With the Utsusemis dead, now I just have to get Tobio out of here.

Tobio's was in shock, still watching the dog.

Once again, magical circles appear under the feet of the eliminated subjects. There's not even a sample of them left to send to Azazel.

The only ones left are me, Tobio and the little puppy.

The dog then sniffs and looks in my direction.

I must say, the dog is very adorable, incredibly adorable. And to think that one of the most terrifying and evil beings in mythology is locked up inside him.

"Bark!"

The dog barks in my direction and approaches me, stroking his body against my leg. He then goes towards his owner and stares at him curiously.

"Yours is impressive."

I spoke unconsciously.

What I meant was that the dog is impressive compared to the other two Sacred Gears.

Tobio seems to come out of shock when he turns to look at me.

"Are you all right? You don't seem to have any injuries."

Tobio sat on the spot, his mind inattentive, and replied, "Somehow."

When the light faded, he mumbled the words, "I wish you'd come a bit sooner."

[3rd person POV]

After the series of attacks had ended, as Tobio emerged from the corridor, he looked toward the living room where Drako was sitting on the couch.

"They have attacked again tonight, just as I expected. It seems the agency is getting impatient with our interference. I like that because when you act quickly and without thinking, that's when you make the most mistakes. Still, you've been attacked by two of them at the same time. It must have been tough."

Drako casually said that. Coming under the attack of by two people, and from this guy's perspective, the only word to describe it is "tough".

Currently, Drako was holding the black puppy on his hand. It seems that he was inspecting the depths of the soul of the puppy since he was looking straight on to his eyes. The dog was just like Drako, looking into his heterochromatic eyes.

"I wonder how much of your soul is left inside this Sacred Gear, Lycaon."

Drako muttered a few words that Tobio could not quite understand at the time.

Right now, Tobio's only concern was for Drako's own safety.

Swords grow out of the dog's body!

If Drako knew what Tobio was thinking at that moment, the only word he would have to describe him would be "cute".

But, despite Tobio's worries, Drako held the puppy whose body was now free of blades. Wagging its tail like a normal puppy, it was being fawned on by Drako.

That puppy's small body of jet-black fur contained the potential to slaughtered gods.

"Well, let's get out of here."

Drako made such a proposal.

"Please. Go pack some luggage, but only the basic necessities. Our opponent knows about your house. Besides, even if you defeated them once, after one hour, no, perhaps after thirty minutes they will attack again, right?"

Tobio agreed that the danger had only passed temporarily.

"With a commotion such as this, I wonder if someone reported it."

Tobio suddenly spoke aloud such a thought.

Right, the window was broken, and the bathroom had been destroyed up to the door. With such disruptive sounds, it would not be surprising if the nearby residents started an uproar. However, Drako only looked at him as he was looking at an idiot.

"They finish preparations before an attack, so such a commotion does not occur. Everyone would have remained asleep. They are just a group of strays, they would get eradicated if they got caught even once."

Drako turned towards Tobio and says.

"Let's go to your temporary home, the others are waiting for you."

"Temporary home? The others?"

"Yeah, a place where you can be safe for the time being. For the others… they are just like you, students who have skipped the calamity. There you can get many questions answered, so let go."

Drako palmed Tobio's back.

"Is there truly such a good place? I mean, we could clean up here…"

"Shut up and go get your luggage ready! I don't have the whole night to spend with you."

...…..

Tobio and Drako continued down the road late at night.

Tobio was carrying two large bags, one on his shoulder and the other in his hand. These large bags, which back at the house had been filled with only the minimum necessary things, were being carried as he followed Drako, who was walking through the streets at night.

"At any rate, you won't get attacked with me here."

Drako confidently says so, but it wasn't doing any good to Tobio.

As Tobio carried the heavy luggage, he did his best to keep up with Drako's quick pace. ——To Tobio's rear, the puppy came following after him while trotting.

Suddenly Drako's expression completely changed. He directed his sharp gaze in Tobio's direction. His gaze was focused on what was behind Tobio.

As Tobio look looked back, he saw the black puppy that had been following him was directing its attention at the darkness just shy of the lamp's light and was baring its fangs menacingly.

As it stared at the dark road with narrowed eyes, a gradually approaching figure appeared.

"They are attacking even with me here; I didn't know that they were so desperate. Well, that makes things easier for me."

"No way..."

Tobio uttered anxiously while gulping.

"Yeah, visitors."

Utsusemi——.

A boy steadily approached, looking eerily emotionless, giving rise to a feeling that he lacked a spirit. By his side, there was a snake monster that had appeared from around the corner.

Drako's longbow was already ready to launch an arrow. But before he could do so, suddenly a flame-like phenomenon wound around the snake's body. The serpent was blazing fiercely on the dark road, and with its body writhing, it was turned into charcoal.

While Tobio was at a loss of words at this occurrence, Drako, upon seeing the phenomenon, let out a sigh.

"What a waste of experience…"
