Chapter 10 - Why?

Ulquiorra slowly walked towards Issei. His action made Sona and others raised an eyebrow.

"Ulquiorra!!" Sona shouted. No one dare to shout at Ulquiorra except Sona. He is a member of the peerage of Serafall Levaithan, a demon king.

Tsubaki, Saji, and the rest of Sona's peerage where standing behind Sona. They all looked at Ulquiorra wondering what he will do. They all heard that Ulquiorra will eliminate the threat to Sona's existence. If so, why would he walked towards Issei?

Sona's arrival made Rias and Akeno sighed in relief. Although they knew that Sona we're safe when Ulquiorra appears, it's really different when you saw it in your own eyes.

Ulquiorra ignore Sona as he continue to walked towards Issei. He eventually stopped in front of the kneeling Issei.

Issei lifted up his head and looked at Ulquiorra. He opened his mouth and asked with a trembling voice, "W-What are you doing?"

"I will ask you a question" Ulquiorra looked at him and said.

"W-What is it?" Issei said. His body was full of bruised. He supported himself and slowly stood up in his feet.

Sona closed her mouth and attentively listen to what will Ulquiorra say. She was curious to what he will ask.

"Why do you still fight even if you know you can't defeat him? Why?" Ulquiorra said as he raised his arm and pointed his finger at Kokabiel. He added, "I want to know the answer"

Sona frown when she heard his question. She didn't why would he asked that kind of question and she want to know why did he asked that.

"Is it related to what you people called hearts?" Ulquiorra said as his gazed was fixed at Issei.

Ulquiorra looked at everyone and said, "Hearts? Your kind of people are always so quick to speak such things. As though you carry your hearts in the very palm of your hands. But this eye of mine perceives all. There is nothing that it overlooks. That is the ȧssumption under which I have always fought."

'Ulquiorra' Sona looked at Ulquiorra while listening to his words.

Ulquiorra lifted up his arm and point at the center of Issei's ċhėst. "What is this heart? If I tear open that ċhėst of yours, will I see it there?"

Ulquiorra lifted his arm higher to the level of Issei's head. "If I smash open that skull of yours, will I see it there?"

"Now tell me what is your reason to fight like that" Ulquiorra asked once again with a loud voice.

'What the hell is he saying? That red dragon brat is fighting me because he want to suck on his master's bȯȯbs, you know. He almost switch to my side because of my offer, you know that' Kokabiel retorted in his mind. 'Wait, that's not important now. They are ignoring my existence here. I need to do something'

'It's like he is... ' Sona looked at Ulquiorra deeply. She understand Ulquiorra the more she listen to his words.

Rias, Akeno, and the rest were still processing his words as they stood blankly on their feet.

His words made Issei shocked for a second. Issei's eyes flashed with determination and he opened his mouth, "That's right, it's simple, it's because... "

"Ignoring me, huh?"

Kokabiel interrupted Issei's words. He frowned and looked at Ulquiorra and asked, "Who are you?"

Ulquiorra ignore him as his gazed was fixed to Issei.

Sona couldn't help but frown when she looked at this. It seems that Ulquiorra was more interested in listening to Issei's answer than fighting Kokabiel. She approached Ulquiorra and said, "Ulquiorra, you can ask him later but first we need to get rid of this fallen angel."

"Stand back!!" Sona shouted to her peerage. She knew that Ulquiorra was getting ready to fight Kokabiel. She turned her head to Rias and nodded.

"Stand back!!" Rias also said to her peerage. She understood what Sona is trying to say.

"He will fight Kokabiel on his own?" Issei asked unsurely. He knows that Kokabiel is strong as he they just fought but he didn't know how strong is Ulquiorra.

"Ise-san, Is he gonna be okay?" Asia asked with a looked of concern in her face. Asia is really a good person. She is worried to the person she didn't even know.

"Don't underestimate the demon king's peerage member. Every demon king's servant is very powerful on their own." Akeno said to Issei.

Sona looked at Ulquiorra who was facing Kokabiel.

"Me? Getting rid of me? It's not easy as you think" Kokabiel pointed at himself and said in disdain.

"You're interrupting me"

Ulquiorra lifted up his arm. A spiritual power in the form of a green ball formed on the tip of his finger. The green ball was exuding a very powerful pressure to every person in the surrounding area.

"Cero" Ulquiorra said as the green ball shot out a green beam from his finger to Kokabiel. The beam headed towards Kokabiel at a very fast speed.
