193 5.82 Shippo Had Too Much Of Drink

We headed back to Kitakata Village after we had gathered our new companions. We were warmly welcomed by the outermost residents and we saw a lot of plots had already been marked out to make up for another 40 or more houses which would be able to accommodate 3 to 4 households in them.

The protective barrier that was set by Hoshi-sama had been extended right to the perimeter of the little town. The barrier that was made of the talisman was stretched out and it seems that Hoshi-sama would have an extra task to perform for this protective barrier.

The moment the youkai entered the protective barrier if the little town, they felt a sudden surge of energy coursing through their bodies that made them lose a significant amount of powers. Whether it is a non-combat or combatant youkai, the protective serves its purpose well.

The three youkai asked Hoshi-sama if the effect was permanent, however, the protective barriers were only meant to limit the strength of a youkai and could easily be overpowered by any militia. They understood since this was for the protection of the residents and dies not much harm to them, especially for Inuyasha. He seems a bit agitated for the sudden drop in his powers due to entering the little town which had a protective barrier around it.

We made our way through the district, while Kikyo, little Kaede and Inuyasha were surprised at the magnitude of the residential district. The mention of a village to them is rather inappropriate since Kitakata is considered as a booming little town already.

A plot of land alone could erect 3 houses with outdoor outhouses, a dirty kitchen and laundry area. For the newly registered immigrants to Kitakata, it was a blessing since their small settlement had nothing much to look for in the future.

Shippo and Hachi too were surprised on the development of the district and Hiko-sama explained to them on the clusters that made up if the residential districts. They could see the little town was divided up of different clusters to differentiates the standards of the housing and their standard means of living.

To this youkai, a simple shade under a tree could very well serve as a place for them to dwell and as long as there are no other threats of hostile youkai, they would be safe wherever they go. They had never stayed in a village bustling with people except for Inuyasha when his mother was still alive. After that, he shunned humans and lived in seclusion in the outskirts of Little Kaede's village.

"This little town is so big, its almost like a town back home in Tokyo...! We could do so much for these people around here and there's even a field that would have some herbs that could be made into medications for the common ailments..." remarked little Kaede as the wagon moved towards the 3rd residential district. She was excited that this place had many potentials and would be glad to service these people here.

"Yes, Kaede... Before entering this little town I could see rolling hills before that. You could gather up some herbs to practise in your skills. Furthermore, you can bring Shippo along with you."

Kikyo advises to little Kaede as we moved further in and before stopping at the grounds of Fasuto Japan KabushikiGaisha.

"What is this place? There are so many more people walking around the barns. I do not detect any livestock but I could smell something nice coming from these barns."

Inuyasha was literally sniffing the air and was delighted at what he had smelt. There were scents of flowers, fruits and others that he could not make it out and of course, he could smell pinaatsubata in one of the barns. Even though he was sceptical at first upon entering this little town, but after some time, he had found that it was to his liking.

The people here were friendlier and there's no fingerprinting at his dog ears that protruded on top of his head that could be clearly seen despite his thick and luscious whitish silver mane.

Upon reaching our garden, we dismounted and the rest disembarked. I called one of the guards to summon all the plant managers as well as the execom members to inform them that we have visitors here. The 'aunties' welcomed us and since we had travelled far and wide, they knew we were hungry and had reserved lunch as well as afternoon tea for us.

The 'aunties' served lunch for the 10 of us and they discovered that Shippo was rather cute and one of the 'aunties' pinched the latter's puffy cheeks. Lunch was pretty simple, it consisted of steam rice, quail eggs cooked in dark soya sauce with some potatoes in them, stir-fried mustard veggies and with generous helpings of Kerokke and Kushikatsu.

I reminded Inuyasha and Shippo not to fight over the foods especially the Kushikatsu and Inuyasha just grinned at me. The 5 of them had never seen such a spread in front of them and they were thinking that these food were fit for a noble. When Hiko-sama explained to them that this was being served to 600 or more employees on the ground, they were surprised at the generosity.

Normally what they would eat would be steamed rice and vegetables. It's more like a one-dish meal for them but the feast before them made them really wide-eyed. Sango and Kohaku told them this was what to be expected when they are employed under Fasuto Japan KabushikiGaisha and they would be having 6 meals a day, unlike 3 meals that normally people do.

"6 meals... ?! I am beginning to like this place already... Wow... I can't imagine anyone who could eat so much in a day...!" Shippo remarked as he ate a piece of Kushikatsu and shared it with Kirara that was practically leaning against Shippo and was purring in delight as bits of Kushikatsu was given to it.

"Hahaha... Its a breakdown of large meals into smaller portions. Like this lunch that we have, it's considered as lunch and afternoon tea together. Normally the cooks here would cook several menus for morning and afternoon tea while others assigned would be doing steamed rice, vegetables, fish and the like. Our meals here rotates so you would not get to meet the similar dishes in a long while."

"Himura here has a system where everyone writes what they would like to see on lunches and dinners while some participated in suggestions for morning and afternoon teas. Once the cooks had compiled the whole list, they would make out a weekly menu based on the types of meal they would like to have."

"Very interesting indeed. So the menu would keep changing then. And 600 employees, that's really an achievement and the task is very laborious to feed them. I guessed you have plenty of cooks, right?"

Kikyo asked in wonder at the amount of food to supply the workers lunch and dinner as well as morning, afternoon teas and supper as well.

The execom members came and were introduced to the new members of the family. A progress report was presented to Hiko-sama while we were out of town. The 6 plant managers also joined us and were delighted at the increased number of new family members. Everyone introduced themselves and Shippo was rather fond of Fei who was the 1st shift Plant Manager.

Lodging was quickly arranged for Kikyo and little Kaede, while Inuyasha prefers to remain at the terrace of the house that had been appointed for the former. Sango and Kohaku had their own place together with the rest of Youkai Taijiya on the outskirts of the little town.

Shippo shared the dwelling with Sango and Kohaku while Hachi went back with Hoshi-sama to the monastery. All their lodging had been appointed and little Kaede was quickly getting acquainted with Fei as the latter was a herbalist before she joined Fasuto Japan KabushikiGaisha.

They shared the types of herbs and gathered information as much as possible for the available herbs and sages that could be found in abundance around the little town.

After everyone's dwelling had been allocated, they gathered back for some supper in the evening. We sat at the long meal table that the employees were sitting to have their daily meals and the Plant Managers joined us. We told them of our little adventure and also the Confrontation that we had with Hiten and Manten.

They were shocked at the brutality of the Thunder Brothers while sighing in relief as Shippo's father was successfully retrieved and given a proper burial. They had a look at Shippo's collection if toys as he explained to them the uses. He claimed that these were illusions to make the enemies felt that it was a trap and felt helpless if the items were placed in them.

Supper came and everyone had gyoza and the fillings consist of mashed potatoes, minced meat, chives, onions and spring onions with a dash of black pepper in them. It was a fried dumpling that everyone enjoyed as the newcomers had first tasted such dessert.

Everything else in the production all was clockwork and there were no hiccups along the way. The Plant Managers brought the newcomers around in each warehouse and explained the process and the purpose for each product. Inuyasha was fond of the Hae Shanpu and BodiRoshon and asked Kikyo to pick a few scents for her bath later on.

The Plant Managers were obliged to hand over a bottle of Hae Shanpu and BodiRoshon for Kikyo and little Kaede to use and a few choices of Karada soap to wash their faces and hands with it. Kikyo later asked me whether these products were imbued with spiritual energy and I didn't deny.

I explained to her that when the essences were being processed, I drop 2 psi healing energy spheres into them. This would make the Essences have a refreshing, invigorating and energizing effect when being used. It will also make someone immune to the taste of sake or yumeshu.

Kikyo was curious about the yumeshu and wanted to try while Sango wanted to join too. I ordered a few jars if sake from the brewery and it was sent later after everyone had their supper. As we talked and sipped the yumeshu, Shippo said he is also an adult and wanted to try the yumeshu. Inuyasha intervened saying that Shippo is still a child and shouldn't drink.

Out of mischief, Shippo placed a leaf on top of his head and shapeshifted to become Hachi and took a cup of yumeshu. We didn't realise it at first but when 'Hachi' began to get drunk after drinking 2 cups of yumeshu, we noticed the tail behind 'Hachi' looked very familiar.

Hiko-sama caught hold of 'Hachi' and 'POOF!', it changed to Shippo and was laughing and running about mischievously. Inuyasha who was nearby caught hold of Shippo and gave him a knuckle sandwich again on the latter's head!!

I watched the scene unfold and I can't help myself from laughing. I told Shippo to take a deep breathe in one of the Karada Soap that Kikyo was carrying and soon Shippo had felt the tipsiness subside as if he had not been drunk earlier.

"Hahahaha... Little kids shouldn't drink, you know. Now, even how much you drink, you won't even feel drunk or tipsy after drinking. Ask Miko-sama if you want to find out more, I just explained to her earlier."

So Kikyo explained about the healing properties in each of the product so that their cuts and bruises would be healed over time. Also, it has an effect that would make one feel very energised after using it and won't feel fatigued at all.

After hearing it, Shippo wanted to try it out as it interests him very much to the point that he had cut a small slice of Karada Soap for him to shower later on. I explained to him to be careful not to get the suds to enter his eyes as it will sting very much. He went to meet Fei on the grounds and asked if he could get several slices of the Karada Soap.

When he heard that we have a collection of 29 scents, it made him wild a bit and wanted to get everything as part of his collection. Fei allowed Shippo to get as much as he wants as there are a lot of scraps left behind in the moulding trays.
