Kuroka kept on the alert. Though she was worried about Drako, she was sure he could deal with the devil, even for a short time. But Kuroka was convinced that these three girls could do nothing against this fallen angel.

It would be instant death.

Besides, it seemed Raynare had a complicated history with this man. Problems with a family member directly related to blood, that was always a complicated thing to deal with.

And it seems like it's not a regular problem. This man, Shuri had called him Suriel, didn't seem to think his niece was a living thing, treating her directly like dirt. This seemed to be because she was a hybrid just like Akeno, whom he was also treating like trash.

Wait.

Raynare was a hybrid?

She had never said anything about this, and Barakiel and Shuri had kept it from her, too. It did not appear that the couple had kept it to themselves because they did not know, as Shuri had not reacted at all to the words of this fallen angel.

"What's going on here?"

Kuroka had to ask. She's a cat, and you know what they say about cats.

"He's Suriel, a former member of Grigori. He's on Grigori's wanted list, a criminal wanted by all organizations. As to the reason for this..." Shuri seemed to hesitate.

She looked up at Raynare, who was paralyzed without moving. The young fallen angel's breathing was quickening greatly, and she barely seemed to be able to stand for long.

Shuri finally sighed, she could not hide this for long. Besides, this might be the best time for Raynare to step forward and overcome her trauma. It was these situations, the least expected, that could perform miracles.

"He is accused of killing his older brother, his wife, and abusing physically and emotionally his niece. That is his crime."

Kuroka shuddered at Shuri's words. After all Kuroka had heard in the past few minutes, she understood perfectly who Shuri was referring to when she spoke of Suriel's niece.

Boop.

Raynare was no longer able to stand, falling to the ground with one blow.

"Pathetic," Suriel mumbled.

Raynare did not even dare raise her head, bending it as far as she could.

Akeno was very frightened as well, she was hiding behind Shuri. She was small, but she understood that the man was addressing her when he was insulting the hybrids. Though surprised to learn that Raynare was like her, Akeno was too afraid to think about it too much.

"Sorry, human whore, but there's something you're wrong about. I never killed my brother or that filthy human sc.u.m. And if abusing my niece is how you consider training a person with some potential, then I can't deny what I did." Suriel says.

"You think I'm going to believe the words of a criminal? Your presence here and your motives, which are quite obvious, are more than proof that you are a criminal. You, Suriel, are evil. Besides, you were the only person at the scene of your brother's murder at the time of the murder. All the evidence is on your person, Suriel."

Shuri says to him, serious face and evident hatred. Shuri did not even bother to hide the hatred she felt for Suriel.

"You're wrong, I wasn't the only person in that place. There was one more person in that house that day."

It seemed the world had come to a standstill for Shuri. What Suriel said was true, there was one more person that day. But she was just a little girl, she wasn't even 8 years old at the time.

Though Shuri could not believe it, she could not help but look at the girl sitting on the floor.

Raynare was the only survivor of the fire that day. That fire that everyone thought Suriel had set.

"Say it, Raynare! Tell this human how you burned your parents alive! Say it!"

Suriel was screaming and gesticulating like a madman.

"No, it wasn't me. It wasn't me. I didn't do it."

Raynare murmured, it seemed her spirit had been torn from her body.

"Yes, you were! I saw it! Vretil, your father, and I are sons of the seraphim Uriel, which makes you his granddaughter. Uriel is similar to Barakiel in a sense. If the latter is known as Lighting of God, the former is known as Fire of God. It's ironic that neither Vretil nor I inherited his sacred fire, but that a filthy hybrid like you did. But not only that, you had to awaken a Sacred Gear of the highest order."

"I didn't do it. Shut up, shut up now. I didn't do it, I didn't do it."

"You did it! But nobody believed me when I said it. Even that bastard Azazel kicked me out of the organization... All because of you! Because of a f.u.c.k.i.n.g hybrid! Because of a mistake that should never have been born! Your power should be mine! Only I deserve Uriel's power!"

Kuroka had no doubts, this guy was totally crazy. She could not bear to see the state Raynare was in, she seemed to be on the verge of breaking down mentally, and was going to interrupt the conversation. But there was something that interrupted her, something that filled her with joy.

Kuroka had been aware of Drako's situation the entire time. As much as she had to protect Shuri and company, she would not hesitate to come to Drako's aid if he found himself in a critical situation.

Currently, Drako's aura was increasing by leaps and bounds.

Drako's size was increasing as well, he seemed to be transforming.

Kuroka knew what was happening.

Drako was evolving.

"GuuuuruugaaaAAAAAAAA!"
