Chapter 140 - Exquisitely For You

Stunned by his hospitable words, Li Na astonishingly stares at him, unable to understand the odd way his stony heart and sharp mind could function apart from getting pŀėȧsurė and contentment in making her feel bitter and exhaust every time they spoke.

"I highly doubt that," she commented unpretentiously and shifted to look at the people working behind the glass wall, just to avoid getting aggravated at his smugness.

"You must have some other motives behind it than doing so out of your kindness for me," she muttered wrathfully.

Amused by her just partially accurate speculation, Lu Jianjun's lips curled up, "I feel very unlikely to mention it but I think this is what I'm beginning to admire in you," tilting his head to sides, Lu Jianjun then keenly studied her side-face and said thoughtfully." You seem to realize the underline meaning that I never say,"

With furrowed brows, she turned to appallingly stare at him and said tartly, " To realize things you never say...that's because I know how shallow of a person you're, " feeling somehow peeved by his commendation she frowned, " As terrible for me though, I think I'll deeply feel offended to possess such quality that is explicitly reserved for you."

Lu Jianjun grinned in perplexity as he watched her resentment and hostility intensified against him. Though somewhere inwardly he wondered why is he finding it difficult to keep the same feeling running for Li Na which for the prior years spurred him to keep the wide distances between them and suddenly he felt powerless to hold onto those repulsive and cynical disturbances he had imbued over the time.

Lu Jianjun silently gazed at the girl's side profile immersed into deep pondering though she was full-fledgingly snubbing his presence he realized the unresolved storm that was brewing in those brilliant eyes and he knew she will seek the numerous ways other than simply asking his help.

"Let's go! I'll take you to meet Guo Jie after that you'll tell me how, and what all happened with you yesterday, Deal?" he asked suddenly his eyes cramming through the growing tiredness on her feature which possibly is the cause for the exertion and her vexation state.

Astounded by the offer and instigated by the condition along with it, Li Na glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. He was ogling at her all this while but the moment she turned towards him his gaze dropped and with extreme concern, his dark eyes began to scan the paper sheet she had grudgingly shoved at him.

"No!" she spoke plainly, "I told you everything that happened I have nothing else to share, so hold your deal to yourself." her eyes averted back to follow the social unrest behind the glass, but something held her attention with the person next to her.

"But I know Miss, there is something more,"

She could look at the shimmer of wit in his eyes, inflated she twisted around to face. "You're only ȧssuming that," she refused flatly.

He frowned, looking visibly discouraged by her defiances. "You won't be able to hide it for long...and also,"

"You shouldn't doubt me because..." He slowly said and looked up to her, his sights flickered vividly as he spoke intently, " You notice I too seem to realize the things you never say,"

"Yeah, why not! That's the only straw coupling us," Li Na snorted despondently showing as if she felt too overwhelmed by his exasperating replies but inwardly she was cursing him to hell. This man has probably taken a vow to provoke her until the cessation of her dėsɨrė to live vanished so that he can live happily but she too avowed that even if she dies of extreme fury, she will come back as a ghost and haunt him to his death.

"Your guess is as good as mine, but don't run like the wind," Lu Jianjun said after a pause.

" You're aware of the fact that you had an ȧssociation with Guo Jie only because Guo Jie provided you some specialty drugs composed for your intricate and rare chronic condition. Are you sure you don't want to make the deal?"

Some specialty drugs are not commonly used but are explicitly made and delivered. That foul woman hasn't just entered into Li NA's life, there must be people involved from both sides.

The first side, who are producing these drugs for her and secondly on whose command it was been organized. Is it Li Na's choosing herself or there is someone else!?

Li Na thoughtfully looks up to the man, obvious suspicion and distrust evidently clear in her gaze. Guo Jie is of no particular use in finding the trail because these things are carried out very privately with hidden faces and places, but perhaps she could act with Guo Jie's contact to investigate through the potential drug network.

She thought as her resolve to ignore the man wavered for the time being, but she felt importantly wary to share the details of her horrendous experience with him she can't comprehend what purpose it will serve him to know all that.

Taking a deep breath, Li Na replied thickly, "Alright!"

"Are you tired?" he asked thoughtfully, she frowned and blurred altogether, becoming more irritated by little things he says or does, "No, we just arrived half an hour ago, why would I feel tired? You must be...but not me." then she turned to walk, her step heavy but determined.

He stared at the girl but didn't utter a word again.

.....

Racing through the dense flock of trees on the empty road, crossing a small creek, he pulled the car off-road in a narrow pathway and then taking a few turns that lead to a large road ahead, Li Na was observing the road closely but then the car stopped suddenly. Stretching her neck a little Li Na tried to glance at the man outside the driving window conversing with Lu Jianjun. She ȧssumed they had entered into separate land entity and the man was a surveillance guard.

She can't see the faces as Lu Jianjun had rolled down his car window and handed over a black card before muttering a few words. The man lowly asked something to which Lu Jianjun seems a bit hesitant as he turned to look in her direction. The earlier weariness has vanished as perplexingly curious expressions have fueled her appearance but he spotted the unerringly hazy look in her eyes. He looked at her for another moment then swung around and commanded something in low voice.

It wasn't a minute's time, when the guy on the other side returned the black card along with it there was a hand size, a packet of something inside. Lu Jianjun grabbed it and put it in the middle of the dashboard and continued to focus on driving.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'s-mysterious-love._13271529106326605/exquisitely-for-you_52483293823696445 for visiting.

Looking disturbed and somewhat inquisitive, from the corners of her eyes Li Na glanced at that packet, and then she quietly studied the man beside her. Appearing subdued Lu Jianjun didn't meet her curious gaze, she noticed he had been like this since they got into the car. He stayed peculiarly quiet and preoccupied. She wasn't bothered by his reticence as it was a lot more enduring than his thriller spurring interrogations but now she coveted to converse.

"Lu Jianjun?" she called out absent-mindedly, as if ȧssessing his attitude if he would answer or prefer to ignore her. But he hummed softly his focus on ahead and only then she ventured to ask. "What is in that packet?"

Lu Jianjun smiled at the inquiry and gaped the curiosity of the questioner, and then looked unsurely at the innocently staring woman. His smile dropped and a distraught look marred his feature but that too vanished quickly as he replied sardonically, " A custom!"

A custom? Why and For what? Li Na thought keenly, and then her eyes widened a bit, as it strikes her, What kind of custom it might be? she knew the place they're visiting will not be normal, and most abnormal places have abnormal customs of commandments. "For whom?" she demanded despondently.

Lu Jianjun leisurely grinned at the despairing tone and knew the moment he would tell her the truth she will bristle with sweeping anger.

"Whatever it is... I hope it's has nothing to do..." she queried in haste and his one look told her it is exactly the opposite.

"Exquisitely for you," he said fondly, and her jaw clenched tightly as he saw the fury roaring in her splendid eyes, and then the car slowed and took a sharp right turn. They entered into a narrow road that didn't appear to lead anywhere, and before she could utter her suspicion the car came to an abrupt halt. Li Na cursed him heavily as she saw him unbuckled the seatbelt and then tore the packet.
