....

As the duo walked down the stairs, the people in the hall room widened their eyes to grasp at the adorable child and the beautiful mother. Along with socks and comfy light shoes. Li Na had made Little Tiger wear a knitted beanie cap covering his ears and a bit of high forehead, and to protect his throat she'd wrapped a muffler around his neck in a stylish knot. And small gloves leaving his finger bare with warmth and protection covering his palms.

Something mildly pleased little Tiger to know he could accommodate so many clothing articles, she'd truly wrapped him from head to toe, leaving no room for air to send a chill. The outside weather was rainy today and Little Tiger felt all cozy today.

Li Na had not taken Little Tiger in her arm instead she held his hand warmly while they climbed downstairs with patience as Little Tiger was slow with his legs. Seeing this, Madam Lu frowned visibly displeased as she muttered something under her breath about Li Na's negligence. Little Tiger has just gotten better from fever and this woman was already made him do the laborious work of walking so many staircases.

"I'll go get him," Madam Lu said to her husband wryly. Master Lu couldn't stop his wife. When they neared the last two steps, Madam Lu went forward and as she went near Little Tiger, she stretched her arms to lift the tired boy in her embrace.

Just when Madam Lu went to grab Little Tiger's arms, he shrank his shoulders and arms going behind Li Na to take cover not wanting to leave her. This action made Madam Lu highly embarrassed and she wondered what went wrong, Little Tiger'd never ignored her like this always been an obedient child. Lu Jianjun had taught him to respect elders, is someone was teaching him against it? Straightening her back, Madam Lu skeptically looked at Li Na.

Perplexed, Li Na look down on him and asked, "What's wrong, Little Tiger? You can go with Grandma!"

What if he wants to and someone doesn't allow it. Madam Lu thought and hopefully gaze at the kid who was shaking his head while clinging on to Li Na.

Sensing the atmosphere with Little Tiger is becoming intense Lu Jun-hui stepped in to intervene to ease his mother. She is a short-tempered woman once she began to dislike someone she will hate that person to his or her death and vice-versa with her liking and love. There is no redemption and they don't want this to turn more awkward for her.

"Mother, have you forgotten this child of yours, you promised to give me your opinion as you wanted to see the new renovation I did in my house" Lu Jun-hui smoothly said and came to stand beside his mother.

Gently, placing an arm on his mother's shoulder, Lu Jun-hui said in a child-like voice to her."Come, pick me up in your arms and take me home, Mama!" he then looked down meeting the little one's wide chocolate eyes and winked with a crooked smile.

In a playful tone, Lu Jun-hui acted to be scolding Little Tiger and said with a smug look. "What are you looking at us? You think my mother can't lift me. You stand there and watch us! Ocuh...!" Madam Lu had smacked Lu Jun-hui's face though it wasn't a tight slap but was enough to convey her message as never to scold Little Tiger. She loved the boy more than anything else and doesn't tolerate even her children being messy with him.

"You careless brat! Stop fussing, I can't lift a donkey like you even if I want to..." Lu Jun-hui being dramatic covered his slapped cheek and murmured, "I wasn't fussing, Mother!"

Seeing Little Tiger grinned to see his uncle mocking turned back to bite him. Who he was to flaunt his mother when he has the most loving one by his sides. He looked up to see Li Na's dumbfounded face. Probably, she's getting it tough to be around strangers just like him, Little Tiger thought and tugged at her holding hand and then dragged her towards the kitchen. Whereas Lu Jun-hui took Madam Lu and Master Lu to his West Wing and Bai Tian followed them.

She walked into the kitchen and looked around thinking, then she placed Little Tiger at the table near the kitchen platter. The boy felt the distance between the stove and him was too much that he won't be able to see the cooking food but his lady mother was satisfied with his safe position where he won't get uncomfortable so he didn't complain.

As the maid helped Li Na in tying the apron she usually took glances at the boy present in the kitchen, his presence only made the other working maids cautious of him, he might be a peaceful and quiet looking child but only they know the havoc he creates when he went bad as they have to clear that mess. After helping Li Na the maids choose to do the other job which doesn't require them in the kitchen leaving the duo alone. Li Na didn't like the aversion Little Tiger gets from other women she knew it was because of the boy but is it good for his mental growth. He can't ignore ladies forever. She brushed it off for now and moved.

As for what to cook, she was left with limited choices cause Little Tiger had a strict diet of his own where there are many exceptions for his bodily condition so she stick to Little Tiger's nutritionist advice. She would have to talk to his nutritionist before she opt to make any major changes in food. Li Na went to the refrigerator getting the vegetable to the washbasin to clean as she was thinking, she turned to look back at Little Tiger and saw his somber face. "You're good?" she asked and he gave her a thumbs up. She smiled but she was worried he would be able to sit there long enough.

"Little Tiger, why don't you take some rest? I'll be done in half an hour and then we can eat together," she asked and took the wash vegetable to cut when she looked up to see his reaction. Little Tiger shook his head in silence, "or you can spend some time with Grandpa..."

The dejection on his face was evident and hurt growing into full view in his big eyes so she stopped mid-sentence. Suddenly it feels like she was pushing him away when that's never possible. "Nevermind, but tell him if you get bored or tired." she smiled as her tone was much softer which immediately rectify his mood and he smiled back nodding his head.

The half an hour flew by in a moment where the dishes were still in the process of cooking, Li Na didn't forget the little one's presence but he was extraordinarily calm and quiet as if not present in the kitchen so she would occasionally glance at him to see whether he has fallen asleep and would talk to him but he was too inattentive to reply her every time. His entire one-minded focus was on her work. He was amazed to see her do so many tasks up close just to prepare a one-time meal. She'd washed vegetables, cut them precisely, combining ingredients, applying heat which includes, boiling, sauteing, grilling, steaming, and what more he flinched whenever she would hold the knife or do something with the burning stove utensils, and while doing all work she would look at him and talk. What if she cut her skin or burn, it would pain a lot. So he wouldn't talk and focused to look at her moving hands to watch her out.

It was only when she switched the stove off and called out the maids and ordered them to get the dishes served on the plate and get them on the dinner ready, Little Tiger breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't know cooking involves so much risk. After washing her hands and removing the apron, Li Na went near Little Tiger, the boy immediately stretched out his arms to her, when she picked him up he embraced her tightly as if she has come back to him after fighting a bloody war. And he couldn't be more grateful to be able to hold her away from those dancing fire flames of the stove and sharp knife.

Li Na was startled by the sudden action of Little Tiger. He almost suffocated her then she felt his tensed body relaxed in her arms. In particular, seeing his unwavering face and silence has got her worried so she called the maids to do the remaining job of serving the food. Realizing he's not happy to be in the kitchen and needs some rest.

"What's wrong, baby? Are you tired?" She asks while walking out of the kitchen room, Little Tiger's eyes were glued on the burning stove behind her as the horror of its working replayed in his mind. He instantly snapped back to hear her worried voice for him and shook his head before burying it in her shoulders. It was good that they're out of the kitchen now. She was too much loved by him, to let go and he'd got his mother after many struggles, how could he not cherish her.

"Mama," he tried to call out. His voice was barely audible.

Li Na froze on the spot, holding him. As if she'd heard it wrong, Li Na asked. "Did you just whisper something!?" she looked at him and the bashful boy instantly nodded. His face heated and turned red, he wasn't sure it was fine with her. In the past, Li Na hated hearing it from him.

"Say it again,"

Little Tiger smiled, he tilted his head to the side as he said, "Thanchu, Mama!"

Li Na's heart skipped several heartbeats, looking at the way he tilts his head to the side as he says "Thanchu, mama!" the words reverberate in her head like a melody. He'd called her Mama.. She stared hard at him for moments, then she hugged him tightly and showered kisses all over him as the boy giggled, pure joy bursting in him.
