13 Making a family

Kakazu watched the puppet work away in the lab, mixing different looking liquids, reading the instructions for the microscope, reading up all the information on dangerous chemicals and how to extract them.

He was genuinely amazed that the strange lady had such a magnificent collection of knowledge of dangerous chemicals and plant, this village was over the top.

State of the art technology, extremely comfortable housing, this place would be a village solely for rich merchants.

He was overwhelmed with amazement, she was the kage of this, he wouldn't be complaining to the kazekage for handing him over anytime soon.

Kakazu read trough the newly made account books and began to count the amount of citizens they could afford in this village and how to start trades with other villages.

If her hunch is correct the war would soon be over, in a few years time and in that time villages would start to massacre their clans with a blood limit.

Foolishness.

Why throw away a ninja powerhouse? It was utter foolishness caused by the fear in the hearts of the weak that insist on leading the strong.

"Get ready, we have a job." Kakazu said in his constant cold voice.

"Hai, my first job as a member of sōzō."

Kakazu nodded before leaving to put away the account books, maybe he should get her a summon on his way out? She had no way of communicating with them when she's busy trying to save everyone.

He sighed, he did get over paid last time and he still had the money. When the miser decides to spend money you know something is up.

Nagato slurped up the remaining ramen and let out a relieving sigh, when last had he had a hot meal? He felt tears form in his eyes and he sniffed and wiped his eyes.

Kisame was again asleep on her lap and she yawned slightly before facing the young orphan with a smile.

A bright blush covered his face as he lowered his head trying to avoid the penetrating gaze fixed on him.

"Nagato-kun, would you like some more ramen?" She asked as she payed the man for another bowl, she had no reason to eat but she could still enjoy the taste of good food.

Nagato nodded quickly, he was on the verge of tears, he had never seen someone so kind after his parents had died. The world seemed cold and heartless to him when he became an orphan. Stained with blood and tears. The pain he had felt was immense, but now, she had appeared.

She was the light in his darkness, short and fleeting, art.

The owner returned with a bowl of ramen for the young villain who gulped it down hungrily, her smile saddened as she realised he probably hadn't eaten a decent meal in years.

"When you're done nagato-kun would you like to stay with me and kisame?"

He choked and coughed, then she stared at her supposedly with wide eyes. "Is it ok?"

"Of course nagato-kun!" She clasped his hands. "We're going to become family!"

Family?

He lifted his face smiling with tears streaming down his face, he opened his eyes revealing them, she smiled.

Sandaime Kazekage rubbed his temples, rounding up and packing suna for the next kazekage was hard work.

There was a knock on the door and a teenage Rasa walked in with his ninja gear. He had just returned from an S class mission and was slightly annoyed he hadn't gone to see his girlfriend, she would be worried sick if he was late by the fraction of a second.

"you called for me kazekage sama?" He asked perfecting his posture.

Seeing his young successor he let out a sigh of relief. He had planned on making Rasa do all the work under the pretence of training to be the next kazekage.

Unfortunately for Rasa he would have to get a scolding from his girlfriend for being a day late.

Hiruzen felt a headache coming along, this night and as well send him to retirement a few years early. What was with this? Rouge nin that hunt rouge nin?

He had lived in this world for many years but this was the first time he had heard of something like this. Maybe he should retire now and leave this to the younger generation.
