Chapter 231 We Don’t Accept Such Rudeness

On the day when the engagement was to be announced, the Feng household was calm and collected.

With Mother Feng and Feng Yue doing all the preparations, Feng Yan had the chance to just relax but in moments like this, Feng Yan would have much preferred to be doing something... anything!

Since the moment she woke up, Feng Yan felt as if something was wrong. She was so glad that she was finally going to be officially engaged to Kang Jun and that she would finally become Mrs. Kang Jun, in less than a year, as she had always wanted, but her heart was unsettled and because of this, she couldn't help but bite her nails.

Downstairs, Feng Yan passed by the kitchen and grabbed some water before she walked back to her room, passing by her mother's office she saw Feng Yue and Mother Feng talking happily.

Looking at the serene scene, her heart squeezed.

Understanding that this meant that she was unwelcome, Feng Yan made her way to her room.

Inside, Feng Yan looked at the dress her mother had prepared for her. It was a nice white and baby blue cheongsam with birds. It looked elegant and calm which was not what Feng Yan was. Looking at it, she felt her heart sink.

'This is a perfect dress for Feng Yue...'she internally said as she gripped the dress tightly, wrinkling it in the middle. Seeing this, Feng Yan backed away slightly and sighed.

Feng Yan then removed the dress from her bed and put it elsewhere before she went to lay down upon her bed. She was tired. Tired of doing nothing.

Suddenly, the reverberating sound of the doorbell rang through the house. Hearing this, Feng Yan immediately sprung up from her bed and ran downstairs. Near the door, Mother Feng stood with Feng Yue walking towards her from the office in which Feng Yan had seen them in beforehand.

Seeing her sister descend the stairs, Feng Yue stopped and waited for Feng Yan. Not paying attention to the door.

Once it opened a tall woman with greying hair and glasses walked into the room with a straight face and her hands behind her back. She bore the presence of a drill sergeant and the temperament of a monk. She did not look at the help nor at Mother Feng, who was closest to her. Her eyes were, instead, plastered on the two girls who stood near the stairs.

Looking over the old woman, Mother Feng tried to hold back her frown. She did not like seeing Feng Zhenyi.

"Hello, auntie." Mother Feng said awkwardly.

Feng Zhengyi did not smile or answer the woman. Instead, she walked up to Feng Yan and Feng Yue. And once she spoke, her voice did not contain any semblance of kindness or happiness.

Seeing this, Mother Feng frowned.

Mother Feng never liked her husbands 'aunt', the woman was stoic and seldom smiled which made her seem a bit creepy to Mother Feng But Feng Zhengyi did not care. To her, Mother Feng was like air.

Once Feng Zhengyi was in front of Feng Yue and Feng Yan, she greeted the girls and then she looked at the later coldly and said,

"Congratulations."

Under Feng Zhengyi's normal pressure, Feng Yan's body became stiff and cold. The girl struggled to smile politely.

Seeing this, Feng Zhengyi's unfeeling face began to twist in dissatisfaction. She then clicked her tongue and shook her head.

"If you have a tongue you better speak, child." Saying this, Feng Zhengyi's head was held up as she looked down upon Feng Yan who seemed to become smaller and smaller by the second. "If you expect to marry my grandson, you better get your act together. In the Kang family, we don't accept such rudeness. You need to be re-educated. It's unfortunate you aren't more polite, like your sister."

Feng Yan felt as if someone had a hold of her heart and squeezed hard until blood poured onto their hands. She could not breathe, speak, or move.

Lu AnLing and Kang Jun stood at the foot of the stairs discussing their plans for that night.

It was finally the day to announce to Kang Jun's family that they were married and despite freaking out, Lu AnLing felt a small tinge of excitement which Kang Jun could see clearly in her eyes.

"I'll go finish the last loose ends of the plan, then I'll get ready and meet you at the party." Lu AnLing said as she held onto the man.

"Good." Kang Jun touched her hands and then he kissed her hard on the lips. "Don't forget the invitation. They won't allow you in unless you have it."

Lu AnLing nodded. "It's in my purse."

Kang Jun and Lu AnLing held each other close, unwilling to let go until they began to hear a ruckus from the kitchen.

Kang Jun had given Rong Lihua the week off but the woman wouldn't stand for it. Coming in the room, she handed Kang Jun his coffee. Behind her, Kang Mingyu and Kang Mei Xue stood calmly talking amongst each other. After she greeted both Kang Jun and Lu AnLing, Rong Lihua then called for the kids to take a bath.

The kids wanted to go but they saw Lu AnLing headed for the door and immediately headed for her instead.

Stopping right at her feet, Kang Mingyu and Kang Mei Xue looked at Lu AnLing with big eyes. And in them, she could see them begging her saying that they didn't want her to leave at all.

Bending down to look at both kids in their eyes, Lu AnLing said, "I'll be there with you guys tonight, okay?"

They both nodded their heads and then they hugged Lu AnLing tightly. Feeling this, her heart filled with so much happiness she felt her fingers tingle and her eyes well up with tears.

Reciprocating their hug, Lu AnLing said, "I love you both so very much."

Hearing this, both kids pushed themselves away from her and smiled wide.

"I love you too!" The two said simultaneously.

Kang Mingyu was now used to the love and care given but he never took it for granted but when it came to Kang Mei Xue, she was still a bit shy but the girl reciprocated Lu AnLing's love no matter.

Hearing this, Lu AnLing couldn't help but hug the two harder.

From afar, Kang Jun watched this scene and smiled. When Lu AnLing let go of the kids, Kang Jun wrapped his arms around her and asked,

"You ready?"

"Not at all..." Lu AnLing almost laughed but she was completely serious. Knowing this in his heart, Kang Jun gripped her tighter.

"Don't worry. I'll be with you." Kang Jun kissed her on the forehead and then he intertwined his fingers with hers and whispered, "Forever."

Lu AnLing felt her heart soar...

Leaving, Lu AnLing looked back at the three and felt herself overflow with confidence.

Lu AnLing would never get enough of how the three showed that they loved her with every inch of their bodies. No one had ever loved her so blindly before. Not even her own father or mother.

Getting into the car, Lu AnLing was calm. She then greeted Rong Xin before she took her phone out.

"Go to this address please," Lu AnLing said as she handed Rong Xin her cellphone.

Hearing her instructions and then looking at her phone, Rong Xin raised his eyebrows before he turned to look at Lu AnLing curiously. "Where are we going?"

Lu AnLing gave the man a smirk, "We're going to see a girl about a plan."
