21 Pride before a fall

"Hokage sama please explain."

The hyuga clan broke the silence that followed, interjecting and standing up with a steady demeanour.

"I understand your doubts and I am willing to prove my worth by completing any task you assign me." She replied nonchalantly like she was entertaining a bunch of children.

The Uchiha grit his teeth, to him she seemed too arrogant, too overconfident, too overbearing!

"I have a proposal."

A nara, she smirked, sneaky bastards.

"Father! You're home!" Fugaku welcomed his father who sat down across from him dropping his cane. "How did the meeting go?" He noticed his father was in a foul mood, but why?

The clan head didn't hesitate and told the story of the entire clan meeting, relieving his frustrations and laughing at the little girl's misfortune.

"There's no way she can succeed right? Father?"

"Heh! She's in over her own head. She'll most likely die instantly!"

He was happy, that girl got what she deserved but fugaku remained silent, what if she did succeed? Then what would happen to his father? If she held a grudge then wouldn't it be bad for the Uchiha clan?

Tsuki Yomi spent the rest of the day lazing around in her room and reading up on itachi who would soon come into the world and the bloodline purge.

She had three days before she had to complete the assignment. Until then she decided to tour the village that she would resign in after the tragedy that created the massive domino effect for everything that would happen in the future.

She waltz around the busy streets without a care in the world admiring the chattering of civilians who seemed full of life and happiness. Taking in a big breath she let out a sad smile, soon she wouldn't be able to see such a wonderful sight.

"What do you mean it's 300 ryo!? It was 250 ryo yesterday!?"

Yomi's eyes widened, and she approached the raging woman with tomato red hair. Reaching out to her dress she called out.

"Uzumaki - san?"

Kushina's eyes widened as she stared at the little girl, no way...

They stared at each other for what seemed like forever, until Yomi broke the trance by retreated and bowing slightly.

"Sorry, you have they same hair colour as someone I know, so I just assumed..." crap! How would she explain noticing a member of  the nearly extinct uzumaki clan?

"Oh my~, are you lost little girl?"

What?

Tsuki Yomi relaxed a bit, maybe she wasn't going to wonder why she knew about the Uzumaki clan, maybe she was as air headed as naruto.

"I don't know where I am." Tsuki Yomi replied deciding to play the role of innocent little girl. Kushina weed and cooed at the cute little albino girl she met on the streets.

"Follow me and I'll take you back home!"

"Hai" She said quietly as she held on to her garments, ignoring the weird stares that the civilians gave them she buried her face in her leg.

"What's wrong?" Kushina asks bending down to her height.

Yomi glanced at the civilians letting kushina know that the stares were uncomfortable, kushina merely smiled.

"Don't worry they aren't staring at you, they're staring at me."

"And I would like to ask, who exactly is this friend of yours with tomato red hair?"

"Hai! He's an Uzumaki! He was the only one left!"

Kushina froze, there was someone else, putting on her signature smile. "Was?"

"I mean, you're his family right?" The wind picked up gently tugging her hair and kushina felt she was looking at an angel, the sun adorned her face making kushina smile.

"Yes little girl, he's most likely family."

"Stop calling me little girl! I have a name ya'know!" Yomi folded her hands and pouted as kushina chuckled, what an energetic girl, it wouldn't be bad to have a kid like her in the future.

"Sorry Little girl, what's your name?"

Puffing our her chest proudly, "Tsuki Yomi!"

"Nice to meet you Tsuki Yomi, call me kushina." Kushina ruffled the little girl's hair, as a sense of nostalgia tugged at her heart strings.

"Where are your parents?"

"I don't have any." Her nonchalant attitude made kushina frown, was this girl really hurt to the point that she is suppressing her emotions? What a pitiful child.

"Would you like to come with me, Yomi?"

Yomi ended up skipping all the way home, she really didn't believe her luck, she met kushina Uzumaki!

Unfortunately her happiness were short lived as she came home with an uchiha waiting patiently for her.

Uchihas.

If she talked to him her mood would be spoiled.

So she'll ignore him.

La la la~

"Please wait!"

Great.

She turned with a smile and waited for him to talk.

He immediately bowed. Unexpected. An uchiha was bowing.

"I would like to apologise for my father's rude behaviour!"

He was apologising, where was a camera when you needed one!?

"Please forgive him!"

"I can't." He froze.

"He will surely die." His expression saddened.

"I see.."

"Don't worry, your clan will be spared."

"Thank you!"

"You're name?"

"Uchiha Fugaku."

Hearing his name she was practically crying, why didn't she have a camera!?
