Chapter 41 - The Cave

Cyril finally learned many things about this dungeon after talking with the Goblin Chief.

As expected, there are other intelligent species living here. One of them is Fire Salamander that is causing real trouble to them. They are bipedal salamander that is capable of breathing fire to fight their enemies.

The other two species weren't that much of a trouble as they are only Golems and Mystic Bats…

"Interesting… Have you been outside this cave?" Cyril asked after learning a bit about the ecosystem of this dungeon.

"Of course, Master Cyril. Two groups from this tribe were hunting for food outside and will normally be back in three days. We can live even without eating for four to five days anyway."

Gaarm replied politely. The goblins may be evil in nature but they can recognize the strong and respect them to survive.

If they are not like this, they wouldn't be able to coexist with the Fire Salamanders and just try to kill them with everything they've got. It would not be a good way to survive.

Nevertheless, since they are focused on their interests, they learned how to negotiate and survive… Only the Golems and Mystic Bats were truly troublesome and they aren't ones who can be negotiated with and would just attack any different species they've seen.

In the past few months, Gaarm can say that over 200 goblins were already killed by the venomous bats inside this cave. If not for their amazing fertility rate, they could be wiped out by these bats already.

"Hmmm… Alright. For now, I want to learn about the valuable things that can be found here. What are those ores you are mining?"

"The redprite ores? We are using them as a source of energy."

Gaarm then explained how those ores are being processed to be used as fuel or even for crafting weapons.

"This… I've never heard about this before."

'I'll try taking them out and see.' Cyril mused as he looked at the bunch of redprite ores in their dwellings.

If he managed to take them out of this Arcane World, then it means that someone managed to monopolize them and avoid being sold to the public market. On the other hand, if he couldn't bring them out, it just means that he was thinking too much as they aren't that valuable in the end.

'Well, I'll do that later.' Cyril then continued listening to Gaarm for more information about the things that can be found here.

He then realized that they are also collecting a star garnet!

Similar to the garnet stones found on Earth, these ones also had a shade of red but what differentiate them to the others was the presence of the Arcane World's Aura…

It contains a bit of energy that could normally revitalize an Awakened once they claimed the energy using their aura…

It may not increase their rank or powers, it would at least refresh them and allow them to be in a good state.

This is a very important item especially for the Explorers that has to survive in dangerous Arcane Worlds. After all, it is normally difficult to have a good rest when exploring the Arcane World.

They were also unable to just mindlessly go out of the Arcane World because once they returned, they will be coming to the original spot where they arrived.

Unless they have a special item or array placed, they wouldn't be able to change their entry coordinates.

Anyway, these stones are found in miscellaneous items in the Awakened Marketplace online. Cyril didn't check their prices yet but he knows that they are quite expensive right now considering that there shouldn't be a lot of Arcane World with these stones.

"Since you're just collecting these Star Garnet as decoration, I will take all of them... Pack them up for me."

"Y-yes… Thank you."

The Goblin Chief then ordered his remaining men in the cavern to start putting the stones in a few bags.

The corpses of the other goblins were already taken care of. Aside from that, the old, females, and children of the tribe had also come out of their shelter and greeted Cyril.

In exchange for his protection in this tribe, he can take anything he wants that would satisfy his desire.

"Do you need anything else, Lord Cyril?" Gaarm asked.

"I would like to go out of this cave first... Ahh, wait. I would like to see the Golems and Mystic Bats you're talking about. Though they wouldn't give me valuable materials, killing some of them might be a good idea."

Cyril muttered the last part after recalling that the Red Goblin Tribe has weakened a lot after he killed most of their warriors.

It means that once the other beasts within the dungeon attacked them, they wouldn't be able to defend themselves!

Cyril couldn't stay here in this cave forever so he has to ensure that these Goblins would be able to survive to serve him for the next few years.

Perhaps, once he no longer needed this Arcane World, he would leave it to their control and let them have a peaceful life.

Of course, his plans may change depending on the things that he will discover in this low-class Arcane World.

"I will bring you to their base now, Lord Cyril."

"Alright, lead the way."

Cyril said as he took five Goblin Daggers with him. It may not be effective against the golems but killing the Mystic Bats with them should be easy.

It didn't take long before Cyril found the Mystic Bats… They were similar to the size of the normal goblins so it was no wonder that they are having so much trouble dealing with them.

On the other hand, the huge Goblin Chief couldn't move around in the narrow path so he couldn't help as well.

"Come!"

Cyril shouted as he took the attention of about twenty Mystic Bats who has been watching them for a while now.
