Chapter 62 - Invasion

Shining brightly, Grim dug his feet into the ground before using his magic to explode the area between his soles and the ground to shoot forward.

"FINRAL!!" He yelled.

Hearing him, Finral's grimoire flashed into sight as a portal appeared in front of Grim.

"Hoh?" The witch queen raised a brow.

[Unknowing Fire]

Bursting out from behind her with a glowing blade in his hand, Grim swiped the sword at her neck aiming to beat her in one fell swoop.

*Swoosh!*

Slashing at her, Grim and everyone was shocked to see the witch queen disappear into a flock of crows.

"GRIM!!!" Noelle yelled once she saw the crows gather above him to form the Witch Queen.

Raising her hand high in the air, the Witch Queen's grimoire glowed as a blood red weapon manifested in her hands.

[Blood Creation Magic: Lifeblood Scythe]

Looking down at the young boy, no emotion could be seen on the Witch Queen's face as she unhesitatingly slashed down.

"GRIM!!" Everyone screamed.

"Heh." Grim looked up and grinned.

'What!?'

[Breath of Water: Flowing Dance]

With the [Breath of the Beast] base enhancing his natural senses and combined with his ability to use Ki and enter the transparent world, Grim used his new spell to twist his body in an uncomfortable way and bȧrėly avoid the blow.

*Cling!*

Due to his increased degree of mana control, Grim compressed the power of his next attack as he jumped towards the Witch Queen and unleashed the full might of thunder.

"DODGE THIS YOU ROYAL BITCH!!!"

Knowing the speed at which had attack would move at, Grim was confident in this move as he had already jumped and closed the distance between the two of them. After facing off against Licht in that cave, Grim knew that he was far from being the strongest and that if he was gonna number one, he needed to rely on strategy just as much as brute force.

"HYAHH!!!"

Unleashing the lightning fast bolt magic, Grim watched as the attack was about to strike Queen.

Watching the attack grow closer to her, the Witch Queen's expression stayed the same as her grimoire flipped to a different mage and a red cocoon surrounded her body tanking the full brunt of the spell and causing the rise of a sudden dust cloud.

"Tch!" Seeing this, Grim prepared to unleash another attack, but the moment he started circulating his mana, a feeling of dread washed over him as he instinctively jumped back to the others picking up Vanessa on the way.

"Hoh? To think you'd grow this far in such a short amount of time. As expected of someone with that blood." The Witch Queen's voice rung out amidst the dust cloud.

'That blood? Does she know!?'

"To not only get so close to me, but to also know when to retreat by sensing the slight fluctuations of mana... How beautiful." Once the dust cloud had settled, the scene in front of them caused the group to shake.

"I-Impossible..."

"S-She!!"

Standing within a perfectly unscathed blood cocoon, the Queen revealed herself to the others completely unharmed and untouched.

'Dammit! I should of used [Breath of the Beast] to attack and cut through that cocoon.'

Just as the Queen was about to speak further, something seemed to catch her attention as she looked away from Grim's group and into the distance.

"They're here..."

Confused by the Queen's words, everything became clear when two giant orbs showing different areas of the Witches Forest appeared in front of them.

"Its the guys from the Eye of the Midnight Sun and the Diamond Kingdom!" Noelle exclaimed.

"Yeah! And there's that Mars guy!" Asta noted.

"And that Fana girl." Grim focused on the pink haired girl ridding a would be dragon.

'Wait a second! Isn't that thing way bigger than it was before?'

"M-Mars..." Fanzell stuttered as he looked upon the face of his past student.

Frowning slightly, the Queen was about to raise her hand but was stopped by the next scene on the orb.

[Spirit Magic: Salamander's Breath]

Opening its mouth wide, the magic entity known as Salamander formed a giant ball of fire magic in its mouth before aiming and firing it off into an unknown part of the forest.

*BOOM!!*

Watching the explosion and hearing the screams from the orb, Grim and the rest of them felt the tremor from here.

"Such power..."

"Incredible..."

'Its power is stronger than when it attacked Yami.'

While the others were watching the forest burn in horror, the Witch Queen herself was astonished by the sheer amount of power that an imperfect Salamander was capable of wielding.

Watching the sea of flames from the hole in the wall, Grim couldn't help but lament the fact that someone had stolen his idea of starting a forest fire.

'That pink haired bitch.'

"Hm? Grim! What are you doing here?"

"Huh?" Hearing his name being called, Grim turned around in surprise to see a fully awakened Vanessa.

Noticing the others as well, Vanessa couldn't hide her surprise.

"You guys are here to?"

"Hey Vanessa." Domina waved. "Guess we both had the same idea about fixing Asta's arms."

"Asta's arms? Oh shit that right! Wait here Asta, I'll go talk to the queen about fixing you up."

"Holdup a sec Vanessa." Grim suddenly stopped her and looked at Asta. "How come you haven't tried using your anti magic swords to remove the curse?"

'Anti-magic?' The Queen's attention was caught.

"Oh right!" Asta exclaimed as he pulled his Demon Dweller sword out with his teeth.

'That sword!'

"Wait Asta sto-

"Arghh!!" Asta screamed as he cut into his arms.

"You idiot! The curse has already sunk into the deepest parts of your arms!" Vanessa berated.

*Sigh* 'Guess that was a dud.'

"Oi Queen of the lesbos." Grim called making the Witch Queen frown but still turn to face him.

"Don't you think its about time you stop standing around and heal my friends arms?"

"Why would I do such a thing."

"Simple." He smiled. "Because right now your precious forest is under attack and you need all the allies you can get. And I promise you, if you heal Asta's arms, then not only will you have him fight to protect this shit hole, you'll have all of us as well... Or you can reject my request and I'll go out and help burn this bitch to the ground."

"..."

"..."

Hearing his request, the Witch Queen stood in silence as she stared down the black haired young man.

"Fine." She relented. "I'll heal that boy's arms and make them stronger than before."

"Yes!" Everyone cheered.

Raising her hand, she pointed at Asta and activated a weird spell that put Asta in a transparent cocoon of blood.

'I'll heal this boy for now, but once this is over, Vanessa, Grim and that anti magic boy will be mine.'
