetings", Diao Chan quickly stopped eating as she stood up and bowed towards the bearded man.

The whispers in the restaurant quickly died down as the captain of the ship suddenly arrived in the restaurant. The Ocean Master was almost a city of its own, and accordingly, the Captain is considered as its Lord.

Seeing Diao Chan standing up and bowing towards him, Captain Redbeard quickly waved his hand and gestured for Diao Chan to sit, "Aren't you the daughter of Diao Gang?"

"Y… yes?", Diao Chan slightly tilted her head. Does this man know her father?

Captain Redbeard laughed robustly as soon as he heard that, "I thought so. You were still small the last time I saw you", he said as he placed the edge of his palm on his knee.

"I see", Diao Chan slightly furrowed her eyebrows as she returned to her seat, she has no recollection whatsoever of this old man.

Captain Redbeard then proceeded to look towards Viel, Yinji, and Sofia. "I heard that the three of you saved us as well as the Spirit of the Ocean", he said in a soft tone as he slightly bowed his head, "I wish I could have seen it with my own eyes"

Viel and the others, however, did not heed him any mind and just continued on eating. Captain Redbeard could only clear his throat as he once again bowed his head, "On behalf of all my crew, I thank you for saving us", he said, his tone filled with sincerity.

"Some passengers do not know what you have done for them", he continued, "May I ask who all of you are so we can announce to the people your names?"

"Uhmm…", Diao Chan could not help but form a complicated expression on her face. Captain Redbeard has been talking for a while, but the three seemed to be completely ignoring him. Even her daughter was copying Yinji and not heeding the Captain any mind.

Diao Chan was about to say something, but Viel suddenly stood up from his seat as he wiped his mouth with a napkin. He then looked at the Captain straight in the eyes.

"I am Viel…", he said as he elegantly placed the napkin on the table, "Generous Lord of Xingcai City, the breaker of chains, the savior of the Drifter children"

"!!!"
