1 If She Survived, She'll Be Dead

The ground felt very soft beneath her feet because of the early rain. The air was mixed with the fragrance of plants as the night breezes slightly chilled her. There were swooshes by her ears as she walked opposite the winds directions and began to climb the wet stairs.

On the mountain peak, she saw a faint silhouette of a standing man. Her walking speeds up quickly. The man was standing with his back towards her.

More than a decade, Mei-Xing had been aboard and returned a few months back. When Zhang Han messaged her to meet him tonight at the cliff, she couldn't help but feel a little nervous.

'Please, God! No more surprises.'

From the day she returned back from the States Zhang Han had been giving her surprises almost every day. Romantic candlelight dinners or late night musical shows and taking her for the outing and giving her gifts. These past few months she was preoccupied with him spending most of her time in his company.

Mei-Xing never thought, there's a person who loved her more than anyone in this world, he dotes her more than her father, cares for her more than her mother. Since childhood till now, he loved her the most. All these years staying apart he didn't change a bit.

Sometimes, she really wonders how could a person love this deeply? She is everything for him!

Living in the states for long years, Mei-Xing disremembered his promise to marry her when she grew up. At that time she was five and doesn't even knew what does marriage means. So it's natural to overlook that. Afterward, she was fully occupied with her exquisitely pact-lifestyle in the states.

But today she felt a bit nervous because tomorrow is their engagement ceremony followed by their destination wedding in a month. After picking up the couple ring's she didn't saw him for the rest of the day.

Swoosh...

Mei-Xing felt like something brushed passed right through her. Within that second, she heard a sharp yet faint sound of something hitting a tree trunk as an arrow struck. She didn't hear it clearly as the noise caused by the giggling leaves with the strong wind was more audible.

What was that! She couldn't see it properly in the dark night.

Mei-Xing paused while pointedly gazing at her left side from where she heard the sound, shortly she turned to take a look in the opposite side. Narrowing she examined her surrounding discreetly but the trees were dense and dark with the dim street light onside stairs.

Is that what she had thought or maybe she's overthinking.

Forget it! It might be some night creatures.

Inspecting for a while, Mei-Xing took a deep breath before proceeding towards her destination.

Nearing towards the man in the dark she felt exhausted while panting heavily. It's been months she had walked such a long distance.

"Zhang Han?" she called in between trying to catch her short breaths. As she saw the man's outline almost, there was amiss.

Woosh! She sensed a wind piercing sound like a bullet traveling with lightning speed. Before she could seize the situation,

Zooop...the bullet pierced her skull right between her brows.

" W..."

Finally, the man turned to face her walking towards her as she fell down heavily.

"Gotcha!" behind the scene, a man sneered releasing his finger from the trigger of the quietest sniper rifle, "God Damn it! She was lucky."

A throbbing pain engulfed Mei-Xing. Her vision blurred with a blood-red fluid before she could clearly see the man's features her soul left the body. She fell on the wet ground with a thump!

...

In City Hospital,

A black Maybach with a high speed entered through the emergency entrance. Everything was prepared beforehand, an expert team of Doctors awaits for the victim. A specialist nurse cautiously handled the subject while another one simultaneously making a report of the patient's condition.

First Floor,

Outside the emergency ward, a man stared at the huge, white doors that were shut close and at the marked red lights above his head, his face turned pale with fright.

If something happens to her...No!

Inside the operation theatre, Li Na's almost lifeless body lay on the operating table as the Doctor's team was working their best to save her life. She had lost a lot of blood.

Beep.....!

Being warned, the doctor's tried to restrain as the waving lifeline on the patient's monitoring system moderately stretched flat.

Profusely sweating, Doctor's attempted to revive the wave but missed.

In the frightful silent ward, only the endless and eternal beep could be heard.

beep....!

DEAD!

Declared the Head Doctor.

A nurse switched off the focusing light on the dead body while removing their gloves doctors turned to leave. At such moment, the dead body jolted up and slumped back as if struck by lighting. The patient's monitoring system gained a distinct beeping sound as the patient's lifeline began to wobble. Astonished by hearing the pulse rate, everyone turned and hurriedly got back.

~Sigh~

"Second Master," bowing her head deeply a lady in her late twenties greeted the young man.

The man turned around as he asked coldly, "How did this happen?" his voice as freezing as his appearance.

Instantly, Manager's expression changed, she didn't dare to delay to justify anymore, " After the party, I dropped her to the Villa. She forgot her cellphone on the backseat. When I reached the residence no one was there. I knock the room's door before entering the door was slightly opened I saw her back and-and she was holding the gun pointing on her temples. I ran fastly to snatch the gun. she fought back..." the manager felt a huge lump in her throat as the tears flooded. She covered the sniffling face filled with sorrow.

Suicide!

What was she thinking? Does she really wants to die that badly!

"I-I pulled the gun forcefully and she fell hard. Her head slammed loudly...then blood spilled... everywhere, " the lady slumped on her knees crying and blaming herself profusely.

Lu Junhui waved his hand for the bodyguard to take away the kneeling woman.

Taking deep breaths, Lu Junhui wiped off the sweat from his brow as he presses a few buttons on his phone to make a call.

"This is nonsense! Stupid Girl! I have to inform, Brother."
