Xi Que didn’t answer the chef’s question; she spread her palm instead and a katana appeared in her hands, pointing at Pei Siran.

“Don’t make me do this.” Her eyes were as cold as ice.

“Master!”

The chef rushed over, trying to save his master from danger, but Pei Siyan raised one of his hands, stopped him and told him to back off.

“You can take him away with you now. There will be people guiding you out outside.”

Xi Que didn’t even say “thank you” when she heard that. She dragged Jiang Sheng by his arm and headed out without any hesitation.

“Ouch! Ouch! It hurts! Easy! And can you go slower?”

Jiang Sheng cried behind her, but Xi Que didn’t stop walking; she just put on a cold and serious face as she kept heading out of here.

“Master, did you really just let Pei Siyan’s wife go?” The chef couldn’t believe what he just saw.

‘It took us a hell lot of effort to kidnap him here, and now we are letting him go?’

“He’s a spy sent by the elders to keep watch on Pei Siyan, so of course, we need to let him go.”

The chef was totally confused, “What? Pei Siyan’s wife is a spy sent by the Prime Family?”

‘Then why would you let me waste all that time and efforts in kidnapping him here?’

The chef twitched his mouth right away as his face fell.

But Pei Siran hadn’t known that either at the beginning; he just heard it from someone lately.

And that “someone”, Hei Ming, walked in from the hallway as he let out a wisp of smoke leisurely.

He just gazed at the direction where Jiang Sheng had left and didn’t say a word with Pei Siran.

Though there were the Prime Family and the Branch Family in the Pei Family, their yards were still all connected. That was why Hei Ming would know from his subordinates that the chef had kidnapped Jiang Sheng here.

As for the reason why he would tell Pei Siran that Jiang Sheng was a spy sent by the elders was because that was the only possible way to let Pei Siran release Jiang Sheng.

‘Pei Siyan, that’s all I can do for you. After that, you will be depending on your own to keep your wife safe.’

Hei Ming let out another breath of smoke and leaned against the door of Pei Siran’s room with a hand in his pocket.

“Pleasure to meet you, master Hei Ming.”

The chef greeted immediately.

Though Hei Ming couldn’t inherit the surname of the Pei Family, his power was still overwhelming, so the subordinates all feared him.

“Why did you call me master? I’m not a master in the Pei Family, right, my big brother?”

Hei Ming smiled and scorned at what the chef just called him; he even gave Pei Siran a meaningful look at the same time.

He didn’t say that because he hated Pei Siran. In fact, he was scorning at the irritating rules of the Pei Family.

“How did you know about that?”

Pei Siran ignored what he was implying and cut to the chase.

Hei Ming was used to the indifference of his big brother already, so he answered casually, “The old bastards made me the contact person between them. That’s why I knew something about it.”

He just gave a rough description. Clearly, he was not going to explain that much to Pei Siran.

Pei Siran knew that Hei Ming was only being obedient to the Prime Family to save his son, so he didn’t ask any more about it.

“Did you see where she came in earlier?”

“Of course! She just jumped off from the ceiling.” The chef knew that question was for him, so he replied in no time.

“Then, have you seen anyone on the ceiling before she showed up?”

‘Right! There was no one there on the ceiling, and we have been here the whole time.’

The chef’s body shivered as he thought of that, and his eyes almost popped out of his head, “Invisibility?”

“But how can a Majin has such ability? That’s an ability owned by the exorcists only! They can use charms to hide, but it would cost an enormous amount of magic power to use that charm! How can Xi Que do that? She barely looks like an adult!”

“So, he is not a Majin.”

‘The good news is that she’s still not powerful enough that I could sense her smell in the air, otherwise even I won’t know that there was a girl hiding on the ceiling.

I suppose that she had used the invisibility to pass the guards and eventually made her way here.

The subordinates out there were not as powerful as us, so it’s normal that they failed to spot her.

But the strange thing is, Pei Siyan’s subordinates should all be Majins. How can there be an exorcist among them?

Plus, the exorcists are enemies to Majins. How could he hire an exorcist to be his maid and his wife’s bodyguard?’
