"Hello? Who is it?" Upon seeing the foreign caller ID, Zhao Xinran had a bad feeling about this call all of a sudden, but she picked it after having the ringtone sound out for a couple seconds.

Xu Jiaqi huffed her breath lightly, preparing and polishing her acting gears.

"Let's see.. It's been months since we last talked, yeah?" Xu Jiaqi spoke playfully. Within her hands were all the materials that she needed to bring this villain family down to the ground and stomp them to the depths of despair.

"Who- who are you?" Zhao Xinran already had an inkling on who this caller was, but she refused to believe the truth and wanted to deny it.

"Of course.. I am someone that you are ve~ry familiar with. Your sweet, little angel, Xu Jiaqi." She replied with glee. Come on, don't tell me, you've forgotten all about me? How can you wrong me like that, hm?"

"I-I don't know you! You have the wrong number!" Zhao Xinran refuted, wanting to shirk away, but at the same time- she couldn't bring herself to hang up.

What if this self-proclaimed angel wanted to impart something grave to her? She had to be careful! What did she want to tell her?

Xu Jiaqi rolled her eyes, thinking that Zhao Xinran's acting was so terrible that it was beyond funny.

"Oh, don't worry. Even if you don't want to acknowledge the truth, I will make sure that injustice will be repaid with proper punishment. After all, we can't exactly have trash like you roam around the society, can we?" Xu Jiaqi giggled.

"Zhao Xinran, I hope you didn't think that my intention for calling you was to sit around and cry in distress... What I have in store for you, especially your parents- is much more vibrant than what you might think. Just sit still.. and wait as your life crumbles down. You can't escape, sweetheart,"

Rather than using foul language or violence, Xu Jiaqi was the type of person to exact revenge in the most practical and straightforward way- ruining their lives according to how harsh their wrongdoings were.

Of course, she wouldn't willingly bend her back over a small case, but if it was a poisonous leech like Zhao Xinran at hand, she would gladly deliver the gift of retribution to the vixen. Planning such an elaborate case, it was  meant for nothing more than to satisfy her own perfectionist attitude, though.

Just like that, without waiting for a second longer, Xu Jiaqi hung up the call and left Zhao Xinran, who was on the opposite of the telephone line trembling in fear and worry. How could she not react like that?

The future that she had paved for herself, was it really going to be taken away by Xu Jiaqi?

She was a well functioning member of society, and had a lot of friends. It wasn't like she didn't already know who Xu Jiaqi was. That face.. That beautiful face that she had seen hundreds of times in the past..

When one of her friends showed her a picture of a streamer, going by the name of [Her Majesty's Abode], Zhao Xinran immediately recognized who the woman in question was. It was clearly Xu Jiaqi, the one who her family wronged in order to get ahead in life for themselves.

Also, she had slightly seen her content, and heard her name be mentioned multiple times. Obviously, she never said anything about her relations with the woman and just acted like she didn't know anything when Xu Jiaqi was mentioned, but it still bother her from time to time.

The fact that Xu Jiaqi was able to spend money like breathing air vexed her at first, but she was still confident at that time.

She consoled herself by thinking that the money she was spending so willfully was part of the consolation money that her father sadly had to give out to her because it would save them from a great deal of trouble, but now that Xu Jiaqi was coming out to her and saying those frightening warnings..

Should she worry about this a bit more? She had a bad feeling about it, something that told her that she shouldn't shrug this case off. Xu Jiaqi.. This woman had changed.

She still remembered Xu Jiaqi's birthday, and recalled that she had just turned into an adult. Could that be a sign? With her rise in popularity, and her confident, assured way of talking about ruining her life..

She bit her nails and thought carefully as looked at the standing mirror showing her reflection in front of her. Seeing her pretty face, her clean look, and expensive apparels, she was convinced.

No matter how small the threat was, she shouldn't brush it off. This was the life she chose to live, a life that was going to be filled with thorns no matter what.

She was bound to be the victor. She had to be the victor!

She was going to dispose of everything that stood in her way.

Picking up her phone once again, she dialed another number and waited for it to be picked up anxiously. Thankfully, it was picked up right away.

She immediately put up a farce. To fool her benefactor, she pretended to weep pitifully and mutter his name repeatedly. Naturally, the man was worried, and asked her what was wrong without haste.

"Xinran! What- who wronged you? Why are you crying like this?! I will make sure that they will disappear from the face of the Earth! Just tell me who it was!" The man shouted with a loud voice, his words laced with anger.

"Xuan ge, can you help me with something? I want you to.. look up someone's identity, their information, everything.. And if possible-" Zhao Xinran hesitated for a split second, thinking twice on whether she was being too hasty or not. However, after considering it multiple times, she finally made a decision.

It was Xu Jiaqi's fault!

She had already obtained the happy life that she wanted, why did this bitch have to crawl back up again like an annoying cockroach and try to ruin everything for her?!

She had to calm down. She had done everything perfectly up until now.

It wasn't her first time doing this. It wasn't her first time acting flawlessly, and it wouldn't be her last.

Song Ziyuan was infatuated with her because of the persona that she made, the one she fabricated up until now. The man she was talking to right now, Yu Xuan, also fell using the same way.

As long as this hindrance gets removed, and she continues on with her act..

It would be fine. Her life would continue normally.

Zhao Xinran grinned devilishly, a deranged look surfacing up.

"Xuan ge, could you make it so that she wouldn't appear in front of me again?" Zhao Xinran cried. "I'm really tired.. I can't do this anymore, Xuan ge.. Am I being too evil? I really wish that.. life would just stop, so I can rest."

"X-Xinran! Don't think of such bad thoughts!" Yu Xuan was shocked with her statements and immediately sought to appease her. "Just say the name and provide me with her basic information. I will make sure that.. your wish would come true."

Having received such words, Zhao Xinran was beyond ecstatic. As expected, she wasn't wrong to latch onto this golden thigh as well apart from Song Ziyuan.

Song Ziyuan was much more skeptical with everything that happened around him. If she wasn't careful, then their relationship could fall apart farther than what they currently shared.

She wasn't sure why, but recently, Song Ziyuan hadn't been acting like usual. He could be seen in a haggard state often, and his emotional spikes had also been worsening. He used to act lovingly towards her, even though he would still have some off moments. 

However, his behavior had begun to escalate recently for the worse.

She didn't dare to ask any further, and still maintained her act as a lovely girl, giving him support in every way she could. Acting her part, and playing to his tune, making sure that he would only see her considerate side.

Even so, it was a little bit tiring. She felt like it was too unfair! How could he be so self-absorbed?

She was supposed to be his girlfriend, but even Yu Xuan treats her better than Song Ziyuan! She knew that Song Ziyuan and Yu Xuan were on different levels. She chose the former man because he was much better and would give her better qualities in life.

But with the way he was treating her.. It made her worry for her future, to be honest.
