Xu Jiaqi was laying down on top of the bed, her eyes droopy. It was as if she was a cat lazily resting about, looking towards Xie Yongrui with little to no interest. It made the man so anxious that he felt like he could throw up any moment now.

The deathly silence, and the way Xu Jiaqi composed herself all added up to break him down from the inside. Of course, Xu Jiaqi was unaware of all t his because her mind was merely not focused on the man. She was chatting with the System on how she should break into the matter, so it appeared as if Xu Jiaqi was heavily disinterested in Xie Yongrui when that was not the case at all.

'Hey, System. Do you think the mood is right? I think I can act perfectly now, I've got all the emotions down..' Xu Jiaqi asked as they both finally concluded their discussion as Xie Yongrui's pitiful gaze still shone upon her.

"..Hm. Rui, I have a question for you." Xu Jiaqi spoke up.

"..Hik." A small whimper came out of Xie Yongrui.

Xie Yongrui shed tears. He didn't know why, it just started flowing down. It was at this moment that Xu Jiaqi finally snapped out of her mind, and her brain cells all came online at the same time. Even so, she still couldn't figure out why this man, who was usually so imposing in front of his man was crying right in front of her as if the world wronged him in a thousand ways.

Xu Jiaqi: ...? Did somebody steal his balloons on the way here?

"Go.. go on. Ask me.. what did you want to ask?" Xie Yongrui wanted to face whatever was in it for him bravely. He had repeated inside his heart. If Xu Jiaqi wanted to break up, if she didn't want him anymore, then he must let her go.

He wanted to see her happy, and he always said that he would help make her happy. If tying her down to him made her unhappy, then he should let go no matter what, and not let her be wronged staying by his side.

He tried to convince himself that that was the case, but it didn't work out. A waterfall of emotions washed over him, exposing the tender regions of his heart out.

"..Rui, did I do something wrong?" Xu Jiaqi questioned.

It was too sudden.

"T-that's what I want to ask you. Qiqi, tell me if I did something wrong, don't just stay silent like that. It scares me.. you won't throw me away, right? We made a promise.. We're going to stay together.. Qiqi, I'll fix it for you. You just need to tell me where I made a mistake." Xie Yongrui tried his hardest to be calm, but he was beyond nervous.

His voice shook and rattled with every single word he spoke, and he couldn't help but cry into Xu Jiaqi's shoulder.

Xu Jiaqi was still confused, but she comforted the man first above anything. "Rui, I think you have a misunderstanding. I just dozed off.. Because I was thinking about a strange thing."

Xie Yongrui was practically blocking off all of his senses, desperately holding onto Xu Jiaqi. Xu Jiaqi was baffled as she didn't think that the man would have this severe of a reaction. She couldn't even begin to comprehend what caused it, let alone solve the core of the problem.

"Rui.. listen to me. You're not paying attention to what I'm saying. Can't you hear me out?" Xu Jiaqi patiently asked, coaxing him. A small tinge of pain bulged in her heart as she saw Xie Yongrui lightly sob.

"Qiqi, I can't live without you, I really can't.."

"Then, live with me! What are you crying for? Do you doubt my sincerity?" Xu Jiaqi frowned.

"...No, I would never doubt you." Xie Yongrui looked up to the younger woman and continued sobbing, albeit his tears slowly stopping.

"Look at me in the eye, and tell me, who bullied you? Who spread lies to you, saying that I will leave you and such? And why are you so affected by it?" Xu Jiaqi was a straightforward person. She didn't want any misunderstandings to occur.

All the problems must be solved right then and there.

"I'm just.. I also don't know what happened to me. I just imagined the thought of you leaving me for a slight second, and my.. my vision turned to black, like I was thrown into some sort of abyss. Then.. before I knew it, I was crying before you..."

Xie Yongrui was also confused. After he regained his calm, he found his crying self so immensely stupid.

Xu Jiaqi laid down the situation. Xie Yongrui drunk a bit as he ate, but she knew that he had a high alcohol tolerance. However, he still drank some. This might have contributed in one way or another to his current state, but Xu Jiaqi still found it weird that he had such a big emotional spurt.

Suddenly so explosive, and suddenly so calm.

She noted this discovery in her head. According to her observations, Xie Yongrui should not be someone who would act like this, so what was this all about.

Of course, within the three of them, only the System knew what was happening as of now.

[That crazy bastard.. Latching to my Host like that! Grr!] The System couldn't vent to anybody, especially his Host. He concealed himself as he cursed Xie Yongrui, who was starting to show his lunatic tendencies.

"Rui, did you know? My father.. Might have met you in the past." Xu Jiaqi sighed as she finally began to release her true intentions in bringing up this conversation.

Xu Jiaqi told everything she knew, making sure to leave out some details on purpose in order to not draw suspicion to herself. If she knew too much, Xie Yongrui would definitely catch on and question why she knew all those information when it was supposed to happen before she even grew up to be a child.

Xie Yongrui coughed, finally realizing what Xu Jiaqi wanted to tell him. He regained his full composure at thought for a few moments seriously.

"So.. Han Zhongli... Hm, I do recall that name. Although.."

Xu Jiaqi: Please, please, just say that he's dead! Say it with certainty! Then, everything will be alright, this mission would be checked off for good!

"Although?"

"Qiqi, I'm sorry.. That day, when I fled, I saw uncle Han be stabbed by an incoming soldier. I remember he told me that I must survive.. And then, I never saw him again. The injury he had to suffer was so severe. Added to the fact that the enemies were right in front of him, I don't think that he's still alive today."

Although Xie Yongrui felt uncomfortable telling Xu Jiaqi the news of her father's death like this, he wanted to be frank with her so that she could get some sort of closure.

'System, how is it?' Xu Jiaqi asked, feeling very hopeful.

[Wait, Host. It's still verifying. I believe it, Host! This is the way! Hail lord Xie!] The System exclaimed as he worked his magic on the process and started to run his tests on the case.

'Okay, you go do your own thing.'

"..I see. Well, I just wanted to discover who he was. Now that I 've learned of his identity, I don't think that it would be weighing on my mind any further.. Thank God you're here, Rui. You confirmed it, I'm satisfied with just that." Xu Jiaqi smiled.

Xie Yongrui let out a huge sigh of relief as the matter was finally resolved and Xu Jiaqi didn't hold anything against him. It was a bit strange to know that your birth father sacrificed himself for your current lover, but it wasn't like Han Zhongli had ever done anything special in particular for Xu Jiaqi.

Xu Jiaqi also didn't hold any sort of specials sentiments, only curiosity.

"Did I scare you?" Xu Jiaqi giggled, remembering how shocked Xie Yongrui had been at the beginning.

"You did.. You scared me so badly. I thought that you had gotten tired of me."

"How can that be? I'm not that easy of a person, I wouldn't just throw someone out.. especially when it's you, who I've gotten deeply interested in."

Xu Jiaqi wasn't lying, she was truly interested in the matters of this strange soul binding event. Xie Yongrui was a part of it. Not to mention, he was handsome, capable, had a good personality, and was good in bed.

Xu Jiaqi gave out a devilish smirk as she slithered her limbs around the man, feeling cheeky and adventurous. "Say, Rui, how about we deepen our.. connections together?"

"..an't."

"Hm? What did you say?"

"We can't! Qiqi, you're still exhausted. If we do it right now, it'll burden your body. Besides.. this isn't the best place.." Xie Yongrui was rather embarrassed as well.
