Chapter 146: Famous

A loud gasp echoed in the room as Viel woke up from his sleep. His heavy breaths filled the room as he wiped the sweat that showered his face.

Viel looked around, only to find himself in an unfamiliar room. No, it wasn't really unfamiliar. He could only sigh and shake his head.

He was back. He was back in his own room. And yet…

It's probably the bed, he thought. He should probably buy a bigger one. Both he and Sofia seemed to fit well last night, but now it felt like the bed was too small for him.

"Are you okay, Viel!?"

"Kya!"

Viel quickly covered his body with his blanket as a woman suddenly barged inside his room.

"W-what's wrong, sister Xing Cai?", Viel sighed as he slowly stood up.

"I heard you shouting", Xing Cai said as she gripped the handle of the door tightly.

"Oh", Viel chuckled, "It's nothing, just a funny dream", Viel said.

"Hmm", Xing Cai squinted her eyes, "I've already prepared something to eat, come out when you are ready", Xing Cai released a sigh of relief as she closed the door gently.

Sofia was already seated at the dining table, looking half asleep as her eyes were slightly closed and her hair disheveled.

"Gesch...immer"

"Hm?", Xing Cai could not help but raise her eyebrows as she heard Sofia muttering something quietly.

"Alpt...ume", Sofia once again muttered something.

"Oh", Xing Cai quickly ran to her room, only to come out holding the weird stick with an orb. This stick, Wand of Tongues as it is called, is one of the common rewards that one could get from the dungeon. It had the ability to somewhat make the people within a certain area understand each other, even when they are not speaking the same language.

It does not work with animals.

"What was that?", Xing Cai looked at Sofia as she inserted some qi in the wand.

"He always wakes up like that", Sofia yawned, "Always the same nightmares"

"Nightmares?", Xing Cai furrowed her eyebrows, "Always?"

"Yes", Sofia said as she stared at the food on the table, "May I start eating?"

Almost all of the dishes in front of her were something she has never seen before, she was, as always, curious.

"S-sure"

Sofia at the spoon and the two sticks that were in front of her. According to her knowledge, these two sticks were called… chopsticks. The people in their world also use this, but Sofia hasn't really tried using it before, and so, without any hesitation, she picked up the spoon and tried the weird-looking soup in front of her.

And as soon as she placed it in her mouth, all the traces of drowsiness in her eyes disappeared as her eyes opened wide.

Her nose started to twitch as her face became red.

"You prepared food, sister Xing Cai?"

It was then that Viel finally left his room.

"Ah yes", Xing Cai smiled, "I never got the chance to cook for you, so I might-"

"Spicy…"

Xing Cai's words were interrupted when she heard incessant coughing coming from behind her. Both she and Viel quickly turned towards Sofia, only to see her groveling on the floor, her face completely red.

Xing Cai looked at the table, only to see a spoon sprawled in front of the…

"Ah! That's chili oil!", Xing Cai as she quickly poured Sofia a glass of water.

Sofia continued to cough, her tears already falling from her face.

"KAKAKAKAKA!"

And so, Viel's laugh and Sofia's coughs filled the house, completely waking up the whole house from its long slumber.

"I have a new adventurer name for you, Sofie"

The three were now walking outside. Viel and Sofia were following Xing Cai so that they could register themselves as explorers so there won't be any problems in the future.

"...Chili W-witch..pfff", Viel covered his mouth, but his muffled laugh still pierced the ears of Sofia.

"D-don't you have something to say to your sister?", Sofia suddenly said, perhaps her best way to change the topic.

"Eh, do I?", Viel tilted his head.

Xing Cai, who was walking ahead, could not help but be curious as she stopped and turned her head towards Viel.

"Her sect?", Sofia whispered.

"Ah!", Viel pointed at Xing Cai. He then jogged towards her and softly placed his lips near Xing Cai's ear.

"Your disappointing brothers and sisters are back", he whispered, "and a-also...Big sister Yinji"

Xing Cai's eyes instantly widened as soon as he heard Viel's words. She… completely forgot about them.

Throughout these years, she was so obsessed with trying to find Viel that he was the only thing in her mind. Of course, if Viel was here, there was also a huge chance that the Golden Pavilion were back.

But, calling their Matriarch as Big sister Yinji? Were… Viel and the Matriarch close?

After thinking about it for a while, Xing Cai just released a sigh. "I see, I will visit them sometime soon", she said, "For now, let's have the two of you registered as explorers"

"Do we also get to pick names!?", Viel excitedly said.

"Names?"

"Yes", Viel then grabbed something from his pocket and showed it to Xing Cai. It looked something like a gold card.

"See? This is mine", Viel chuckled, "Back in the other world, you see, I am a famous Gold Rank adventurer known as… Mr. Voice", Viel covered half his face with the gold card.

"I...I see", Xing Cai chuckled awkwardly.

"Fufufu, you impres-"

"We're here"

Before Viel can finish gloating, they finally arrive at their destination, a huge building, way bigger than even the newly renovated adventurer's guild in Burgerstatter.

The building was about a one hour walk from Viel's house. Taizhou city really had grown exponentially in size. 7 years ago, it would only take half an hour to get from one end of the city to another. But now, it took an hour just to get to another establishment.

For 7 years, this was an abnormal growth. But Viel didn't really think much of it.

"Xing Cai!"

As soon as they arrived, Guang Yan ran towards them while waving their hand. Hearing someone call Xing Cai's name, all the people that were loitering outside the building looked towards their group.

"L-look, it's master Xing Cai!"

"Today is our lucky day!"

"You think we can talk to her?"

"I want to have her babies!"

Whispers and shouts suddenly erupted in the area as they all stared at Xing Cai. Xing Cai, however, only glanced at Viel with a smirk on her face.

"What's that you said about being famous?"
