1285 Proceed, Regardless

Although Zhang Zian had expected the explosion to cause the collapse of the earth's surface, he was still shocked to see such a scene, a Hollywood-blockbuster-only scene, happening in front of him.

"It seems that they haven't! They didn't return to the car when I came over! Only Richard flew back along the way!" Famous responded equally loudly. "I saw that danger was coming and none of you were coming out, so I came to you!"

Zhang Zian stumbled up from the ground and said, "You go back to the car and wait for me. I will go in and find Fina!"

Famous was anxious. "The pyramid is so big. Where will you look? Also, as you go in, they may be coming out. Won't that then be a wasted trip?"

Famous was anxious. "Then I will go in with you! At least I can smell Fina. It is better than you looking for her yourself!"

Zhang Zian hesitated. "Well that's true. Then when you find the smell of Fina, leave first!"

As there were no mines in the underground of the pyramid, the closer they got to the pyramid, the smaller the cracks were. However, as the surrounding areas were all collapsing, the heavy weight of the pyramid would make the ground sink as well. This was because it had once had underground rivers and springs. The geological conditions of the area were just not stable.

Famous rushed to the front, and Zhang Zian turned on a flashlight. They went in via the passage that Peter Lee had carved out.

He was also shocked when he saw the stone statue of Meredith Segar, the patron saint of the underworld. However, as the stone statue had been eroded by the rain, it was less horrible-looking than when Peter Lee and his team had first seen it.

"It's us!" replied Famous.

Old Time Tea jumped out of the darkness.

"Tea Master, are you okay? Are you shot? Are you injured? Why are you still here? Where are Galaxy and Fina?" Zhang Zian asked, his questions coming out of his mouth like bullets. He used his flashlight to scan the area. He could not be bothered now even if he shone it straight into Fina's eyes.

Old Time Tea lifted his claws and pointed to the channel that was tilted upwards behind him. He succinctly described the situation. "I am fine! Fina went to the tomb of the king, and Galaxy followed. I was worried that you would find the wrong way when you came in, so I waited here."

Even if the land was collapsing outside and the pyramid was in jeopardy, Old Time Tea firmly believed that Zhang Zian would come in to find them. Thus, he stayed put.

Zhang Zian nodded. "Tea Master, you go out first with Famous. There is only one road ahead, and I won't get lost. I also won't miss Fina and Galaxy this way."

Old Time Tea was worried, but Zhang Zian said, "You don't have to worry. Please leave first so that I have one less worry!"

"…Okay." Old Time Tea sighed a little, knowing that he was right. In the face of nature destroying the earth, the power of both humans and elfins was small.

Famous also wanted to chime in, but Zhang Zian waved his hand to stop him.

Famous and Old Time Tea looked at each other and knew that he had made up his mind.

"We will wait for you outside," they said matter-of-factly with no words of "be careful" or "take care." To truly be safe, they would have to leave the pyramid together. That action by itself would be care enough.

"If the situation is critical, you leave first!" Zhang Zian shouted at their backs, but he wasn't sure if they heard it or if they would truly internalize it.

He turned his flashlight and let out a long sigh while looking over the route to the king's tomb. He took a deep breath and rushed up.

When he passed Meredith Segar's stone statue, he took a picture and said, "If you are truly the patron saint of the underworld, tell the goddess Bastet to bless her great follower!"
