370 7.98 It's About Time To Upgrade Those Gems Now

"Robin, these Legendary pieces that you had created are simply wonderful and each had a minimum of +250 armour, +15% to all attributes and +10% to all resistance of enemies' magic."

"The only Epic pieces left that would need your least attention would be the arm guards, the wrist guards and shin guards and once you are free and available, you would be able to turn then from Epic to Legendary, right?" Stef asked as she twiddles her fingers in the new gloves that she wore.

"Yeah, Boss... With the added 9 Legendary pieces, we have a total of +2,250-3,500 armour, more than a 100% addition to all the attributes and also more than a 100% addition to all enemies magical resistance."

"Yeah, silly boy... We haven't socket the new gems into these Legendary pieces yet and wondered how much it would jump for all the stats across the board."

"When would you be doing the new set of gems, Boss? It seems that it has been some time since you intend to make the fair ones and then the good ones too."

"Sigh...I don't really have the time before and right now I might be able to turn all the shards to poor quality ones first. I know it has been some time and had been delaying the process for like 2 months now."

First up, Will.I.Am had successfully harvest Stanspar 2058 shards per day over a period of time and I'm going to turn that to gems in the fusion chamber. He had collected over 50,000 shards and that would make a neat 10k Stanspar gems that would prove useful to be inserted into all the accessories soon.

There are over 1050 poor quality rubies and emeralds, 1158 poor quality sapphires and 1000 poor quality diamonds. It's now time for me to work in the fusion chamber and fuse these each 5 poor quality gems to make 1 fair quality gems.

When I enter my meditative state and emerged at the Realm of Mind of the Fusion Chamber, I placed 210 pieces of poor quality ruby gems in each slot and closed the door and pushed the slider to FUSE / GEMS and I cranked the lever.

*DING* Fusion Success. 210 nos of Fair Quality Ruby acquired.

Next, are the poor quality emeralds and I put 210 equal number of the gems into every 5 slots, closed the door and cranked the lever

*DING* Fusion Success. 210 nos of Fair Quality Emerald acquired.

I took 1150 poor quality sapphires next and pray that it would be turned to Fair ones after this and I placed 230 pieces each in the 5 slots, closed the door and cranked the lever.

It took longer than usual and I anticipated that it would go fine since I had achieved 100% success rates in crafting these types of gems.

*DING* Fusion Success. 230 nos of Fair Quality Sapphire acquired.

Last but not least, I held the pouch of 1000 poor quality diamonds in my hands and I prayed... "Let this be turned to Fair ones." and I placed 200 equal number of these poor quality diamonds into each of the 5 slots, closed the door and cranked the lever.

The wait was like an eternity... Almost 3 minutes of waiting anxiously as I stared at the Fusion Chamber, crossing my fingers, eyes and feet and prayed for the best.

*DING* Fusion Success. 200 nos of Fair Quality Diamonds acquired.

"Woohoo...Success...!!! We finally have the Fair Quality Gems and we could at least be heading somewhere." I shouted in ecstasy as I logged off from my meditative state and entered the real world.

"Here guys, take a look at the Fair Quality gems that had been fused together from the Poor Quality ones. Its glimmer is much better and I am sure it would be useful for our band." I handed the 4 pouches of the recently fused Fair Quality gems for their inspection.

"Matilda and JL, take 150 pieces of each gem and help to socket each member with a piece of Ruby, sapphire, emerald and diamond. I need to go to Leeds and see if I could something with the Stanspar at the Gemsmith or not."

"Yes Boss, there's be a balance of these gems, I pass it to Matilda for safekeeping then."

"Yes, silly boy. Don't go out too long. Why do you need to go to the Gemsmith for? Is there something wrong with the Stanspar?"

"No, granny's little cutie pie. I have 10k Stanspar gems and see if there is a need for the Gemsmith or not because these gems would be an added advantage to the adventurers and not just us."

"Yes, Robin. Stanspar gems are widely sought after, see what you could do with those. Do you want me to tag along with you?"

"Sure, Stef. Matilda and JL have a task here and they would be busy distributing the gems accordingly. Come, let's go..."

....

"Good evening, kind Gemsmith. May I know the value of these gems?" I greeted the Gemsmith and I handed her a piece of Stanspar gem that had been fused recently.

"Good evening, young adventure. May I take a look at the piece first?" the Gemsmith replied and removed her monocle over her eye and sat up as I produced the gem to her.

"Hmm, a very good piece of Gem you have here, Young adventurer. It could fetch 15 shillings each for this Stanspar gem. Only those who know how to manipulate its uses would find this gem useful to them, like your Mage friend here."

The Gemsmith replied as she returned me the piece. It is not that I want to sell it for profit by i wanted to see if any good would come for its exchange.

"So you sell shards for Ruby, emeralds, sapphires and diamonds and how much do you sell them for?" I asked and apologises if we are intruding into her business.

"It's alright, young adventurer. Information is free though. We do not sell shards of any of those, but we normally do buy from adventurers from time to time. Ruby and emerald shards would be bought for 3 shillings each, sapphires would be at 5 shillings and diamond would be bought at 8 shillings."

"A poor quality rudy, emerald, sapphire and diamond costs 3, 3, 10 and 25 gold coins respectively."

"Don't you want to sell those Stanspar gems, my young adventurer? It's 15 shillings per gem and if you happen to have a few pieces with you, I'm glad to buy all from you."

The Gemsmith offered a price of 15 shillings per Stanspar gem and I find it I could fetch 1 gold each if I inserted into the sockets of the accessories the adventurer buys from us. A bracelet itself could socket 5 gems and it has a street value of 5 gold coins.

"By the way, one last question before we make our way, how much do you charge for the fusion of these gems?"

"Oh, we charge 1 gold coin for the poor quality Ruby and emerald, 3 gold coins for the sapphire and 10 gold coins for the diamond. Would there be any more queries, my dear friend?"

"Thank you so much for your offer. I just need to know the price of the shards that you're offering. We'd be taking our leave right now, thank you again and have a nice day, kind Gemsmith."

I bade adieu and we went to the tavern and had ale and dumpling each and just being alone together for Stef... Makes it kind of awkward for me.

"Waaahhh... Fusing also can make money...!!! No wonder these merchants are so fat except for the Peddler and the Tavern Manageress... Hahahahaha."

"So what do you want to do now, Robin. You have more than 10k pieces of Stanspar and you're not selling them. We are short of gems right now and the cost that Gemsmith sells are quite expensive."

"Ah...I've got an idea... Hang on." I replied as I open up the interface and appoint a broadcast message that reads, "WTB. Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire and Diamond shards. 5 shillings for Ruby and emerald, 8 shillings for sapphire and 10 shillings for diamond. Robyn of The Vagabonds." and I sent it to the friends' list and ask them to Cc to their friends as well in their list.

Within a few minutes I received a few notifications at first and then within 30 minutes, I had received over 500 messages, each selling a few pieces of shards and wanting to earn a quick buck.

The new interface had a system upgrade and atrade comm link could be made with anyone anywhere within England, but not Wales or Scotland.

"Cool, we now can make an exchange even without leaving this place. I've gotten some responses from the broadcast that I had delivered earlier and now people are selling their shards to me."

"How much are you offering to them? Definitely not lower than the Gemsmith that offers right?"

"Don't worry, they learned of the pricing and I offer 5, 8 and 10 shillings for Ruby, emerald, sapphires and diamond. No one wants to spend extra money on fusing and what we are going to do now is to buy as many shards as we possibly can."

"Hang on, let me settle these transactions first before we head back. Don't want then to think about why we were gone for so long."

I quickly scanned all the notifications one by one and open a trade commlink with them and starts paying based on the base price that I had mentioned. After I had gone through 15 minutes, I managed to amass the following shards: 1234 rubies, 1768 emeralds, 1002 sapphires and 972 diamonds and I had financed 32,746 shillings all within 15 minutes.

We went back to the Camp where I made another investment of the shards at 965 Ruby, 799 emeralds, 723 sapphires and 456 diamonds before the notification had gone quiet for the night and I closed the future notifications and ended the trade.

This time I had capitalized another 19,164 shillings and had made me poorer and had only 4 figures left in both my gold and silver reserves.

But I've got a whole lot of shards that I could turn them into poor quality gems and then to fair quality ones later tonight.

..........

"Hello, Young adventurers... May we learn who is the leader of the band?" a man at arms chaperoned by another two flanking him emerged from the direction of Leeds as they arrived Camp Salvation.
