Chapter 250 Inheritance 2

When Madame Tang received Lu AnLing's call, her heart had missed a beat and she had begun to sweat.

She knew Lu AnLing would call her, but she didn't expect it to be so soon.

Once Madame Tang had picked up the phone and heard Lu AnLing's command, the woman took a deep breath and said,

"Where would you like to meet?"

Lu AnLing: "At my father's grave."

Hearing this, Madame Tang's heart missed a beat once more but she still agreed to Lu AnLing's request.

It took a couple of hours to drive all the way to where Lu AnLing's father's grave was.

Once Madame Tang got there, the first thing she saw was Lu AnLing standing in front of the headstone, staring at it coldly.

"AnLing..." Madame Tang said as she approached the girl.

Hearing the voice, Lu AnLing looked up at Madame Tang with a petrifying glare. "Auntie."

Once the two were close, Madame Tang felt a chill run through her body as she waited for Lu AnLing to say something. Anything...

Lu AnLing was just 27 years old, but Madame Tang could not help but slightly fear the girl. It was not only because of the tremendous guilt Madame Tang felt towards Lu AnLing, but the fact that the girl's expressions were so disconnected from any and all emotion.

"Is my father really buried here?" Lu AnLing asked through clenched teeth.

Hearing such a question, Madame Tang froze. "AnLing... I was meaning to tell you... but..."

With what Madame Tang was saying, Lu AnLing could already assume an answer, but she didn't want to assume. She wanted a clear yes or no, so she screamed,

"Answer me!"

Madame Tang: "N-no."

Lu AnLing's eyes squinted in anger as tears gathered in the corners of her eyes. "So I've been visiting an empty grave all this time?"

"No!" Madame Tang screamed, she then looked sadly at the grave as she touched her arm and whispered, "It's Lang's..."

"Who?" Lu AnLing said with a frown.

Madame Tang: "My older brother. Your uncle."

Realizing what Madame Tang has just said, Lu AnLing's eyes widened.

Lu AnLing did not know much about her father's family. She hadn't even known that he was a Tang but one thing her father had told her was that he had had two older siblings.

The three has been close since childhood but everything had changed when the eldest had fought will their father and left home. Since that day, no one had seen him. Or so Lu AnLing had though...

Looking at Madame Tang strangely, Lu AnLing was frozen for a second... but she was still angry so she said,

"Did you even care about your older brother? It doesn't even have his name on it?! And I have been coming here, praying and talking to a man whom I don't even know? He must have been laughing at me from beyong the grave..."

Madame Tang shook her head, "Lang wouldn't do that... he just committed suicide, and Yian hadn't died... so when I found out I just... I just didn't know what to do... And Yiling..."

Because of her anxiety, Madame Tang's head was muddled so she just spoke whatever words filled her head and heart. She was speaking her truth but still... this didn't matter to Lu AnLing.

Lu AnLing began to become more and more worked up as she heard Madame Tang speak. "What about Tang Yiling? Why does she call my father, her father...? Is she even a Tang..."

Hearing this, Madame Tang looked at Lu AnLing in the eyes. Lu AnLing could clearly see the self-loathing and guilt in the woman's eyes. "Yiling is Lang's daughter... after his wife passed away, Lang tried to burn the house down with both he and Yiling in it... because of this incident she got half her face burned off and she forgot about what had happened... and Yian... after he woke up he didn't remember anything either... by then you were already with the Lu's... and Yian couldn't remember you clearly..."

Lu AnLing's eyes widened as she listened to what Madame Tang had to say.

The woman was basically saying that Tang Yiling and Tan Yian were both broken and that they needed each other in order to recuperate, even if that meant replacing their true memories with fakes.

The thought almost made her want to kick down the headstone that stood in front of her and curse the world but suddenly, as she looked at Tang Lang's grave, Lu AnLing felt that he was pitiful...

Forgotten by his daughter, and replaced by his brother. Who would have ever imagined such a fate?

"You're telling me that you allowed MY father, to think that Yiling is me and that he's been having a happy life with his FAKE daughter while I suffered at the hands of a family who STILL don't believe I'm their actual BLOOD RELATIVE?" Lu AnLing laughed dryly as she stared at her aunt with total disbelief. Lu AnLing made sure to accentuate her words so that Madame Tang could truly begin to understand how much Lu AnLing had been hurt.

Madame Tang did not know what to say. She did not know much about Lu AnLing's circumstances. All she had known was that, back then, she had wanted to protect Lu AnLing. When Tang Yian has been in a coma, she didn't want Lu AnLing to be alone but she knew that, at that point in time, Elder Tang would not accept a bastard child.

Hoping that Lu AnLing could live a happy life, Madame Tang made contact with Lu AnLing's biological mother, Lu Xiaoling.

Madame Tang knew that Lu Xiaoling had already remarried and had had two more children but she hoped that the woman would still be able to show Lu AnLing love.

When Lu Xiaoling heard that Tang Yian was at the brink of death, she immediately decided to take Lu AnLing in but Madame Tang did not know the state the Lu family was in nor the rules they abided by.

Madame Tang was just happy about Lu AnLing having a chance of being happy.

"I-I just wanted you to have a chance at happiness..." Madame Tang uttered lowly.

Lu AnLing: "Wouldn't I have been happier knowing that my father was alive this whole time? Why did you lie to me and tell me that he was dead?"

Madame Tang held her head in her hands as tears began to trickle down her face. "I pulled the plug... I thought he was going to die... so I told you he had died so you could quickly move on..."

Madame Tang remembered that day like it was yesterday. She had just found out that Tang Lang had died and she was about to disconnected Tang Yian from life support.

But Tang Yian was a fighter... that was also the day that he woke up and with that, Madame Tang was glad. After two years of recuperation, Tang Yian was able to speak and gain a few of his motor functions back. At this point, Madame Tang wanted to go tell Lu AnLing but she had already told the girl that her father was dead.

Madame Tang did not want to disturb Lu AnLing's possibility at a new happy life. At that point in time, the girl had begun to grow closer to Yang Yize and she had made a good friend in Mo Sheng.

Madame Tang visited Lu AnLing many times from the shadows and she had decided that she did not want to put stress on her life. Lu AnLing had seemed to have moved on... but Madame Tang did not know about Lu AnLing's problematic relations with her family.

All Madame Tang saw was the girl's happiness.

Madame Tang: "I thought..."

Looking at her aunt, Lu AnLing felt her head begin to hurt. It was as if all the blood from her body had rushed up to her brain and for a moment, Lu AnLing could not hear, see or think anything.

She was just angry.

"Did you even think at all? You fucked everything up! How did you think that any of that was okay?" Lu AnLing almost screamed. She wanted to unload all her sadness, confusion and anger but instead, she pushed it down. This caused her voice to become icy and detached. "You made me believe my father was dead... you took him away from me..."

Hearing this, Madame Tang felt as if a piece of ice had stabbed her through the heart. "Darling... I'm so sorry... I just didn't want you to be hurt. I didn't think my father would have been willing to take you in.."

"I couldn't care less about being a Tang! You and your family can keep that name for yourselves." Lu AnLing said with spite as her nails dug into the palms of her hands. "I just want my father back."

"I understand... but Yian... he thinks..." Madame Tang was afraid of saying the rest, but just by looking at Lu AnLing's pained expression, she knew that the girl already understood.

Tang Yiling had taken the spot Lu AnLing had held in her father's heart. Lu AnLing wasn't even sure if there was a speck of herself left within the man.

Thinking about this, Lu AnLing's heart clenched but then, she suddenly laughed dryly.

"Yiling... her name, it's a combination of Yi from my father's name and Ling from my mother's name..."

'At least she didn't completely steal my identity...' Lu AnLing internally scoffed.

Looking up to Madame Tang, Lu AnLing asked, "What's her real name?"

Madame Tang hesitated. "Tang Suyin..."

"Okay..." Lu AnLing said before she began to walk away.

Seeing this, Madame Tang hurriedly walked towards the girl and said, "What will you do?"

Lu AnLing turned to look at Madame Tang in the eyes. She could see the woman practically begging her not to destroy her perfect illusion but Lu AnLing turned away and sighed.

Lu AnLing: "You helped me out when I was young. Giving me to my mother... I understand why you did it. But I'm sorry... I don't care about your reasons or your circumstances. You could have been ordered to do it by God himself and I wouldn't be able to accept it! Tang Suyin took something precious from me and there is no way in hell I'm going to let her spoiled ass parade around in happiness with my father..."

Feeling tears emerge from her eyes, Lu AnLing turned around completely and whipped them away.

This was no time for tears.

Lu AnLing: "Tang Huian, you might have started this but now I'm going to finish this."

"How?" Madame Tang asked with slight worry.

Lu AnLing: "I'm going to destroy each and every single one of your precious lies."

As she said this, Lu AnLing's voice was unwavering and emotionless. Madame Tang heard this loud and clear and it sent shivers down her spine but after what she had caused, Madame Tang had no right to say anything about it.

She had done a horrible thing... and she knew that because of this, she and Tang Yiling, would have to pay somehow.

"What can I do to help?" Madame Tang said surrendering herself to her fate.

Lu AnLing looked sadly into the woman's eyes.

"All you can do is accept the punishments you will be faced with... I've heard that Elder Tang does not take well with injustice and what you've done to me is one of the greatest injustices of all..." hearing Lu AnLing say this, Madame Tang couldn't stop herself from crying. She felt guilty, as she should. She had truly hurt not only Lu AnLing but indirectly, Tang Yian and Tang Yiling... Madame Tang felt like she had to apologize, so she opened her mouth, but before she could, Lu AnLing spoke again, "Also, understand this... I don't take any pleasure in your suffering and I'm not taking revenge on you. This is not because you're my aunt, but because I don't want to cause your daughter any heartache. Tang Bingyi is a good girl and you're the only parent she has left so you better take good care of her in the little time of peace you have left"

After saying this, Lu AnLing walked away from Madame Tang. She did not look back, not even when she was in the taxi.

Seeing her enter the car, Rong Xin gazed upon Lu AnLing's expression. It was dark and ominous but he did not say any word for the whole 2 hours that they were in the car and once they had arrived at Kang Jun's house, where Lu AnLing had instructed him to go, there were still no words spoken between the two.

Like nothing had happened Lu AnLing had gone to greet the kids with love and care but still something was amiss. After a small while, Lu AnLing smiled at the kids and said,

"How about Rong Xin brings you two, and grandpa back home. I'll come back later?"

The kids and Rong Xin were reluctant to leave but when Lu AnLing turned to look at him pleadingly, Rong Xin did as he was asked.

Once the four were gone, Lu AnLing looked at Rong Lihua and said,

"Could you do me a favor?" As she said this, Lu AnLing's voice began to shake, and her eyes began to glaze over. Looking at the girl's face, Rong Lihua began to worry but she still nodded. Lu AnLing put her phone in Rong Linus's hands. "Call Jun and tell him to come to see me here when his work is done..."

After saying this, Lu AnLing ran up the stairs as Rong Lihua watched her in complete confusion.

As Rong Lihua began calling Kang Jun, Rong Lihua began to hear crashing and smashing sounds coming from upstairs.

Quickly, Rong Lihua ran up to the spare room, where Lu AnLing had kept all her things, and once she opened the door, Rong Lihua saw the room in a mess with a wooden box broken into pieces in the center.

The contents were spread across the floor either broken or shredded. There were pages of a children's book, ripped out and spread everywhere.

Looking at the disaster, Rong Lihua's eyes widened but what shocked her more was the figure of Lu AnLing who sat with her head in her knees.

The girl's hair was a mess and her arms laid on the floor with her palms open, like she had no more strength left in her. And on her palms and nails, an obvious red liquid blossomed from open wounds.

Seeing this, Rong Lihua's eyes widened as she ran up to the girl.

Lu AnLing was in a trance-like state.

Rong Lihua tried to check Lu AnLing's pulse but the girl suddenly stopped her.

With a faint smile, Lu AnLing said, "It's okay... I'm fine..."

But Rong Lihua knew that Lu AnLing was nowhere near fine.

Realizing that she had called Kang Jun and that he had answered, Rong Lihua put the phone to her ear and said,

"Young master, please come home right now!"
