Although it was still not the most stable thing ever, he did have a substantial amount of work put into maintaining everything under his control. He knew the importance of that factor. And that was enough for him to live his days without having to panic and think about all the possible worst outcomes that would emerge. All the adversities he could face.

This was unlike the current Ruler, who had to live in constant uncertainty due to his lack of momentum.

"I have said that you are in an unstable position, but the truth is, the same goes for the Empire. The people might look happy for now.. But our place is not the only independent region that the Emperor hasn't been able to usurp into his control. I would even go as far as to say that his head is empty for not maximizing his chances of being a Ruler. The Emperor basically set his own death trap when he rose to the position without having the mindset to manipulate those below him to the finest details. He was standing on top of a thin pole that could be shattered any moment now.

"Granted, not much time has passed since he stepped up for the position, but this period should be the most crucial to stabilize one's power as someone who had changed the Empire's era. Shifting dynasties can never come without any real repercussions, and the Emperor should know this above everything else. The fact that he wasn't able to see how much his actions ended up shaking the balance of the Empire.. I'm afraid that they don't have much time left before the world is going to stir one more time."

"Thus, I am here to present you with my thoughts, my lord. You are strong, brave, and meticulous in your path. You know your strengths, and how to use it. If I was to join forces with you.. Then I will make sure that we become an even more frightening pair. I will make sure that.. There will be nobody that could come and obstruct us." Xu Jiaqi stood up from her seat and went beside Xie Yongrui.

She stretched out her hand and landed it on Xie Yongrui's shoulder. Then, she moved it over to his neck, and up to his face.

"My lord, is it not time for a new type of power to arise? Taking back the Empire is too lackluster. You will just have to deal with a lot of trouble to repair everything and bring glory to it. It is simply.. not worth it. So, instead of that.. Why don't we come back as a greater force, and subdue the current Empire later on?"

"You won't have to deal with the boring things, but you will be able to see the broken Empire and mock it for what you have endured up until this point. Isn't that the most spectacular ending ever?" Xu Jiaqi wrapped her arms around Xie Yongrui, and pushed him down to the floor.

The lord's personality was not flirtatious, but it wasn't like he was innocent either. In order to get what he wanted, he had used his looks quite a lot. A handsome face that emitted a refined aura, although the person in question wasn't as refined as he looked.

Like a demoness, her arms were akin to a slithering snake as it caressed Xie Yongrui ever so gently. Drawing more reactions for him. Raising his passion. Messing up with his train of thoughts.

As long as she played this right, then this game of messy politics would surely be won by her too.

"Come to my side, my lord. I shall bring you to victory.. And present to you the greatest authority in the world." Xu Jiaqi latched herself onto the man, knowing that he wasn't rejecting her touch at all. In fact, his hands were already starting to roam around her back, trying to grasp at her intentions while enjoying the interaction.

His probing eyes seemed to doubt her, but she let none of those views affect her as she let out a light giggle.

"Since you are trying to lure me into this kind of plan, then you must have a set price that you want me to follow. What is it that you will accomplish after having done such a thing? What will you gain out of all this? Do you wish to be an Empress after everything is over?" Xie Yongrui snapped out of his deepest thoughts and frowned at the woman.

No matter how he thought about it, the only one who would get direct benefits from this kind of viewpoint was him. Did she desire to be with him as partners in life?

That... didn't seem too bad, to be honest.

However, instead of answering him the way he expected her to, Xu Jiaqi just started to laugh loudly. 

As if Xie Yongrui just told her the funniest joke of the year.
