48 Gerhardt's introduciton

After all of the gift bags had been opened the students seemed much more comfortable talking to each other.

"Alright everyone, I have another surprise now so I'll go get it," Ensen said.

"Oh is it the cake?" Warren asked in curiosity.

'I said it was a surprise! Well only two of them haven't seen the cake though.' Ensen thought in defeat.

"That's right, I just need to get it from a fridge so I'll be right back." He said in a defeated tone.

Slowly walking towards the teacher's lounge, Ensen hummed softly in happiness as he opened the door.

As Ensen walked in, he noticed a tear in space in the center of the room.

'Oh, look's like Gerhardt is here. I can't wait for the students to meet him. I just hope they won't want to dye their hair purple like his hair is.' Ensen thought in excitement.

Walking up a little closer towards the crack in space, Ensen stopped a few feet away and watched as Gerhardt began to gradually appear.

A few moments later as he began to regain control of his body, he began to open his eyes.

Unlike when they first met, Gerhardt was wearing a casual outfit although it would still be considered formal by the standards of this world.

He wore a clean white wool shirt with what seemed similar to a black blazer overtop. While the clothing itself was not too peculiar, there was an odd vibe around it that gave off an indescribable aura.

Clueless as to what the reason of the aura would be, Ensen purged the thought from his mind for the moment. After all, his students were waiting for the cake and you don't mess with cake.

As he slowly opened his eyes, he was taken aback for a moment at Ensen already being there to welcome him.

"Greetings Sir. I'm sorry I'm a little late, there were some matters I had to attend to." Gerhardt said in his usual elegant vocabulary.

"No it's fine, it would be a great time to introduce you now. Also please call me by my last name or just principal from now on so the students don't feel something is wrong." Ensen said after considering for a moment.

"I understand, principal," Gerhardt said calmly.

Waiting for a second, Ensen began speaking as he was walking to the nearby fridge "Alright we should go now. Let me just grab the cake."

"Cake? Excuse me but I do not know what this cake you speak of is." Gerhardt said.

"Oh really? It's… hard to explain if you don't know the concept I guess. Well, we will have some soon so you'll understand." Ensen said, unsure how to properly explain it.

After a word of understanding, Gerhardt stood in place with his back straight and his arms neatly by his side.

'Wow that is amazing posture, I am jealous.' Ensen thought to himself.

After grabbing the cake they began to make their way to the cafeteria.

Once they entered the cafeteria Ensen noticed that his students were all talking to each other to pass the time. Except for Anabella of course, but she was listening so Ensen took that as a win.

As the students realized that their principal had returned, they realized that there was somebody strange following behind him.

Although the students knew that they shouldn't judge people on their appearance, he was simply too odd for them not to have a reaction.

After all, a man who looked around 60 years old with bright purple hair was not something that was seen every day, at least for the students.

There was also a generally mysterious vibe that they could feel even from nearly halfway across the room.

As they saw the man approaching them, the conversations slowly fell silent.

After a moment, Ensen stood in front of them and used his hand to gesture towards Gerhardt, although it was completely unnecessary as everybody was staring at him.

"This will be your English teacher, he just arrived from a long trip so please be easy on him. Would you like to introduce yourself, Gerhardt?" Ensen asked after a moment of thought.

"Very well. Greeting everybody, it is nice to meet you. My name is Gerhardt and I will be your English teacher from now on. If you ever need help don't hesitate to ask for help." Gerhardt said.

As all of the students lightly clapped, Warren couldn't hold himself back anybody and loudly said "I love your hair, it's so cool! I wanna dye mine now."

Mentally facepalming, Ensen thought to himself 'I knew this would happen. I should stop this though, dyeing your hair isn't a bad thing but they're not in a position to spend money on it.'

"Thank you for your compliment, however, I would much prefer to have a hair color similar to yours," Gerhardt said sincerely.

'Yes! You go, Gerhardt, tell them!' Ensen screamed in his mind.

"Alright, enough of that. Gerhardt is a very accomplished teacher so please do your best for his class. Anyways, have you guys forgot what I was getting?" Ensen said teasingly.

"Cake!" All of the students said in excitement.

Lightly laughing to himself, Ensen said "That's right. I'll cut everybody a piece now."

Looking at Gerhardt, Ensen noticed that he had a gentle smile as he looked at the students.

'Looks like I made the right choice.' Ensen thought.

As Ensen began to hand out the pieces of cake, something suddenly donned on him.

'I wonder who has had cake here? The siblings most likely but I'm not too sure about the students from the orphanage.' Ensen thought as he looked at his students who were currently savoring every bite.

All of his students were nearly shining in happiness after the events of today so far.

Taking a seat back down with Gerhardt seated on his right side, Ensen slowly cut a piece for both of them.

"You said you were curious, so here you go. I think you'll love it." He said generously as he began to dig into his own piece of cake.

Looking at the piece of cake in front of him doubtfully, Gerhardt mimicked how Ensen had taken a bite.

As he put his first-ever bite of cake in his mouth, Gerhardt's eyes shined in amazement as he quickly went back for another bite.

Not even a minute later, the plate that previously held a rather sizable slice of cake was nearly entirely cleaned off.

'Damn, are you sure he doesn't have the Competitive eating System?' Ensen thought.

As the students began to gradually finish their piece, they soon came back for seconds. Feeling generous, Ensen handed out more and more of the cake until it was completely eaten up.

It wasn't a large cake for seven people in the first place after all.

As everybody rested satisfied on their chairs, Ensen said "Alright, we will take a little break now and then we'll do a tour around the building. After that, it'll be the end of the opening day, and tomorrow's classes will start. Like I said on the phone to you guys earlier, classes will start here every weekday at 10 am and will end at different times depending on the classes for the day."

Getting up from his seat, Ensen slowly headed into the hallway to get a quick drink. As he was heading back his phone began to ring.

Looking at the ID, Ensen quickly realized that it was Emilia, his former boss calling.

Clearing his throat with a cough, Ensen picked up the phone and said "Hey Emilia, how have you been?"

"You sure sound happy. And the school's been a bit of a mess, to be honest, Can you believe the students protested yesterday to hire you back?" Emilia said in a defeated tone.

"What? No, that's crazy." Ensen said in shock.

"Your right it is crazy, mainly because it didn't happen. But we still haven't found a replacement for you yet so there's that." Emilia said with an amused tone.

"Wow Emilia, you really don't change," Ensen said, with a light laugh following.

"That's right. Anyways, why are you so happy?" Emilia asked.

"Oh, it's the opening day of my Academy and it's been amazing so far," Ensen said with a gentle smile on his face.

"Wait really? That's amazing! You should've invited me, I totally would've come to congratulate you. It's been so quick, you must've worked hard." Emilia said in surprise.

Although Ensen could try to hide the opening of his Academy from Emilia, there wasn't really any point in doing that. She could simply look up the opening date online when she eventually found out. It wasn't particularly a big deal either as Ensen had spent plenty of time making up plausible excuses on how he found such a great building.

Taking a moment to pause, Emilia continued "Well I should leave you to it then. I hope it keeps being great."

After saying goodbye they both hung up as Ensen returned to the room to begin the tour.
