Chapter 14 - 1.11

"Since you have provoked me, then watch your back from this day onwards, you never know when the person I hired will come and sabotage you." Xu Jiaqi sneered as she whispered lowly beside Bai Mengxue's ear.

The woman's face changed colors as she looked at Xu Jiaqi with dread, pushing her away with maximum strength.

Xu Jiaqi let herself stagger backwards, planning to fall down to the floor and ruin the woman further.

There can't be two white lotuses in the same area. This woman was trying to forge up a scheme. Fine! She will retaliate using similar ways, but doing it better.

Xu Jiaqi: You want to accuse me of causing harm to you? Dream on. I should be in jail a hundred years ago but I'm still here, happy and healthy.

System: Host, you're dead, is that healthy? Also, it's really heartwarming seeing you finally admit to your crimes. I'm proud.

Xu Jiaqi: Oh, so you don't want your bonus anymore?

System: I will shut up right now.

The world bows down to influence.

Before Xu Jiaqi could land on the cold, hard ground, a pair of large hands caught her body and embraced her gently.

"Qiqi, are you alright?"

Xu Jiaqi was taken aback as she looked at the taller man. "Zicheng ge.. Yes, I am fine. My apologies for the inconvenience." With his help, Xu Jiaqi balanced herself and stood back up straight.

Xu Jiaqi: Damn, this man really can't bear to see my plans work. Just let me fall!

It was nice to know that this man would save her in times like this, but his action destroyed her agenda of plotting against Bai Mengxue.

'Forget it, it should still work.'

Qin Zicheng's hands stayed on Xu Jiaqi even after she was already balanced. She wanted to say something, but the man looked at her as if saying that this situation should be handled by him.

Intrigued as to what the man would do, Xu Jiaqi conceded.

"It's good that you're fine. Otherwise.. I would've taken the initiative to teach a person without manners some lessons." Qin Zicheng glared at Bai Mengxue, who from his point of view clearly pushed Xu Jiaqi to the point of falling.

"I-it wasn't me! I just felt uncomfortable, so I wanted her to back away! I pushed her lightly, there's no way.. that she fell because of my push." Bai Mengxue defended herself. "Zicheng ge.. this matter really is not my intention. I didn't want Miss.. Xu to fall down,"

"Mengxue.. don't say anything more than this." Zhou Yuan had a troubled expression. The situation was getting out of hand. There was the Xu heiress and the Qin heir on the other side, whereas he was just starting out, and Bai Mengxue was nothing but a normal woman.

"I told you not to call me ge, we don't have a close relationship. Besides, intentional or not, does it matter? If I unintentionally step over your parents' dead body, would you not have grudges?" Qin Zicheng asked.

"That's too much!" she protested.

"It's just a hypothetical situation, why are you panicking so much? What, you can't answer?"

Qin Zicheng's expression made it seem like he was going to do exactly what the threat contained.

Bai Mengxue bit her lips and collected her emotions up before answering.

"I.. I wouldn't. Because it's not done out of harmful intent." Bai Mengxue stayed true to her character and replied, her eyes brimming with justice.

"Is that so? Noah, come out." Qin Zicheng sneered, his words filled with scorn as he called 'Noah'.

Noah was his personal assistant. Being a high ranked servant of the Qin family, the man naturally had to possess a variety of skills throughout many ranges of expertise.

Noah was raised in the underground business community. From little, his life was specifically designed to cater for Qin Zicheng's needs in the future. Now, he was able to stand beside the man and serve his orders.

One of the things he could do was spilling blood everywhere. Torturing his master's enemies was one of his forte.

Noah was blond, and his ice blue eyes looked apathetic as he approached Qin Zicheng and bowed politely. "Young master, what are your orders?"

"That woman. She pushed someone I'm interested in.. knowing me and my personality, what do you think has to be done?" Qin Zicheng asked.

Noah's eyes flickered for a split second when he Qin Zicheng proclaim that he was interested in Xu Jiaqi. His eyes lingered on the aforementioned woman, as if rating her from top to bottom before nodding at his master.

"Naturally, the perpetrator should be paid back in heavy amounts. The Qin family's people can't be wronged, no matter how small the deed is. We repay kindness with kindness, malice with malice." Noah answered.

"She said that it was unintentional, though. How do we pay them back in that case?"

Noah seemed to get what Qin Zicheng was trying to make him do and nodded lightly before approaching Bai Mengxue and stood in front of her. His hands went inside his suit.

Xu Jiaqi: My God, the female lead will die just like this?

He then drew his weapon, which was a black magnum pistol.

"My apologies... My hands slipped. It was unintentional," Noah's pistol was perfectly aimed towards Bai Mengxue's heart, his finger positioned against the trigger as he slowly lowered the gun down and retracted it.

His intent was only to scare the woman. He always had his eyes on his master even when he wasn't called, so he knew that this woman had some schemes laying around her head.

He hated this type of poisonous women trying to act innocent and justify themselves the most.

"I-I'm.. I'm sorry.." Bai Mengxue started crying heavily and turned to bury herself within Zhou Yuan's arms.

Zhou Yuan was visibly uncomfortable since this was in a public setting, and the whole hall had their eyes on them.. He was someone who cared about face quite a lot, so he instinctively pushed away the frail woman nested in his embrace little by little.
