Just as Jiang Sheng was expecting how Pei Siyan would answer his question, Bai Hao knocked on the door and walked in.

He walked towards Pei Siyan and said, “We’ve found it out. Those werewolves that attacked us today are Shan Zihao’s subordinates.

After he said so, he showed the pictures to Pei Siyan. Those were the screenshots of Shan Zihao commanding those people.

“It’s he again.” Pei Siyan frowned immediately.

“This Shan Zihao must bear a grudge against you because you left a cut on him back before.” Bai Hao said and then added, “Do you need me to send someone to deal with him now?”

“No need for that. I wanna see what his intention is. He hasn’t been out for decades and there must be a reason for him to show up now. Keep an eye on him, but don’t make any moves.”

“Okay.”

Bai Hao was obedient to every single order of Pei Siyan.

“This man, he looks vicious and terrifying.”

Jiang Sheng cast a glance at what Pei Siyan was holding and got scared by Shan Zihao’s picture.

“Just a random minion. You don’t need to be afraid of him.”

Pei Siyan said with a smile on his face. Obviously, Shan Zihao was clearly nothing to him.

“But he does have an association with the black market. Is it possible that he is somehow related to Master Hao?” Bai Hao suddenly lowered his voice and said that to Pei Siyan’s ear.

Bai Hao backed down right away, and he gave Jiang Sheng another look before he shut the door.

Because he knew Pei Siyan was doing that to protect Jiang Sheng.

“What were you guys mumbling about just then? Why are you keeping that from me?” Jiang Sheng asked curiously.

Pei Siyan didn’t explain to him; he warned Jiang Sheng with a serious look on his face instead, “Don’t leave the mansion lately, and make sure you are followed by my subordinates no matter where you go.”

“What does that mean? Does that mean that I need to have someone by my side even inside the mansion?”

‘What is this all about? Why is he acting so serious all of a sudden?’

“Yes, even inside the mansion.”

‘It wis not necessarily safe inside the mansion. All I can trust now is my old subordinates and Bai Hao.’

Seeing the serious look on Pei Siyan’s face, Jiang Sheng stopped being naughty. He nodded and agreed.

“Well, you can teach me to do some skills about self-defense! Like that controlling magic! In that way, you won’t need to worry about me being attacked and I can protect myself as well!”

‘It would be such a waste if I can’t use any power of this body!’

“You don’t need to learn all that. I’ll protect you and make sure you are safe this time, my dear wife.”

Pei Siyan suddenly hugged Jiang Sheng’s body tightly, and pain could be sensed in his voice.

Jiang Sheng could tell that Pei Siyan was not saying that to him but to Lan Yuan instead.

‘Had his wife been attacked by someone before?’

But he didn’t act unreasonably; he hugged Pei Siyan back instead and gave him a shoulder to lean on.

He told Pei Siyan, “I’ll be fine. You can rest assured!”

Even though he was having rough feelings, he still managed to comfort Pei Siyan.

Pei Siyan noticed that, and a smile gradually showed on his face as he held Jiang Sheng even tighter.
