Chapter 241 Always A Mess

Wife?

Did Kang Jun say wife?

Everyone was frozen. They couldn't believe what they had just heard. Many turned their heads to look at Kang Mu but even the man himself was shocked and had no idea what to say.

Seeing the way the people froze, Kang Jun signaled to a man near a projector. Seeing this, the man turned it on.

Once the man did, Kang Jun and Lu AnLing's marriage certificate was revealed for everyone to see.

Looking at it many people begin to gasp.

The whole room exploded into a chaos of questions and shock but because they knew who Kang Jun was, no one dared asked a single question.

The main branch of the Kang family did not speak either. They just remained quiet for a moment but then they began to whisper amongst themselves.

After the party was to end, there would probably be a family meeting. This was sure...

Looking up at the stage, Feng Zhengyi glared at Lu AnLing who held on tightly to Kang Jun's hand and a couple tables over, sat Qiao Lan, Rong Yue Wan, and Kang Nianxi.

"That bitch!" Rong Yue Wan said, trying to hold herself back from running up onto the stage and clawing Lu AnLing's eyes out.

Seeing such a ravenous look in Rong Yue Wan's eyes, Qiao Lan sighed.

"I doubt he loves her. She's just a toy for him to become the heir..." While saying this, Qiao Lan believed in her own words 100 percent and so did Rong Yue Wan but Kang Nianxi was not so sure.

He hated Kang Jun with a passion but because he hated him so much he could easily notice the change that occured in him when he was with Lu AnLing.

That day he had found out that both of his brothers had found love, and he knew what his brothers would do in order to protect their loves. It was the same he would do for Wang Tingting if he was more intelligent and capable...

For the first time, Kang Nianxi began to lose the will to fight for the title of the heir. Before this moment, Kang Nianxi knew that Kang Jun didn't want to be the heir. If he did, he would have married long ago but now, everything was over for him. Kang Nianxi had lost the battle and shockingly, he decided to take it like a man.

He stood up from his spot and clapped for his elder brother like many others in the room had begun to do.

Seeing this, Qiao Lan frowned. "You're giving up already?"

"Everything is done. You and I both know what this marriage means..." Kang Nianxi said. He could not deny the truth.

Kang Nianxi's words made Qiao Lan speechless for a second. But then, a thought suddenly appeared in her mind, "Don't be foolish. I bet grandfather and grandmother don't know. As long as they don't accept, that Lu AnLing girl will not become part of the Kang family!"

As she said this, Feng Zhengyi walked by the table where Qiao Lan and company sat. The old woman's face seemed normal but the aura surrounding her was somewhat dark.

Due to Qiao Lan's words, Feng Zhengyi frowned. "Tell me everything you know about this, Lu AnLing."

Hearing this, Kang Nianxi felt his body shiver without his permission. He was glad that Wang Tingting wasn't there, or else Wang Tingting would experience something he would never wish on his worst enemy; feeling the residue wrath of his grandmother.

Meanwhile, down where Elder Kang and Elder Tang sat, Elder Tang began to laugh hard. So hard, in fact, that he almost became out of breath.

Everyone who was around him looked at the old man with complete confusion.

"Your family is always a mess, isn't it?"

Elder Kang rolled his eyes.

Elsewhere, Mother Tang looked up at the stage with wide eyes but she did not speak a word.

It was Lu AnLing...

It had been a long time since she had seen the girl. She had grown so much since then. And she had even married into the Kang family? Mother Tang could not believe it even if it had been revealed in front of her very eyes.

Realizing how transparent she was being, Mother Tang took a deep breath and stopped herself.

Beside mother Tang, Tang Yiling looked up at the stage with a glare.

"She's not even pretty..." the woman grumbled.

Hearing this, Mother Tang hit Tang Yiling on the head. "Just because you're jealous, don't insult another person! It isn't the Tang way."

After saying this, Mother Tang made her way to the table where Tang Bingyi and Elder Tang were.

Before she followed her aunt, Tang Yiling looked up at the stage and rolled her eyes. Then, she looked back at her aunt with a frown. Tang Yiling didn't believe she had said anything wrong, in the first place. She was just telling the truth. Lu AnLing was not the prettiest of women, mostly when compared to herself. Tang Yiling believed Kang Jun could have done much better.

If only she had met him first...

Once at the table where Elder Tang sat with Elder Kang, Madame Tang introduced herself to Elder Kang.

Elder Kang turned to Elder Tang and said, "Wow! It's really been years... Your daughter has really grown. Every day she reminds me more and more of Liane."

Elder Tang laughed. "Yes, I agree. Huian and her twin brother really resemble Liane. Only Lang looked like me..."

Thinking of his eldest son, Elder Tang began to feel his heart fill with sorrow. But just as it began to fill his mind, Tang Yiling appeared and greeted everyone.

Seeing both his granddaughters and his daughter here with him, all seemingly resembling Liane in one way or another, Elder Tang sighed and tried to feel better.

Looking at Kang Jun and Lu AnLing happily holding hands in front of her, Feng Yan began to feel a bit sick. She was unsure of what to do but since her job was done, Feng Yan walked off the stage and headed towards her mother and sister. Feng Yan was afraid to raise her head so she didn't.

Once Feng Yan stopped, right in front of her mother, she felt cold air envelop her. She felt her mothers distaste for her, her hate.... but in the end, this was better compared to indifference.

Though even if that was what she believed, Feng Yan was still afraid to see her mother's disappointed face.

Just as she struggled with this thought, Mother Feng moved swiftly.

Thinking she was about to receive a slap, Feng Yan flinched but then, feeling her mothers arms wrap around her like a barrier of protection, Feng Yan lifted her head up.

"Darling, I'm proud of you..." Mother Feng said. Feng Yan was shocked about what her mother had just said to her. Those were words that she seldom heard.

"W-why?" Feng Yan said with confusion.

Mother Feng: "No woman should degrade herself and pine after a man who is clearly not interested in them and already in love with someone else."

Hearing this, Feng Yan expected her heart to squeeze. Kang Jun was the first person she had loved so completely, but instead, her mother's words created happiness within her which even shocked Feng Yan.

Deep in her heart, she thanked Kang Jun for breaking her heart and Lu AnLing for winning the battle...

Because Feng Yan had won a more important war.
