338 7.66 Knowledge On Gems And A Concept Of A New Shield 'sBadge's

Earlier, before we left Leeds, I had bought a set of those wooden accessories that would be turned into steel ones. Instead of buying lots of accessories to be placed inside the slot, the multiplier inside the fusion chamber can be replaced with multiple steel plates instead.

The process is the same and it is reversible and I could just put as many steel plates as I want and it could be fused and automatically deposited into my storage bag.

I placed 20 pieces of Refined Steel plate inside the fusion chamber and a single piece of wooden accessories and pulled the lever to CREATE / MULTIPLE / ACCS and at the end of every session, I had made the following:

Epic Steel 1 socket Earring 1440 pcs

Epic Steel 1 socket Rings 960 pcs

Epic Steel 3 socket Amulets 720 pcs

Epic Steel 5 socket Bracelets 720 pcs

Epic Steel 5 socket Anklets 720 pcs

My gem success rates are all at 100% success rates and now it's fine for me to churn out the poor quality gems first. I checked my inventory and find that I had more than enough to make the required fans and proceeded to make a total number of 500 poor quality gems across the board

After making the poor quality ruby and emerald, I moved on to sapphire and heard the announcement.

*DING* Fusion Success. 1 nos Poor Quality Sapphire Attained.

I dumped in 50 shards per slot and made 10 poor quality sapphire and once I had made 500 of those poor quality ones, I moved to diamonds.

*DING* Fusion Success. 1 nos Poor Quality Diamond Attained.

Without further ado, I made another 499 batches of poor quality diamonds. Now we have a choice of 5 types of gems that can be socketed, in their weapons, armour or even accessories and each one has their own characteristics and attributes.

For the poor quality Rubies, Emeralds, Sapphires and Diamonds, they would cost 3, 3, 10 and 25 gold coins respectively to purchase from us. These are way cheaper than the ones sold by the merchants at 10, 10, 25 and 40 gold coins respectively.

The adventurers now have a choice to buy these poor quality gems while the Stanspar remains to be socketed just for the accessories unless on special request.

I headed back to the real world and announced to the guys of what I did and showed them the poor quality gems to them. It would be a start for the upcoming sales, along with the pills and accessories.

"In the end, we all end up as traders rather than adventurers. Hoo Hoo Hoo... You had done a great job, Boss and you had finally managed to turn these sapphires and diamonds to gems successfully."

"Here, Stef... Could you tell us what these ruby, emeralds, sapphires and diamonds are for? As a mage like you I am sure you would be able to tell us in details on each of these gems are used for.

"Rubies are red in colour and grant bonuses that are related to their colour. The red in Rubies signify the Elemental power of Fire. Socketing a ruby in Weaponry adds Fire damage, while Shields earn Fire resistance, and Body Armor it increases life."

"Weapons: Adds +8 Fire Damage, Shields: Adds +16% Resistance to Fire, Body Armor: Adds +17 to Maximum Life."

"Emeralds grant bonuses that are related to their colour. The green in Emeralds signifies the Elemental power of Poison and Pestilence. In Weapons and Shields, it adds bonuses related to Poison and in Armor, it adds an increase to Dexterity."

"Weapons: Adds +20 Poison Damage, Shields: Adds +16% to Resistance to Poison, Body Armor: Adds +4 to Dexterity"

"Sapphires are gems, and they are dark blue. Sapphires give bonuses that are related to their colour. The Blue in Sapphires signifies the Elemental power of Cold. In Weapons and Shields, it adds bonuses related to cold, and in body armor, it increases mana, which is also associated with the colour blue."

"Weapons: Adds +5 Cold Damage, Shields: Adds +16% Resistance to Cold, Body Armor: Adds +17 to Maximum Mana"

"Placing diamonds in socketed shields is a very easy, yet very powerful way of adding resistance. While other gems give higher resistances to an individual source of damage, diamonds give easily the most total resistance. A perfect diamond gives +25% to all resistance, which is considerably more difficult to obtain."

"The Diamond has a different sprite for the 'normal' tier. It is diamond-shaped instead of the normal rectangular shape for the other 4 gems."

"Weapons: Adds to +34% Damage, Shields: Adds +8 to all Resistances, Body Armor: Adds +40 to Attack Rating"

"There you have it. It's quite a mouthful, am I right, Robin. Make sure you got it all down. This is based on the current attributes on these poor quality gems and the more fighter you go, the higher is the multiplier."

"How high would that be, Stef? We all are interested to know and would be adding it to our notes soon."

"Fair quality ones add a 1.25 multiplier, Good quality ones a 1.35 multiplier, Perfect quality ones is a 1.45 multiplier. So if you were talking about a poor quality ruby against a perfect quality one, the stats would be as follows."

"Weapons: Adds +20 Fire Damage, Shields: Adds +23% Resistance to Fire, Body Armor: Adds +42 to Maximum Life."

"This is based on a single piece of ruby and the percentage for resistance would go up higher than 100%. There is no limit. Based on this is someone sockets 10 pieces of ruby, his Fire Resistance would be +230% and he basically can walk through fire."

"Wowwwweeee...This is super good news for the adventurers. Boss, do you think you'd release the perfect ones soon?"

"Hahahaha...not so early, my friend. We would be churning out these poor ones and see how well the adventurers would be accepting them. Remember, to make a Fair one, I need 5 poor ones and to get a single good one, I need 5 fair ones or 25 poor ones or 125 shards."

"Wow, I never thought of that, Boss. Please accept my bluntness."

"No worries JL, ring leader doesn't take offences that easily and forgive everyone's mistakes, am I right, silly boy...?"

"*Ahem* based on my calculations that you need ne to make regarding the New Vagabonds Army or the NVA, (definitely sounds like the North Vietnamese Army) we would have a total of 3 captains under you, 12 lieutenants under us, 48 sergeants under the lieutenants, 576 soldiers under the Sergeant and that totals to 636 members of the NVA."

"So much Army personnel? This is way too much...WowWee Boss...!!! 636 members...when do you plan to start this recruitment plan of ours?!?"

"Soon, my friend. We still have 60 days left on this encampment. At the same time, we can begin to hit out the demons of the lower level first and see how we could do. At the meantime, Stef, please advice what we could so with these gems that we can socket them in our armour? We do not have a shield, so we would not have any resistance at all. What do you suggest?"

"Not to worry so much about the shield, it could be a badge that looks like a shield and can be pinned on our armour and that works fine as well. The only way is to make an embroidered shield and we could churn it into steel badges."

"Sirs, Ma'am...if I may interrupt. I had drawn and colour a coat of arms that you may use as our shield badge over your armour. This is the best I could do at this moment for the team, I do hope you like the designs, colour and motif."

Will.I.Am handed me a drawing he had made from a sketching pad which he had borrowed from Shippo complete with colours from his crayon set and passed to us. It was meant to be a full-sized shield but since Stef said it could be used as a school badge, we might be able to downsize it.

Everyone looked at the artwork and was delighted that Will.I.Am had taken his time to spend with Shippo to get his ideas on the types of motifs to use.

The shield itself has 2 colors, red and white, which are coloured in a wavy diagonal pattern. 4 red clovers on a white background and a white garden hoe on the red background serve as the emblem, or charge, and a small ribbon in black, positioned just below the shield, carries the motto, which reads: "Ready To Strike." in white bold lettering.
