Chapter 44 - Zapdos VS Draceon

Zapdos and Draceon were staring at each other and it was calm before the storm.

"Charm" Sam acted first and gave order to Draceon. Draceon acted cutely and tried to charm Zapdos. Zapdos saw Draceon acting cute and got stunned for while.

Sam seized the chance and ordered, "Ice Fang followed by Assurance." Draceon jumped towards Zapdos with its fangs enlarged with ice energy and bite on Zapdos wings and then hit it with Assurance. As Zapdos was just hit by Ice Fang, Assurance's attack power doubled and Zapdos crashes down on the ground.

"Dragon Tail" Draceon came down towards Zapdos and tried to hit it with its tail but Zapdos flew in air dodged it. It got angry upon eating repeated hits and used Discharge near Draceon. Draceon got hit by Discharge and got paralysed.

Zapdos used Agility in air and increased its speed. Then Zapdos used Sky Attack. The Sky Attack hit Draceon who couldn't move due to the effect of paralysis. Zapdos took advantage of this and once again used Sky Attack.

"Just hold on for a while, Draceon. Our chance to counterattack will come soon." Draceon gritted its teeths and stood still. After the fifth Sky Attack hit Draceon, the effect of paralysis ended and Draceon was free to move.

At this time Zapdos got tired because of its large consumption due to using Sky Attack continuously. While Draceon was injured all over.

"Draceon, go near Zapdos using Aerial ace and then use Ice Fang followed by Dragon Tail." Draceon approached Zapdos with Aerial Ace with its fangs enlarged with the infusion of ice energy and bite hard on Zapdos wing after which Draceon somersaulted in air and hit Zapdos with its tail surrounded by dragon energy.

"Use the inertia of falling down to use Ice Fang and then use Take Down." Draceon adjusted its direction in air and once again bite Zapdos wing with Ice Fang but this time Draceon didn't release Zapdos and performed Take Down. Huge amount of dust rose as soon as Zapdos and Draceon fell to ground and covered the sight of Sam and Vivi.

After some time, the dust settled down and Zapdos and Draceon were one meter apart from each other and staring at each other. After staring for some time both of them fainted at the same time.

Sam went near Zapdos to take its blood sample and then started treating Zapdos and Draceon. After some time Zapdos and Draceon opened their eyes, after which Sam left with Vivi, Draceon and Exeggutor.

As Sam was walking outside he heard the sound of system in his mind.

Name : Beat the Thunder

Description : Successfully beat legendary pokemon Zapdos with the any pokemon.

Reward : One Keystone

Additional Effect : Increase host's thunder resistance.

As soon as Sam and Vivi came out of Power station, Vivi couldn't control her emotions and hugged Sam and exclaimed, "Sam you are too strong. Now you have successfully defeated all three legendary bird pokemons."

Sam was silently enjoying Vivi's embrace so he didn't speak and just stayed there. After a while Vivi sensed something wrong and looked down and saw Sam's smiling face. Vivi quickly released Sam and changed the subject, "Oh, why didnt you capture them when you have defeated them."

Upon hearing the question of Vivi, Sam smiled mysteriously and said, "You will know about that in future." Vivi pouted when she saw Sam not answering properly.

They returned to the Vermilion city by the evening and rested at the pokemon center. Sam remembered that Moltres will be cloned today so waited for a while. Soon he heard the sound of system in his mind.

Name : Obtain the Fire Bird.

Description : Obtain Moltres either by battling it, convincing it or from any other reason.
