"Yep! I thought I made that very clear. Did you perhaps not believe that there could be someone like me loitering in the world?"

"...I will have to talk about this with my lord before I could say anything back to you." Xu Jiaqi wanted to seek a middle ground and decided on that.

"I am perfectly fine with that, but to me, it seems like your master is someone who is willing to give anything to you~" He Yiyuan commented.

"Such confidence." Xu Jiaqi coldly replied. However, she didn't object to that statement. Xie Yongrui was so forgiving to her that she was starting to believe that she was the real master, not him. Clearly, Xie Yongrui was an ambitious man in his own sense. Although he didn't show it outright, he held his ambitions close to his heart and worked on his own plans behind her back.

It wasn't that he did not trust her, but it was that he did not want her to be plagued with his matters. Even so, Xu Jiaqi still managed to find out, so it was rather pointless on his end.

Nonetheless, things were working well for them. She couldn't let herself be bothered by what this man uttered. He Yiyuan came and left like a storm. His existence was akin to none, and he was the embodiment of an anomaly.

Xu Jiaqi quickly bid farewell with He Yiyuan after that, and the man thanked her for the assistance during their trip. She then returned to her own quarters.

"..Hah." Xu Jiaqi scoffed lightly as she slowly continued her work, looking over important documents over plans that she wished to launch. The thought of He Yiyuan's sudden proposal couldn't get out of her head.

She wanted to accept it, but did she have to correct cards to play? Was she able to contend to him? What if he suddenly decides to back out, and she harms her own progress?

Soon, it will be winter. Then, spring would follow. The beginning of a new year meant that there would be even more chances for her to play upon.

"He Yiyuan, the Dragon, or whoever he thinks he is, no one shall block my plans." Xu Jiaqi was determined as she stacked all her papers up and muttered lowly.

In this whole situation, where on Earth was the System?

This question bothered her so badly. She floated in between being extremely worried about the System who went away, and confident that he was out because he had a goal to accomplish. A duty to follow, and that he would come back as a stronger version of himself.

But a part of her worried. What if the System never came back? Would she be stuck in this world, and end up dying for good? To tell the truth, it wasn't that bad of an idea. She wasn't supposed to live this many lives, she had already experienced different circumstances in settings that would only appear in fantasy novels in her original world.

"System..." Xu Jiaqi sighed as she looked towards the ceilings, staring blankly.

[Host!] Out of nowhere, the characteristic sound of the System, that Xu Jiaqi had been longing so hard for appeared and shocked her.

"What- You're back! You're actually back! System, where the hell have you been? I couldn't reach you at all.." Xu Jiaqi was naturally taken aback, but out of all the emotions she was having right now, she was overwhelmed with happiness.

The System had returned. Ultimately, this was a fortunate occasion.

In the whole world, she would be the only one who knew that she was a transmigrator, someone who shouldn't be here. That thought especially made her lonely. She couldn't believe it. Out of all things, the thing that made her feel empty would be this kind of matter.

The fact that she felt detached from her surroundings because she was alone. Did that mean her emotions were already getting to her head?

[Please calm down, Host. I was doing something for your sake. There was something important that needed to be attended to. I apologize for leaving you without saying anything, but it really was an urgent matter..]

"..It's alright. All that matters is that you have came back here. I don't know what happened, but if you want to tell me, then I am always here. Otherwise, it's also fine if you want to keep your silence." Xu Jiaqi sighed in relief.

The System was deathly afraid that the Host would be severely mad at him and even form distrust and suspicion. Even though he could 'take care' of that being and prevent the Host from triggering more of those memories, he was unable to erase her emotions.

The situation was still shaky, but he was able to ensure that the Host shouldn't be able to realize anything even if that being's soul came to float around her again.

However, with the System's administrations, he should be able to round everything up until they could find a more suitable point in time. He didn't want them to be separated, but right now, only disaster could come out of their meetings.

To protect both sides, this was needed.

[..Host, are you mad at me?] The System questioned in worry after a long pause.

"Mad? Towards you? Not really. I've done some pretty selfish things, and I don't mind that you take your own actions too. Don't tell me, you ended up running away for longer because you didn't want me to get mad? If you did that, I will scold you!" Xu Jiaqi huffed helplessly.

[Host..! You're the best!!] If the System could be summoned out right now, he would definitely have rushed to hug Xu Jiaqi tightly. Before he came back, he was actually waiting while debating with himself.

On what type of reaction Xu Jiaqi would have at his return. He had hypothesized about so many things, from the best to worst.

But of course, Xu Jiaqi was someone who wouldn't pay too much attention to irrelevant details.

Joy was tied between the two beings, and a happy mood was strewn.
