Chapter 57 - The Elves ( 3 )

The Ylmashara Town of the Elves was completely different from the gloomy appearance of the forest.

There's actually a grassland in the center of the forest and even a huge lake at its side.

Cyril and his group were astonished at the size of the town. Based on their estimation, the Town can probably accommodate more than 20,000 elves.

"Commander… Your town looks beautiful and lively. We feel honored just by looking at it from here." Cyril complimented after noticing that the man seems to be waiting for their reaction.

The houses are made of wood and there were ones that are high as the trees. It seems to be about a six-story building.

After hearing Cyril's praise, Druindar proudly smiled as he lead them inside.

As soon as they entered the wooden fence of the town, many elves noticed the new faces and many of them were shocked.

"Humans? What happened?"

"I thought that we will not be entertaining them?"

"I heard that they're taking our resources somewhere else. This island isn't that big, there's no way that we can share it with them."

"It's commander Druindar leading them, I'm sure that he has plans."

"You're right. However, I think they're heading at the Elder's Hall."

"What? They can't even understand us no matter how we try to communicate with them. I'm sure they are planning to bring them into prison on the other side."

"Haha! You might be right. Perhaps I'm overthinking."

Cyril heard the elves clearly. They aren't even bothering to whisper since they thought that they couldn't understand them.

Anyway, Cyril decided to let them think like that for now so he could hear their opinion about them.

'Hmm… At least, none of them are glaring at us. No one seems to be bearing some grudge or deep hatred for humans.'

He can at least make this assumption considering that their eyes are filled with curiosity instead of malice.

Instead of picking up weapons as soon as they saw several humans, they instead gossiped about their purpose for coming here.

For Cyril, this is another positive point considering that they are here to establish a connection.

'For now, I'm the only one who can communicate with the Elves… I can benefit a lot from this.' He mused excitedly after recalling that the Director is giving him a lot of authority during this mission.

As far as he can remember, the Artifact that will allow someone to communicate with the Elves will still not appear for a few years. He was of course planning to take it at an earlier date until Xagan gave him this universal linguistic magic.

As for the Dwarves, only Britta can communicate with them at the moment with her Special Artifact. On the other hand, an Artifact that allows someone to communicate with the Vampires should already be in the hands of the Saint Torido Clan.

"Cyril… Those elves that are looking at us, can you hear what they are saying. Do they have bad intentions?"

Silver asked silently. He seemed to be deeply worried now that they are being surrounded. Well, Cyril could somehow understand him and the others. After all, they know that they are talking about their group since they are looking at them while speaking.

Some of the Elves would laugh and make faces, some would give indifferent gazes, while some would just glance at them and give a contempt look… Of course, this is how Silver and the others interpreted the elves' expressions.

"Don't worry, they don't seem to be planning to harm us. They are just curious about our arrival here."

"That's good to hear. If one of them started pulling out their weapon, I'd really like Sir Silver to use the Escape Crystal… Haha…"

One of the D-Rank Awakened in their group said as he gave a dry laugh.

His name is Gram and considered new to the group. He had just recently joined the Aeson Company so he was mostly observing and just following the orders of the leaders.

"Well… Let's just listen to Sir Cyril." Silver finally smiled for a bit after realizing that the elves doesn't seem to be planning to trap them.

It didn't take long before they arrived in a tall building that is elegantly decorated. The exquisite designs on the pillars, doors, and signage were all handcrafted by the elves.

"Ylmashara Town Hall"

It is what was written above and Cyril whispered it to Silver and others.

Soon, they were brought into a large room with a round table at the center. There are also 12 Elven Guards standing at the corners of the room.

Their group was at the other end of the table as they waited for the Commander to bring the relevant people, or elves, to bring up the discussion of their partnership.

Thud!

After waiting for a while, the door of the meeting room opened as several important figures of the town entered.

There were three beautiful female elves and two old male elves.

As soon as they entered, they gave a glance at Cyril's group who immediately stood up and greeted them.

"It is nice to meet you, Elders… I'm sure that Commander Druindar already introduced us to you but I would like to—"

Cyril wanted to appear polite in front of them but he was immediately cut off by one of the female elves.

He couldn't help but twitch his mouth after being interrupted. Nevertheless, he stopped speaking as she ordered.

The three female elves were at the center while the two old elves stood behind them.

It shows that these pretty elves who appear to be in their thirties have higher status than the old ones.

"I would like to ask questions and you have to answer truthfully. You may have convinced the Commander with your bribe but I need to know your real intention."

The same female elf spoke with a cold voice. She has long red hair and fair white skin similar to the other two.. However, her simple yet elegant circlet on her head shows that she's the boss of this town.
