Just as the atmosphere was getting right, a tall shadow suddenly appeared outside the door of the lab and was looking inside with those frightening eyes.

Jiang Huo noticed that right away; his eyes became cold and fell on the door.

The one outside of the lab also sensed Jiang Huo’s unfriendly look, so he left in a hurry and disappeared at the corner.

‘Who was that? Why would he look inside with some homicidal intent? Am I his target? Or was he here for Pei Hao?’

Jiang Huo frowned even harder when he thought of that, and the coldness in his eyes was clearer.

“What? Is anyone out there?”

Pei Hao looked outside then looked back at Jiang Huo and asked.

Jiang Huo was afraid that Pei Hao would be worried, so he fight back his seriousness, smiled instead and said, “Nothing, it was just a passer-by.”

“Alright then!”

Pei Hao didn’t ask anything else and continued eating.

But shortly after, he suddenly said, “I just heard them talking about it this morning. A non-human professor has been attacked in the B.O.M.. His liver was gone when we found him, and he is dead already, of course.”

Jiang Huo’s body shivered and he asked urgently, “And now? Have the people in the Management Bureau got involved in this?”

“Yep, they said it could be someone from the Church who sneaked into the B.O.M. and was hunting on the non-human professors.”

“You know, most of the employees in the B.O.M. are non-humans. We are like walking fortunes to those bastards. The reward of a single attack on one of the non-humans would be enough for them to live a wealthy life ever after.”

Pei Hao said that quite easily. Maybe it was because he had lived for centuries that he was already numb to it.

The Church was formed by a bunch of bastards hunting down on non-humans for a living and their species remained unclear.

As for the Management Bureau, it was just like the police station. The only difference was that is was focusing mainly on attacks that happened to the non-humans.

“Wait for me when you are off from work. Don’t leave here alone.”

“What? Are you afraid of me being attacked? Are you kidding me? I’m a pure-blooded Majin! I’m not afraid of the Church at all!”

Pei Hao looked at Jiang Hao with a smile on his face, but then his smile was frozen on his face. Because Jiang Huo’s expression was very serious.

‘Really? I thought he said that just to follow me back home and wanted to do something X-rated with me.’

“The identity of the Church remains unknown. They can be powerful exorcists or enemies from other species. How are you going to handle them? How many can you kill if you run into them? The Church is not an unimportant organization. They are a huge criminal group.”

Jiang Huo seemed to be mad for Pei Hao was not taking this seriously.

Plus, there was someone watching them just now, which made him even uneasier.

“Okay, I got it. I’ll wait for you to get off work together. Why are you even mad?”

‘Ugh, you are just a human, so how can you protect me? I’ll be the one who protects you when something really happens.’

“Come on! Have your food! The lunch break will be over soon.”

Pei Hao got up from Jiang Huo’s laps and sat back to his own seat obediently.

But Jiang Hao didn’t have the mood to eat anymore. If the Management Bureau was right, then there could really be someone from the Church hiding in the B.O.M., and all the non-humans working here would be in danger.

‘It looks like I have to let my second brother investigate on this, or else I won’t be able to let Pei Hao work here by himself. I can’t be by his side every second.’

“Hey! What are you thinking? Dig in!”

Pei Hao had to urge Jiang Huo since he didn’t move at all.

‘What is he thinking about that got him so concentrated? Or, is it because of the Church? Even though humans won’t be in danger in this, it’s better to do some prevention. I should probably head to Pei Siyan’s place to let him look this up when I have time!’

“Hey, would you go out with me? Maybe in the next few days?” Pei Hao said abruptly.

“Where to?”

“To a place where you can get an amulet.” Pei Hao smiled and replied.

Jiang Huo arched his eyebrows; he was bewildered, but he didn’t ask anything more about it.

After all, how could he refuse a date with Pei Hao?
