“Anything wrong?”

Jiang Sheng asked Uncle Mo with a smile since he was staring at him all the time.

“Oh, nothing. Please, come inside.”

Uncle Mo made an inviting gesture and immediately showed his smile again; he then greeted Pei Hao, “It’s been a while since I saw you last time.”

“It’s been hundreds of years. You still look the same! And you are still guarding this place for Pei Siyan.”

After saying so, Pei Hao casually walked into the courtyard.

Uncle Mo’s face darkened. There was no telling what he was thinking. After a long time, he closed the little gate outside and went back to the villa.

“Is there any other subordinates here?”

Jiang Sheng, who had already arrived at the villa, looked around but saw no one else.

“There is no one living here anymore, so we don’t need any more servants, just me.”

Uncle Mo had somehow walked behind Jiang Sheng and said to him.

Jiang Sheng looked back at Uncle Mo.

Uncle Mo smiled, but looking at the face that looked exactly the same as Lan Yuan’s, his smile gradually became stiff.

Jiang Sheng also noticed that, ‘Looks like he and Lan Yuan did not get along! Otherwise, he wouldn’t have such an expression as soon as he sees me.’

But Jiang Sheng didn’t care much since he was not the Lan Yuan; he then asked, “Is there a basement here? Or a secret tunnel and something like that.”

“We don’t have a secret tunnel here. But there is a basement where we used to put things in.” said Uncle Mo.

“Is there anything in it now?”

Although Jiang Sheng knew there should not be anything there, he still asked.

“Except for the wine that the young master likes, there is nothing else.”

‘Looks like there really isn’t anything suspicious there! But that’s understandable; a basement in a house like this could not serve as a prison for long after all.’

“There’s no need to ask him.”

Pei Siyan suddenly interrupted their conversation and dragged Jiang Sheng upstairs.

“What? Are you not close with Uncle Mo?” asked Jiang Sheng, who followed behind.

Pei Siyan didn’t answer; his expression was cold, so Jiang Sheng’s guess seemed right.

“All right! I won’t ask about that anymore.”

Jiang Sheng didn’t care too much about that.

But the sadness in Uncle Mo’s eyes was even more heartbreaking.

Pei Siyan pulled Jiang Sheng to a room and stopped.

Pei Siyan looked obviously sad.

Jiang Sheng knew that this was where Pei Siyan slept with his wife before.

‘Ugh! I really don’t wanna go in there!’

Jiang Sheng felt a little upset, but he had come all the way here and there was no reason to back off now, so he opened the door voluntarily.

The room came into his sight was simple, with the elegant Japanese style decoration and wood furniture. It was nothing fancy but it could give off a sense of a warmth.

Comparing with this room, the hall was rather luxurious, which was entirely different from this.

Pei Siyan didn’t say a word, and Jiang Sheng didn’t know what to do about that so he just stayed with him silently.

Pei Siyan looked at the room, which was as unchanged as it had been hundreds of years ago, and he began to look sad again.

He felt like he could still see Lan Yuan sitting in bed waiting for him. And Lan Yuan would look back and smile at him when he came back from work.

“Well, are you going in?”

Jiang Sheng asked gingerly since Pei Siyan had been silent for a long time

“Okay.”

Pei Siyan replied softly; he held Jiang Sheng’s hand tightly and entered the room, as if he was determined.

Jiang Sheng smiled slowly, because Pei Siyan would still rely on him now.

“Master, are you injured?”

Suddenly, the magic fish swam out behind and asked Jiang Sheng curiously.

“Are you trying to scare me to death?” Jiang Sheng immediately rolled his eyes at the magic fish, but he also answered it, “No, I’m not injured.”

“No?”

The Magic fish was puzzled. After sniffing the smell of this room, it said with a sad face, “But the smell of your blood is so intense here that my nose couldn’t even stand it!”

“The smell of my blood?”

Jiang Sheng was stunned; then he looked at Pei Siyan as if he was asking him whether he could smell it.

Pei Siyan shook his head for he could smell nothing at all.
