25 The Feas

After the cooking is finished we both take bath to clean ourselves from the kitchen smell. Ming Er family also already prepared dress that I will use during the feast. Ming Er wearing tradition dress qipao with red color, while I'm wearing the red robe with flower decoration in the chest.

At seven, the guests start coming. I was introduced to them as Ming Er husband, and they give their blessing for our marriage. One by one guest starts coming until all the seat provided by my father in law was full. Seeing all the guest already coming, my father in law starts giving his speech in front of the guest, which mention about his daughter marriage, introduce me as his son in law, and hope blessing for us from the guest who attends the feast.

After the speech, the ceremony for the wedding is continued by presenting tea for my father and mother in law as the sign of respect from me and Ming Er. After that, we are giving tea to Ming Er older brother, then to the village elders that coming in this feast. And the ceremony is over, time for the guests to eat at our banquet.

The first menu served is the dumpling, which greatly appreciated by the guest for its taste. One of the guests even ask my father in law, where he buys this dumpling

"Old Li, where are you order this food from? Which restaurant? The taste is good"

My father in law seems happy with this praise, but he didn't want to reveal it yet

"Haha....is that so? You haven't eaten the other dish. I'll tell you later about that"

After the dumpling, the next dish served is the soup. This dish also has praised from guest for its bright color and simple but tasty flavor.

"Brother Li, this soup is tasty, the sourness in tomato make my appetite rise after eating it"

"Don't worry brother Cheng, you'll have the main dish after this"

"Hohoho…I can't wait for the next menu"

After the soup finish being served, the next dish is sweet sour chicken. This time guest is invited to take the rice and chicken that already prepared in several tables. The guests start makes a line and take the rice and chicken from the table. Since there are several tables with the dishes, the guests didn't waiting for long to take those dishes. When all the guest already takes their portion, there's only little leftover that left on the dishes. I guess some guests even take more than they should take, fortunately, the amount is sufficient for all guest. Even without they saying anything, that already proof the guest like the dishes.

The last dishes served to the guest is Beijing Kouya Rolls, but some guest that already full decide to keep it and bring it home. Some who still have room in their belly for another dish just eat that on site. But after hearing how delicious these rolls from those who ate that, people who want to take it home can't resist the temptation and start to eat that in the site, despite their full belly.

"Gosh, this roll is superb, duck meat juiciness and bamboo shoot crispiness and fresh taste from the leek. This is a masterpiece!'

"Brother Li, you haven't mentioned where you order this dishes from"

Hearing that kind of comments and questions, my father in law looks very happy. A wide smile from ear to ear can be seen on his face.

"Gentlement, I'm not ordering these dishes from any restaurant at all. This night feast dishes all using the ingredient from my field"

"Really? That can't be. This taste only a master chef can make it"

"That's true gentlemen. Also true that it's a master chef cooking. And that master chef is my son in law. He's the one who cooks all the dishes in this night feast"

"Oooohhhh"

Many admiring voices come from the guest's mouth. Since my father in law already introduces me, I step up and stand beside him while cupped my hands as a sign of regards.

"Old Li, you're lucky to have such son in law. You'll eat something delicious every day"

"Brother Li, can I borrow your son in law when I want to make wedding party for my son?"

"Uncle Li, can you tell me, where's his restaurant address? I want to visit and eat at his restaurant later"

With so many questions from the guests, my father in law and I have to explain them one by one for what they've asked for. But from this feast, I already get some potential customers and also some of them also wanted to be my supplier of ingredients. This feast really bring great advantage for me!
