Xi Que walked to the pond and threw the magic fish into it.

“In this case, it should be seen as the magic fish evolved itself, and no one would be suspicious about that.”

Xi Que mumbled to herself. Not until she checked and made sure no one around did she finally leave in a hurry.

As for Jiang Sheng, they were in a car driving away from the mansion.

“It’s so hot!”

Jiang Sheng had been constantly complaining about the temperature even though the air-conditioner in the car was already on.

“I’m literally going to have a heat stroke, Pei Siyan.” Jiang Sheng was leaning over on Pei Siyan’s laps like a fish out of water that was going to die.

‘Goddamn it, you son of a gun! I’ve told you that I don’t wanna come out. You just won’t listen and dragged me out anyway.’

Jiang Sheng was complaining about how cold-blooded Pei Siyan was.

But he no longer had the strength to scold him for now. He felt hot but he just couldn’t sweat it out which made him anxious and agitated.

“Turn down the temperature of the air-conditioner.”

Pei Siyan told Bai Hao who was driving in front first. Then he blocked the dazzling sunlight coming from outside with his body so that it wouldn’t shine on Jiang Sheng.

“It’s already at its lowest now.” Bai Hao said awkwardly.

“It’s true that the vampires now are not afraid of the sunlight, but they still can’t stand the heat, so it’s totally normal for him to feel so awful like that.” Hei Ming explained it on the passenger seat.

Pei Siyan also knew that, but he didn’t expect Jiang Sheng’s reaction to being this painful for Lan Yuan had not been that afraid of the heat before.

‘Is it because he is a half-blood breed of human and vampire that he has flaws like this?’

It was not until then did Pei Siyan realize that Jiang Sheng was not a pure vampire, and there were differences between him and Lan Yuan.

“When will we arrive there, Pei Siyan? I can’t take this anymore; it’s way too hot here!”

Jiang Sheng was tearing his collar as if he was trying to take it off from him.

“There there, we will be there in a short while. Just lump it for a little longer.”

Pei Siyan showed a touch of sympathy in his eyes. He then held Jiang Sheng in his arms, stroked his head, comforted him quietly, and gave him a kiss on his head.

Pei Siyan’s action made Bai Hao and Hei Ming stunned immediately for they hadn’t seen Pei Siyan showing such a warm and soft look for centuries.

They gave each other a look and remained silent, leaving Pei Siyan and Jiang Sheng alone.

“Your body is cool. That’s comfortable.”

Jiang Sheng rubbed his head in Pei Siyan’s arms and eventually showed a touch of a smile on his face.

But then, he suddenly got close to Pei Siyan’s neck and sniffed it closely. He then said in a drowsy tone, “Pei Siyan, I’m thirsty now. I had too much grilled fish just then.”

He then took a light bite on Pei Siyan’s neck after he had said that, but he didn’t show his fangs when he did that, which meant he was conscious at the time.

Pei Siyan smiled and said, “Go ahead and drink if you want!” His voice was as sweet and tender as honey.

“Really?”

Jiang Sheng’s eyes lit up when he heard that. His eyes were glittering when he looked at Pei Siyan, and he seemed a bit more energetic at the same time.

“I won’t let you drink it if you ask again.” Pei Siyan teased Jiang Sheng with a smile.

“Well, I didn’t say that I don’t want it!” Jiang Sheng mumbled instantly. He was going straight for the bite, but after he gazed at Pei Siyan’s neck for a short while, he hesitated.

“What’s wrong?” Pei Siyan asked.

Jiang Sheng lifted his head and looked up at him with his big round eyes, asking, “Will you feel pain if I bite you?”

Jiang Sheng’s question put Pei Siyan in a trance. Even Lan Yuan had never thought whether he would feel pain or not before, but Jiang Sheng did. A touch of warmness somehow went through his heart.

Pei Siyan’s feelings were becoming complicated; he wanted Jiang Sheng to be his wife, but deep down inside there was still something struggling in his heart.

Because Lan Yuan was never considerate and he was the one who was always giving everything.

He even failed to know about how Lan Yuan had died at the end. Except for giving everything he got to Lan Yuan, he gained nothing from this relationship.

His love was too deep that he locked his heart away for centuries after Lan Yuan had died. He had been waiting for Lan Yuan’s reincarnation so that they could have the chance to continue and fix their relationship.

But now the fate let him meet Jiang Sheng, a man with Lan Yuan’s personality but was far more considerate than him. Jiang Sheng had melted part of the iceberg in Pei Siyan’s heart.
