282 Chapter 278.5 : : Books

Zakiya was shocked when she saw that Rex showed the characteristics only people from her clan shows, she was sure that he didn't have them before but after she gave just a few drops of her blood to him he changed but… was something like that even possible?

Normal blood aside even her blood essence shouldn't be able to do that much especially when he just took around 3-4 weeks to complete the transformation.

She had long noticed the unusual body of Rex, whether it was his muscles with a qualitative change, the organ responsible for Battle-Wings, Core bladder, and even the core inside it… after she had recovered her cultivation base to some extent and Rex came to meet her, she had seen everything.

But she suppressed her curiosity and decided to overlook it, if Rex himself didn't mention it then it was obvious he didn't want other's to know about it and it wasn't like she had told anything about herself to him so how could she ask something like that from him, as for forcing him she wanted him to become her disciple and had her own pride she won't force someone like him for apparently no enmity.

She overlooked it before but now things were different, the matter was related to her clan, someone gained the characteristics of people from her clan overnight, she didn't want to hold him accountable but wanted at least check what was happening.

She had heard of a few rare ancient races that could do something similar to what Rex did, so she took out the books that had the information regarding those ancient races.

Zakiya had a lot of books in her collection that she found on her adventures, from the clan or received from someone else but she didn't read even half all of them, if she had the time she would read the ones related to Arrays and Inscriptions because that would be more beneficial to her.

Not everyone is like Rex who could just scan a book and store it in his memory, although cultivators had strong memory that develops with their cultivation base but the content of these books wasn't simple either, in some cases the words on one page could hold much more knowledge than the biggest library on earth, the real content of the books was not in words.

One could only understand all that content after slowly comprehending the hidden meaning behind it, furthermore, the important the knowledge in a book is the harder it will be to comprehend it because the creator of the book made it like that, it's the creator's way of saying… if you don't even have the ability to comprehend it then you are not qualified to read it.

Zakiya unwrapped the three books in white silk cloth, all three books had a somewhat similar appearance, they were not too flashy but made of some kind of beast skin which was similar to that of leather in appearance.

Although the names weren't that domineering but the three books were something a powerhouse of the biggest Scholarly Faction in the Higher Realm wrote down after countless years of research, they weren't something one could buy with money alone, only a rare opportunity can let obtain one, off course Zakiya didn't obtain the all three of them on her own but she was keeping someone else things in their place.

Zakiya put the other two books in her storage ring then opened the \u003cA Look At The Ancient Races: 1st Edition\u003e, the book contained the information about the ancient creatures that got extinct over time and now mostly exist in stories.

The book had silvery-white pages but all of them were blank there wasn't a single word written on them, Zakiya wasn't bothered by it she placed her palm on the blank page and used a secret changed in her heart, the black page then absorbed the energy from her hand and a picture of a strange creature then appeared on the page.

The creature was short and bald, it's skin was of green color and it had pointed ears. If Rex saw it he would directly shout- a fukking Goblin, except for the thin long tail and the fact that they were wearing decent clothes made of animal skin unlike barbarians they looked exactly like a goblin.

The creature on the page was related to the races that could gain the ability of other races.

When Zakiya looked at the picture, the information related to the creature appeared in her head.

'Green Devil Race?' Zakiya muttered to herself.

According to the information she obtained from the book, the green devil race was a race with low intelligence people, the people from this race had strong breeding capabilities and low control over their sexual urges, to make it worse just like humans they were capable of breeding with most of the races, the resultant baby could possess the ability of its other race parent but would have a similar appearance to the people of green devil race.

The people of that time found this race quite annoying because they had very low control over their sexual urges they would even resort to force the people of other races and keep increasing their population, later they needed more space because of their big population and blindly attacked the territory of other races, in the end, other people finally weren't able to take it anymore and started to retaliate completely wiping them out of their territory… with the passage of time this race ceased to exist.

In a time where even the bad mood of someone could take other's life, how could others held back when some lust-driven race is using their people as breeding pods and knows nothing else to do except that.

Zakiya shook her head and changed the page, this time creature appeared was of pitch-black color, its whole body was of black color which was shining under the sun, for some reason Zakiya's favourability towards the creature increased in the next second.

The humanoid creature was big and tall, it's body was quite muscular, it had four pairs of arms and two pairs of dragonfly-like wings on its back, in the picture the creature opened its mouth, showing its razor-sharp teeth and long tongue like a lizard.

'Evil Spirit Race? I would love to take one as a pet if it hadn't been extinct… sigh,' Zakiya thought.

She was even imagining how would it look like if she would walk on the streets while holding the leash attached to the color of her obedient Evil Spirit Race pet.

According to the information she obtained from the book, the Evil Spirit Race was actually a fearsome race they were low in numbers but were intelligent, the most fearsome thing about them was their innate ability to gain others ability, the people from this race would eat a lot of people from the race whose ability they want to gain then would evolve like Spirit Beast's after they managed to eat enough targets, they will evolve then there is a chance that they would gain the abilities from their targets race.

Zakiya kept searching through the books but didn't find the one that looked just like humans or were variants of humans that had a similar ability to Rex.

Actually, there was one race that was similar to humans... At least compared to other races mentioned in the book this was most similar to humans in appearance. The people from that race had a humanoid body, they had a pair of eyes with a star pattern in their pupils, slightly pointed ears, as for their hands and legs they were just like humans in shape, except the star pattern in their pupils the other differences were that their skin was purple and they had sharp teeth.

The race was the Purple Star Devourer race, the people from that race would eat the flesh of the enemies they defeated, they were a battle loving race and believed that they become stronger by eating their enemy… in fact, the people from purple star devourer had a very small almost negligible chance to gain the ability of the person they had eaten, it may be a physique ability, innate ability or even bloodline ability.

Zakiya didn't think that Rex was of that race because his features and behaviors didn't match to the people of that race, the people of that race were so battle loving that if they get the chance they will not sleep with their lover but battle with them to show their love.

Zakiya sighed she closed the book and put it inside she then took out a big black wine bottle and a glass, she then poured the blood-red wine in her glass, placed the bottle on the table, and leaned back on her chair as she took a sip.

'This brat is full of trouble,' She thought while enjoying the refreshing feeling from the wine and the bitter-sweet after taste embracing her tongue.

She believed it was better to ask him directly.
