Chapter 73 - Imperial Order

Rong Zian meant it, he didn't go anywhere and wanted everything to be perfect suddenly showing an overbearing CEO side of him that he never knew existed. The old man had got some help but due to his greed, he didn't over splurge on labour and watched Rong Zian work his ass off as though he was labourer, not a customer. Curious, he asked, "What girl has got you this in love that you had to spend a fortune on her?"

Rong Zian was carefully working on the Yan Yan characters with great care. Being disturbed he scowled and didn't look up while saying, "Not a girl."

The old man frowned at his words thinking, 'Young man a so brazen these days. Openly proposing to a married woman.'

"Is the woman that good in bed that you have to do all this," replied the old man with a judgemental tone.

"Not a woman either and he should be excellent in bed though I haven't tried it yet," he replied with a sullen face while moving on to another lantern.

The shop owner was flabbergasted and couldn't hold back, reprimanding Rong Zian as though he would return the money if the youth abandoned the idea. Not going to happen, he would never return it. "You are so brazen aren't you? Confessing to a man in such an audacious way. If it was my son, I would find you and castrate you on the street. Publicly bringing shame to an entire family, how selfish of you."

Rong Zian stopped his actions giving the nosy old man an icy power stare that had him shivering like a leaf. "I see you have nothing else to do with your time. If you are too bored to live then tell me so I can make arrangements. I am sure what I gave you is enough to get more people to assist otherwise if you don't deliver on time there will be hell to pay," he said in a domineering tone that sent the man flying recruiting more people. He had labelled Rong Zian a pushover judging from his face but that threat set him straight.

Highly determined to make his confession, Rong Zian worked till nightfall before going back to the mansion they were currently housed in. When he got back Wu Yange was still in deep sleep in the same position he left him in. He excitedly got on the bed and lay next to him beaming in anticipation. Wu Yange would be waking up tomorrow and he can finally make it official in a grand affair. From tomorrow the whole of Nuwang will know that Yan Yan is officially off the market. With that in mind, he fell asleep with an odd grin on his face.

By early morning a tail-wagging Rong Zian was gone leaving only a note for Wu Yange for when he woke up. He was running so fast that Ying Tie couldn't even catch his shadow. The brawny man wasn't so ignorant, he knew something was up but chose to distance himself from it neither did he have to worry about Rong Zian's safety. The guy was a demigod, whoever dared attack him must have big balls.

He was right, there was no need to worry about Rong Zian's safety but that doesn't mean someone wasn't brave enough to try or let's just say they were oblivious of whom they were dealing with. Rong Zian was finalising things with the old man when a group of mercenaries approached him dressed in blood-red amour, their faces stern enough to terrify a baby with one look.

A gorgeous woman disembarked from the carriage holding something Rong Zian was all too familiar with, an imperial order. This wasn't the first time he had received such a love letter aka imperial summons and could only assume it was from Empress Tao since this was her city. To be honest, he wasn't intimidated in the slightest but the old shop keeper was terrified as though he was the one being summoned. "My lady, I don't have anything to do with him please spare us!" wailed the cowardly old man shoving Rong Zian forward.

Rong Zian regretted doing business with such a rude old man. 'Fuck if this place had Baidu I would take a dump on his business with a shitty review,' he said giving the man a warning glare.

The woman smiled at the old man's words, "You misunderstand the purpose of my visit," she said opening the scroll as though here to present him with a winning lotto ticket. "By order of the righteous ruler of Nuwang, Empress Tao, I hereby immediately summon Rong Zian to the palace to meet with her majesty."

A smile spread across Rong Zian's face observing the Red Guard standing next to him and couldn't resist testing out the waters, "And if I refuse?"

The Red Guard placed their hands on the hilt of their swords as a warning but didn't immediately unsheathe their weapons. Just as he thought this wasn't optional if he was to refuse they would use force, not that he cared. They weren't even strong enough to restrain his pinkie finger but he thought of Wu Yange and decided to go with them willingly. This was his soon to be boyfriend's mother and it wouldn't hurt making a good first impression. He had plenty of time before the hour of reckoning so he gladly left with that is after instructing the old man to be punctual.

The ride to the palace was relatively short but it felt like an eternity as the woman's smile had vanquished replaced by a look of disdain which Rong Zian found hilarious. When did he offend this lady when they had just met and so he saw it fit to scorn her. "You look very ugly when you put on such a face," he said while thinking, 'you look like you just ate shit, not just the regular kind but diarrhoea kind,' while politely smiling at her. Insulted, the woman stopped looking at him but couldn't wait for the empress to beat the crap out of him.
