Chapter 73 - 72: Alchemy Test Part 1

"Then I thank you in advance Little Yan. This isn't necessarily a competition as all those who pass will be allowed into the guild but it's more of a contest of wits between old men. I didn't really care for this petty competition but since you showed up I had to drag you into this. Forgive me for this if you had wanted to wait till later you'd have to wait a couple of weeks so I believe it still aligns with your goal." said Xia Meng

"Indeed competition or not I was planning on joining. A couple of weeks earlier makes things easier." said Yan'er

"Then I'm glad." said Xia Meng

After waiting for an hour the rest of the participants had arrived. The participants consisted of 3 girls at around Yan'ers age and another 3 boys again at the same time. 2 of the girls were twins by the name of Shen Lin and Shen Min respectively. The other girl was named Yao Chunhua.

Among the boys the two were part of the same clan of alchemists known as the Yang Clan. Both their names where Yang Bai and Yang Chao. The last one was named Huang Fai.

"You see that Chunhua girls be careful of her she comes from the the Yao clan. They are respected for their clans power. Not necessarily their alchemy but cultivation strength. From what I heard she's almost immortal Emperor and she is at least a 3 Star immortal alchemist. The two Shen twins are really popular for there team work and even if this is a individual test that doesn't mean they are any worse by themselves.

On the boys side the Yang clan is a renowned Alchemy clan those two are the best of their age and most likely rival that Yao girl in alchemical strength. Lastly that kid from the Huang Clan is a mystery. From what I've heard from the rumors he's a genius but that's all I have about him." said Xia Meng as he explained the contestants

"Now that they've arrived the tests should be on there way so prepare yourself Little Yan." said Xia Meng as he patted Yun'ers shoulder

After explaining all the contestants and motivating Yan'er on last time the rest of the people quieted down.

"Now that everyone is here we would like to start the 88th Alchemist competitions. All contestants please get in to the glass dome." said the announcer

After saying that all the contestants including Yan'er went into the glass dome. Once in they stood in front of two tablets.

"All contestants starting from the left please places your hands on the left tablet. This will measure your bone age. This will also insure that you are not cheating." said the announcer

After saying that all the contestants one by one started placing their hands on the tablet. The first to go up was Yao Chunhua.

"Yao Chunhua age 16. Shen Min age 15 and 11 months. Shen Lin age 15 and 11 months. Yang Bai age 17. Yang Chao age 18. Huang Fai age 17. And Yu Yan age 16." said the announcer as he read out the results

After all the contestants went through the first tablet the announcer spoke up again, "Now that we've finished measuring your age we'll move onto the next tablet as you perhaps already know this will measure your cultivation. Keep in mind that this will highly contribute to your final score so be prepared."

Saying this all the contestants followed the same process in the same order as the previous tablet.
