Chapter 122 - 3.18

Xu Jiaqi smiled as she turned her head to look at Lin, who was anxious at the Miss' stubborn behavior. She had reported the case of her wanting to fight with the soldiers to Xie Yongrui, but the man did not prevent anything from happening and just told Lin to observe.

Truth be told, Lin was not too expectant on this new girl's arrival. She was nothing but a frail child who didn't seem to possess any major strengths. But the lord still treated her specially, so it made her wonder. The child was indeed smart, a lot smarter than her peers, but the estate was overflowing with smart people who also had the strength to execute their brilliant ideas.

Compared to them, Xu Jiaqi did seem lackluster, making her not that trusting. Not only that, one of her jobs was to observe this newcomer. The lord had appointed her to be one of the maid candidates because not only was she skillful at serving another, she used to be part of Xie Yongrui's elite troops.

She was withdrawn from the group, but she still retained her various techniques. Now, she played the part of Xu Jiaqi's maid.

Just like what Xu Jiaqi had requested of her before, Lin orchestrated a visit towards the soldiers' chamber. They were now walking towards said place. Lin was apathetic, while Xu Jiaqi was in great spirits, getting ready to show off her newfound skills.

However, when they got to the place, there was no warm welcome. In fact, the place looked like it was a mess. Xu Jiaqi, just by sweeping her eyes across the place, was fairly able to tell that it was probably an intentional action done just to spite her.

The atmosphere of an abandoned graveyard was so prominent in this case.

Xu Jiaqi did not feel bothered, and just walked in without shame. She slowly began to spot out the knights from their places of hiding. After she finished pointing at every single one of the guards in here, Xu Jiaqi smirked.

"Is this the correct time to formally introduce myself? Oh well, I suppose it doesn't really matter how I introduce myself.. You all don't seem too happy with me coming out here." Xu Jiaqi looked down on the men as she walked forward and raised her head high.

She walked to the compartment filled with real, sharp weapons and picked a decent blade up. It was rather heavy, but considering this world's denizens' physical ability, she actually found not much trouble swinging it.

"Hmm.. This seems fine." Xu Jiaqi attached the blade to the side of her hips. "Hello, my name is Xu Jiaqi. I am pretty sure that you have heard of me prior to this encounter, since my arrival and the lord's favor apparently created a much larger boom than what I had expected. All that aside, my one and only goal today for coming here... Do you know what it is?"

The place was silent. No one was willing to answer her.

"Hmm? Was the knights' order such a wimpy squadron who can't even offer the proper way of greeting?"

"I shall answer myself, then. Yes, yes, Miss Xu! I desperately want to know, but I am afraid of talking to such an ethereal beauty like you.. I am afraid that you are way above my league. My small self could only  wonder what fantastic goal you have in mind!" Xu Jiaqi spoke with a loud voice. 

Recently, Xu Jiaqi had birthed out a special interest called reading and writing dramatic literature. It made her be somewhat influenced as well.

The guard were dumbfounded, but controlled their expression very well as he strutted along with her.

"Very well! I shall answer. My goal is to... Beat you all up. I have realized that fighting really is the best way to resolve all of our problems and misconceptions. Shall we converse using our power?" Xu Jiaqi snickered.

"It would be fun. Just come at me. It doesn't matter if it's just one person or all of you at the same time. I will.. thoroughly teach you a lesson." She giggled deliriously as she swung the heavy sword. The person in question was slightly intimidated, but he kept up his attitude.

"..Tsk! You asked for it. Even if you are someone who the lord picked up.. I don't know what he was thinking while he made that decision, but I hope that you do have a force to be reckoned with. I know that you might think that since this is just a mere sparring-" The man rambled.

"Shh." Annoyed at the endless chatter, Xu Jiaqi placed a finger on her lips and the man immediately shut up. "Less talking, more actions." She advised. 

She was a magic swordsman. That was what Xu Jiaqi called her current state as. Someone who was both proficient in magic and swordsmanship was rare. Besides, Xu Jiaqi was clearly perfectly sure that her work was enough.

'System, is there any way I could perhaps utilize my strengthened soul for power?' Xu Jiaqi questioned. Although what she had achieved for now was already considered a madman's effort, she was still not satiated.

[Uhh.. Does Host plan on using more magic than what you have already been using on yourself?!!]

Truth be told, she was actually already using rather interesting enchantments on herself all this time. It was something that would make her calculations skyrocket due to her bright mind. From offense to defense, Xu Jiaqi was clearly very prepared.

'Basically, yes. I've calculated everything properly, you know? I can't possibly.. beat them all with physical power. I need another way, but my magic.. the thing I prepared is nowhere near enough. The reason why I came here instead of waiting more, however, is because..' Xu Jiaqi smirked. 'Let's just say I came to impress.'

[...Host, it's very risky. Not only will you disrupt the world's balance, there is also a high chance that these people will start having high expectations over you. When that time comes, do you expect that you would be able to dish out strong magic constantly?]

'It's now or never. This is our chance to establish ourselves in this place. It's the perfect opportunity.' Xu Jiaqi was adamant. If there was any type of path she could take, she would gladly receive it.

However, the System still refused to concede, saying that it was too dangerous.

From there, after her introduction passed, she began to glare at every single one of them.

Then, the battle finally started after moments of waiting. At first, since the soldiers did not want to hurt her that much, they deliberately sent their weakest link in power in order to essentially play around.

Thus, they released one men at a time, trying to show Xu Jiaqi the difference between them.

However, one by one, the opponents that came to beat Xu Jiaqi in an event fight got beaten up.

It came to a point where the men finally started taking her seriously and attacked with great power. 

As time passed, Xu Jiaqi felt the exhaustion coming up to her and knew that the situation was turning sour for her. 

She couldn't endure for much longer. 

Just then, a godsent gift arrived.

"What are you dozing out for? It seems like you're having a lot of fun exercising with my subordinates, but you look like you're in the verge of fainting, you know? Hmm.." Xie Yongrui approached Xu Jiaqi with light steps as she and the others halted right away. 

There it was, Xie Yongrui's distinctive voice that came out of nowhere.

'Questionable timing, but okay..' Xu Jiaqi commented. Xie Yongrui's entrance was like music to her ears.

"My lovely lord, it's a good day. May blessings always be with you." Xu Jiaqi stopped the fight and made a neat curtsy to the lord. The rest of the men also did not plan to attack anymore, since the lord was there.

"M-my lord.. This girl! This girl is out of her mind, she asked us all to charge on her. She's lost it, my lord! A crazy fella! If it isn't too impudent, I would like to ask. Exactly what is you intentions in taking her in, my lord?" One of the men shouted out.

"Oh? Yes! Finally, you learned? I'm crazy! I'm glad that you realized. I was beginning to think that you are intellectually damaged, to not be able to see the virtues laid inside of me. Oh, how pitiful you are, little lamb!" Like the dramatic actress she was, Xu Jiaqi began to shed tears that spurted out of nowhere, shocking the guards who had been wary of her all this time.

This.. this crazy lady, where did she come out of??! Just a few moments ago, she was so fierce, and yet, who on Earth now seemed so fragile, like she was made out of porcelain.

"Lord, this behavior is.." One of them wanted to raise concern as he was disturbed by the change, but was quickly cut off by no one other than Xie Yongrui himself.

"Since when did we care about how things are acceptable or not?" Xie Yongrui questioned with a confused face, as if the man had just asked something terribly stupid. "We are clearly just as crazy as her."

By the side, Xu Jiaqi was trying to emulate sadness as much as possible, but Xie Yongrui's remarks made her want to burst out laughing.

Side Story

The System, who Xu Jiaqi kept overworking: Hmp, I must bear with this, the Host will let me rest after this.. Just one more investigation.. One more... I must endure!!

Side story: As the System conducted his spying on some criminals hidden inside the Empire to try and obtain their weaknesses, his eyes ended up being stained by some questionable acts.. 

System: Host, I want to go home. I don't want to do this anymore! Wuwuwu~
