51 Examination

We enter the examination room and meet with the doctor who will do the examination to my wife. The doctor is a female around 33 years old ages, with the name Lin Xia, she looks kind and friendly. And after take some record of my wife health history, taking the pulse, she invites my wife to sit at a chair that usually used by a gynecologist. She pulls the curtains so I can see what kind of examination she doing to my wife, all I can do is wait patiently until the examination over. After examination over, she opens the curtain and returns to her desk, my wife also return to sit by my side.

After taking a note of the examination that she just conduct to my wife, Dr. Lin explains to us the result.

"Mr. and Mrs. You, how long you've been married?"

"Couple months, doc"

"So this is your first child, right? Congratulation"

"Thanks, doc, and what is the result from the examination?"

"Mr. You, your wife in healthy condition, nothing to worry about. Actually, it would better if she had MR vaccine to prevent meningitis and rubella disease before her pregnancy, but as long as you both can keep life in healthy conditions, that should not be worried"

"Did she need any vaccine during her pregnancy doc?"

"You can take Tdap vaccine when her pregnancy reaches 7-8 months. Another kind of vaccine is not necessary and if possible should be avoided to prevent any bad effect for the fetus"

"Is there any medicine she can't take during pregnancy doc?"

"I suggest your wife did not take any chemical medicine during pregnancy Mr. You because more or less that medicine will cause an effect for the fetus. Medicine with amoxicillin substance, for example, will make your child's teeth have yellow colors"

"Is there any other advice to keep our baby healthy doc?"

"Do you have a pet in the house, Mr. You?"

"No, we didn't doc"

"That's better if you have a cat as a pet and it not always kept at homes, I suggest to keep it away until your child born because the cat can spread Toxoplasma virus to your wife, which can cause a miscarriage"

"I understand doc, lucky we don't have any pet at home. How about the diet?"

"For the fetus development, it would require protein and amino acids and DHA in sufficient amount to make the baby develop well during pregnancy. Just eat a balanced diet with meat, vegetables, and fruits in the daily meal"

I feel satisfied with the thing that Dr. Lin explain to us, but Ming Er seems to want to ask more to her without me around

"Hubby, I have something to consult with Dr. Lin alone, can you wait for me outside?"

"Oh, okay. I already ask what I want to know anyway"

So I left Ming Er alone with Dr. Lin to consult her problem. Seeing me leave Ming Er, make Dr. Lin smile because she understand my wife want to talk something personal, and after I left the examination room, she asks Ming Er

"Mrs. You, you have something to ask to me without your husband present?"

"Yes, Dr. Lin, I feel shy if my husband hear what I'm going to ask"

Dr. Lin only smile hearing what Ming Er said, she already becomes a doctor for six years and has meeting patient with various attitude, she not surprised with Ming Er request

"Don't worry Mrs. You, your husband will not know what we talking here, please say what's in your mind"

"Um, Dr. Lin….during my pregnancy…I think my body become easily aroused lately…is that normal?"

Dr. Lin chuckled when hearing what Ming Er ask, it's not unusual things that happen during pregnancy, and she already faces this problem asked by a young woman many times.

"It's normal Mrs. You, for three first month of pregnancy, your body makes preparation to make your body ready to carry a baby. There're changes in hormones within your body, especially female hormones. There's nothing to worried about that unless your husband feel not comfortable with that and that will cause a phycological burden for the wife. Did your husband complains about that?"

"No, doc. He's not complaining at all, on the contrary, he also enjoys it"

Ming Er explains it with a blushing face. Dr. Lin smiles when looking at it.

"So, in other words, you and your husband have regular sex, right?"

"Um, every night doc. Is that alright for my baby? Is it not harming my pregnancy?"

"If it's normal sex, that it's alright Mrs. You, but when your pregnancy getting older, I suggest you reduce the sex activity"

"Um, I understand doc, I also want to ask about my husband 'thing'"
