Chapter 204 - 4.30

All of that said and done, the pair actually did not meet up until a week later, where they scheduled a simple meal at a casual restaurant. Not anything too fancy or overdone, just a simple meal between two simple.. people?

No, definitely not.

By just sitting face to face, both parties could tell that they were trying to ogle out the other. It wasn't anything harmful or sinister, just a curiosity based viewing.

"Alright, shall we get down to the actual talk? I'm really curious, how did President Tang suddenly develop a.. might I say, budding feeling for me?" Xu Jiaqi pried.

By calling him out by the title, Xu Jiaqi had just revealed that she was perfectly aware of who he was. Her eyes were full of confidence, and it was like she knew she wouldn't lose out in tis deal no matter what happens, which was why she became so relaxed.

"I don't know. Miss Xu just gives off a very comfortable feeling.. Something I took a liking to." Tang Yizhou was rather shy to express his true thoughts, since it did seem a bit strange when he thought about it a second time.  "I actually have a peculiar condition that causes me a lot of pain no matter what time of the day it is, and it has even gotten so bad that I couldn't have a wink of sleep on some unlucky days. The most I've slept ever since this condition developed is one hour."

It sounded super bad. Especially for someone like Tang Yizhou, who had to deal with people all day long in order to fulfill his duties. It was easy to set up a temporary proxy after what he had now became, but still, he had to stray away from any unwanted rumors taht might bring doubtful attitudes to the corporation.

He had to recover extremely fast, or his empire could crumble any moment if he wasn't careful enough.

That was why, Xu Jiaqi's effect was a godsent gift to him, something that he had to hold onto in order to get back in his track of life.

"Hmm.. I truly wonder why that is." Sipping from her glass of strawberry milkshake, she looked at Tang Yizhou with a dazed look.

She had waited one week before meting because she wanted to ask the System to investigate this man. Contrary to her beliefs, the System did not immediately accept her request and even repeatedly asked her to reconsider.

Unfortunately for her companion, the more he tried to refuse this request, the more she wanted him to do it. After all, it wasn't everyday that the System would say that he was unwilling to do something. In fact, this was the first time he was so adamant in refusing.

When she coerced him into becoming a money making System, he did not even reject her this harshly.

The results came out to be a bit of a surprise, but it wasn't anything that she thought the System would try to avoid. He was excellent, but nothing abnormal.

The founder of a company called Ecinos, which was the creator of both Archaen's Light and Heaven's Chaos. Two big entities that were famous in their own fields.

This same man, how did he end up right in front of her, claiming that she was his savior and all that? Was she being scammed? Did the System send the wrong information file to her?

That shouldn't be the case. The System listed out an extremely detailed profile of him, and there was clearly a statement that the man had been plagued with a mysterious illness that stumped his mind and caused him to not be able to function normally.

In those trying times, Xu Jiaqi appeared in form of a streamer, and brought changes to his disease. Wasn't that too convenient? Xu Jiaqi was supposed to just a small person who was set to live a tragic life.

'I also feel like there is something that I forgot.. No, not just one thing, but a lot of things. Things that I can't seem to recall.'

It bothered her. She felt like this wasn't the first time she had been in this kind of dilemma. Not being able to remember important facts that was floating somewhere in her pit of memories, but was just not in her reach. 

When she tried to force these empty memories to come back, it only caused her head to hurt badly. This was not scientific at all!

Unconsciously, she fell into a daydreaming session in reality, causing Tang Yizhou to call her name repeatedly and receive no answers in return.

"..Xu."

"Miss Xu!" Tang Yizhou raised his voice a bit, which was the one that finally spiked the woman to react.

Xu Jiaqi widened her eyes as her ears perked and caught on to Tang Yizhou's shout.

"..Ah, did you call me? Pardon me, I was too deep in thought.. I shouldn't be doing this when this is our first formal meeting." Xu Jiaqi scratched her face lightly, a bit embarrassed over the turn of events.

"No, it's fine.. I was just worried about you." Tang Yizhou waved his hand, trying to dissuade her notion that she troubled him.

From there, they continued to have small talks. They were both sort of interested in each other, although Tang Yizhou was obviously much more invested in this meeting. Xu Jiaqi responded to him like how she would any other person she met for the first time, and put up a rather likeable, but out-of-the-reach personality.

Building an unbreakable wall, while at the same time trying to enter the opponent's heart. She was an expert at playing with people's feelings, so this kind of thing, leading Tang Yizhou on, it wasn't anything hard.

The thought that System was wary of this man still bothered her to this moment, even after they had spent tens of minutes talking to each other. He seemed normal, even though his status was huge. Why on Earth did her System show such a reaction?

Her eyes constantly tried to scan this man for any anomaly, and she continuously failed.

'Perhaps System was mistaken?' Xu Jiaqi thought. It was unlikely, but there was a slim chance that this little guy overreacted...

Whatever.

The two clicked off rather well. They shared a lot of similarities, and were able to engage in a peaceful and fine conversation. 

"Shall we go somewhere? Where do you usually like to go in your free time?" Xu Jiaqi questioned, wanting to go to a second location. 

They had both finished their meals, and it was nearing the one hour mark since they first entered this restaurant.

Time was precious, and rather than just lazing around talking with no action like this, Xu Jiaqi preferred having some tension mixed in. Anything fun and involved the two of them interacting closely. 

"This question.." Tang Yizhou hesitated to answer.

"Why? Is it too hard? Just think up of a location, I want to learn what your tastes are first. That's important to build a relationship, right?" Xu Jiaqi scrolled through her phone screen to look for any potential places they could go to.

"I usually go to the company if I have free time." Tang Yizhou said. "It's a boring fact.. I know."

Tang Yizhou was a busy man, but not because he was required to be busy. It was a well known fact that the man was a workaholic who loved his line of work so much that his free time was spent on his craft, improving his business empire and bringing it into further success. This straightforward character was also what captivated many business partners.

It was like the man was married to the action of working itself. In the first place, what was the man trying to achieve? He already had huge success internationally, and he could just sit still and wait for offers to come his way if he wanted to. However, he still chose to fill the entirety of his day working, only sparing some time to interact with his younger brother.

Xu Jiaqi stilled for a moment, processing his words. She was not expecting that answer, but it could work too. As long as this man permitted her to go with him, that is.

At this point, Xu Jiaqi was still rather wary and suspicious of Tang Yizhou, and it should go the same way for the man. She was sure that the man would try to investigate her background. When he does that, the information he finds would not align with her persona of being a rich young lady, and he would start to question her integrity.

She wondered what he would do once his suspicion started to reach the maximum possible stage.

"We could go there if you want to bring me along. But President Tang surely won't dare to do that, right?" Xu Jiaqi left a sly smile that enticed the man in front of her, trying to pry into his desires and seek a loophole.

Xu Jiaqi thought that her statements would eventually cause the man to lose interest in her since she didn't think that the President Tang would be someone who would stand by with her continuous bullshit spewing.

However, to Tang Yizhou..

Xu Jiaqi's conniving attitude was like a little cunning fox trying to steal his heart.

Xu Jiaqi: System, spit it out. What do you know?!!

System: Ahhhh!! Police gentleman, there is a robbery trying to threaten me with my life!!!

Xu Jiaqi: Where can you find policemen in the System Space?
