Chapter 75 - Flashback

The report about mega evolution was playing on TV in a house in Vaniville town and a pair of mother and daughter were wat hing it together.

When Professor Sycamore called Sam to the stage, the daughter seemed to remember something and kept staring at Sam's face.

Her mother noticed this asked her, "What's wrong girl?" "Nothing" The girl quickly replied and looked back towards TV byt her mother didn't notice that her ears had turned a little reddish.

Time went back to six years ago. In Kanto region, in forest near Pallet town, a little girl of 5 years old was sitting down by taking support of a tree. She had injured her knee and was quite scared as she had seperated from others whom she came with.

The bushes around her were constantly shaking because of pokemon movements making her more scared. She was about to cry but soon a boy came towards and asked, "How can you be here? The rest of peoples have already gathered in the camp."

The girl pointed to her knee and said, "I was seperate from them and then fell and got injured." Just as she finished saying this, a Rattata came out of bushes scaring her.

"You don't need to be afraid of them, wild pokemons generally don't attack people unless they are provoked." He went near Rattata and fed it some food he had with him. The Rattata ate the food given by the boy and went away. "See, its not scary at all." The boy looked back at the girl and gave her a smile.

The boy later wiped out the dirt and blood from the girl's knee and put a bandage that he carried. "Can you walk now. We have to go back to the camp."

The girl tried to stand up but couldn't do it. So the boy carried her on his back and went back towards the camp. The girl had never felt so warm as she felt on the boy's back.

"Have you also came to camp organised by Professor Oak?" The girl asked.

"No, I am Professor's ȧssistant." The boy said proudly.

"Don't lie to me, you are obviously of the same age as me, how could you become ȧssistant of Professor." The girl didn't believe him at all.

"It's your choice to believe it or not." The boy just shrugged.

Soon they came out of the forest and reached the camp. As soon as they reached the camp, Professor Oak called the boy. "Where have you been to?" "Professor, she had got lost in the forest and was injured. I just bought her back."

"Oh, you did a good job bringing her back. Now put her down and come help me move these thing, Sam."

Back to present, the girl finally remembered where she had met him. "Sam..."

Her mother heard her call the name and thought that her daughter was also surprised. "You know, Sam is the youngest Professor certified by the Alliance. To be able to achieve this he must be both talented and hard working. Alas if you were just as half as hardworking as him in learning Rhyhorn racing from me."

The apparently didn't hear anything that her mother said and was still looking at Sam on TV.

"Mom, where is the report held?"

"In Lumiose city."

"Where we can get our starter pokemon?"

"Yes, but why are you suddenly asking this."

"Mon, I want to go to Lumiose city and get my starter pokemon and start my own journey."

The mother looked at her daughter for a while and then placed her hand on her daughter's head to check if she had fewer.

"No, it didn't look lile you have fewer."

"What are doing mom?"

"Checking why you lazy bum wants to travel suddenly."
